The Army Painter Project Paint Station

The reviews which say this is flimsy and not fit for purpose are wrong, but the assembly guide itself could be better. To that end, I've included a photograph of the assembly guide, renumbered as to how I assembled it.Things to note: you do not need the specific basing glue they advertise, it's no different from the stuff you can get from B&Q for a fraction of the price - you're throwing your money away! You could use hot glue of you want, but PVA and patience is safer. Do not use superglue, it doesn’t work on porous materials such as wood. I used a bottle of Loctite PVA, but any wood glue will do.Dry-assemble the whole thing first, especially the shelves and backboard, they are a very tight fit and need some persuasion to fit together.You can clamp the wood after you've glued it if you want, but tighten only as much as it needs to hold the pieces together - it's only soft wood. I found that pressing the pieces together by hand with the assistance of a worktop for about three minutes was easiest.Wait half an hour between steps to let the glue dry, otherwise you risk it all coming apart. But remember that you can work on a separate piece of wood while you wait for one to set.Wait 24 hours after completion to let the glue set, just to be safe. After that, it is ready for use, and long may it last.

Useful storage and work area

so I dove in and bought this stand after purchasing a few other army painter products. I personally found their products quite good and so the reviews here being both highly negative and calmly positive. I hope to provide a realistic feedback to this stand.first and foremost it is not extremely easy to break. if it broke then it was forceably broken. it's not rubber so gently frame the pieces that need to be slightly bent not at right angles into the frame. in about 5 mins I had the stand put together without glue.however there are 2 specific things required to complete this completely hassle free. fortunately of which I had both of these tool. in the instructions it suggests the army painter basing glue. I used pva craft glue. second a slight issue maybe but not really for me I suppose, the holes to slot the main stands into for the upper and lower base, needed to be made a bit bigger for a more comfortable but still snug fit. they did not fit into the holes properly as opened from the box.all in all it took 25/30mins from opening to the picture attached. 8/10. if you are into hobbies like this like i am getting into you might be lucky and have the extra one or two things to make this simple. otherwise it is medium assembly given that I had to make slightly extra sized holes??I really like the product and army painter products in general.

Despite very careful hands, the majority of the smaller pieces broke when trying to put them together. Extremely disappointed.

when i started putting it together it dident realy fit. and i made a mess of it all. and broke the top plateand it kept falling apart in my hands until i make better holes in the back plate. then it started to fit.btu was still a mess to put together. for me atleast.. and yes i might have 7 thumbs... and others are experts..

A very handy station to start that hobby or to tidy up the hobby desk. Some DIY knowledge is needed!! If you don’t have DIY knowledge you might find something on Amazon for it. Like DIY for dummies. Mainly common sense is needed. Great station guys.

DOES NOT COME WITH ANY PAINTS OR TOOLS.I mentioned this because I saw other people complaining, like they got ripped off or something. If you think that this came with not only the station but paints and tools, for this price, I don't know what hobby you've been involved in, or where your common sense is.ANYWAYS, Quite easy to construct, it was under 10 pieces. You'll need glue, like white Elmer's glue to construct. Follow instruction and you'll be fine, some pieces look similar so make sure you're using the right one.Its more a dense cardboard than a thin wood (which I has assumed it was for some reason)Overall for the price its a great addition and I use mine a lot, makes painting, gluing, and cutting for wargaming hobbies easier, because you're not worrying about ruining your desk or whatever. It's handy too of your desk is used for multiple things, my desk is where my pc is set up, so it keeps the desk clean and I can move it out of the way when I'm done painting.The paint slots are for "The Army Painter" sized paint dropper bottles, other brands that use paint pots won't fit, but other droppers may (Vallejo fits fine too)The paint brush/tool slots do not fit any of my triangular handled brushes, but standard size handles will fit for brushes or tools.The water cup slot also does not fit the Citadel brand water cups I tried.Its not super sturdy or durable, but it's a hobby station, don't slam it around or drop it, and it'll be just fine.

Qualität ist gut, war auch schneller da als angegeben. Ein kleines Teil war weggebrochen, war aber wohl nicht relevant.

Some assembly needed which requires glue but product looks great and is a perfect mini hobby station or working on small tasks.
