Fly Tips: For the beginner, we suggest you fly it in a windless environment to avoid the death of the motor. Kindly read the manual carefully and follow its instructions for troubleshooting steps before you start to play with the helicopter. To pair the remote and drone, you need to: (1) Turn on the remote (on) and the drone (plug the wire to the drone), to make sure that both devices are blinking. (2) Operate the left round controller of the remote, pull up and down until you hear "beep". Please make sure the remote is towards the drone. More like launching a missile than flying a drone.
For reference I have been flying drones for several years and have a dozen from inexpensive micro to professional models so I'm pretty sure I can make an unbiased opinion of this drone. Everything was packed securely. After unboxing the battery that fits into the drone was charged until the light on the charger went off. Three AAA batteries were installed into the controller. The controller was powered up and the battery on the drone was installed and plugged in powering it up causing it's lights to begin flashing. The left joystick was advanced from full down to full up then back to full down and the drone responded by it's lights becoming steady. I the gingerly advanced the left stick (throttle) up. At approximately 1mm of travel the motors spun up. After that one more millimeter of throttle caused the drone to go full throttle into the ceiling of my workshop. There are no throttle settings between none and full with a fully charged battery. I tried an experiment in that I clamped the drone into a vice and ran it until the lights flashed and then the motors shut off indicating battery depletion. I recharged the battery and again ran the drone clamped in the vice until approximately half power in the battery remained based on run time (three minutes) then attempted another flight. The drone then responded correctly with liftoff occurring at approximately one third throttle with controllable flight until battery exhaustion three minutes later. A fully charged battery will result in a full throttle or nothing flight. A partially charged battery will result in a controllable flight for three minutes (not long enough). Both batteries that came with the drone functioned exactly the same.I'm positive that I received a dud but I'm not going to bother to return it or order another one. This one will become spare parts fodder. If you order one, good luck.

For Indoor Drone Fun - This is the one!
As with any purchase you must consider the user [buyer, gift, adult, child, etc] and application [just for fun, learning, racing, drone wars, etc]. For reference I own a Mavic Pro. This is not that. But, it is a whole lot of fun. It is easy to fly once you get the hang of it. The learning curve is very gentle especially since crashing very rarely does any damage. I also have the white Dwi model that has a permanent battery but I like this one [Black] better for the following reasons. You get two batteries. Although I have not looked I am fairly sure you can get more batteries for more flight time by just a quick change. The controller is larger and fits into an adult's hands better. The flight characteristics of both is virtually identical. Although I found it annoying at first, the black model has a very bright white LED that is in front like a headlight so it is easier to fly in the dark as there is no question which is the 'front' side. So, I am very happy with this little guy and am having a ball flying over and around things and chasing the cats!As for children that might get this for a gift or save their money to make the purchase themselves it is a good beginner drone because it will help build the muscle memory when using the controls for forward, back, left, right and yaw [rotate left or right]. These skills will be valuable when graduating to a larger craft. The manufacturer recommends age 14 but I feel this could be used with supervision for age as young as 5. The only 'danger' might be long hair getting into the propellers. But, based on the positive reviews, everyone is having fun. I believe you can fly two or more of these at one time [I will soon test and update this review] so races, skill challenges, and drone wars can be had.2018.07.25 - UPDATE - YES! You can fly several of these drones together with no interference. I had six [6] people together and we all had one of these and we had a ball flying at the same time! How do you do it? Here is how. Each drone needs to be started separately. All drones need to be off, both the drone and the controller. One person powers up their drone and then controller. Once they have been successful then the next person does the same and so on until all are working. Linking the controller to the drone has to be done one at a time. Not sure how many more than six can fly at the same time but six is a lot and tons of fun! Enjoy!!The little things you need to be aware of. This craft is a very small and a very light machine. Consequently, the battery connecter is very tiny and delicate. One needs to use care when plugging and unplugging and removing and inserting the battery. For those who may think this is a 'flaw', to me it is the nature of the beast. Things have to be light or you won't fly. If you do not want to fuss with a battery connector then the white model has a switch. It is easier to turn on and off but the battery has to be charged in the craft so, fly [aprox 5 min], charge [aprox 30 min] repeat. For those who got poorly translated into English manuals or got a Chinese manual, my manual was in Spanish! Here are the few 'clues' you need to be successful getting your craft into the air for some fun. First - Plug the battery into the drone and set it on a level solid surface until the LEDs stop flashing rapidly and start to flash slowly. This tells you the gyro has stabilized. Next, turn on the controller and move the left stick [up, down, and rotate] all the way up, then all the way down. Down is propellers off. The controller will beep when you turn it on and depending on where the stick is may beep when you push it all the way up and again when you bring it all the way down. Once you do that, you are now ready to fly. UPDATE - I guess MakeTheOne read this review because they sent me the English manual without my intervention. Thank you MTO!!!Finally, think for just a few minutes what is inside this very tiny aircraft. Just a few years ago such flight would not be possible. But, with the miracle of sub-miniature electronics this little bugger will hover, go up, down, left, right and spin at your command. Why it will even perform flips for you! For just under $25 delivered, I'd say that is really amazing!

One works(for a little bit) and one does not work.
I bought two of these--one for me and one for father's day...I plugged both of them in to charge, but one of them didn't even start to charge. (The light on the charging cable which indicates that it is charging does not go on. Also, the LED lights that usually flash when you switch it on did not flash.) The other one charged just fine.I returned the defected one and got a refund. (thanks Amazon!) The other I was able to play with for only 1 1/2 days. (about 5 full runs). Then it mysteriously kept on losing battery power and/or motor power. it would run like crazy for literally 10 seconds then die down so it was barely hovering above the ground. "Flight" time was still the estimated 7 minutes even when it was just above the ground...Maybe it was just coincidence that I bought two defective ones, but be warned that it might not be the best...I just ordered 2 JJRC h8 drones as a replacement for both faulty ones, so hopefully those are better.

A little twitchy to operate. Requires constant retiming and also have a tendency to not have enough power to stop a drop so even at full speed.Despite trimming to fly straight, it has a tendency to require retrimming each time you bump on something (which means a lot in my case). Also if you are flying and decide to decelerate a little too much, the drone will start dropping (normal) but it is very difficult to recover from that drop if you have only a few feet. It seems that the drone is a little underpowered to recover from the drop acceleration.

Good little quad-copter!
I have several nano quad copters from different manufacturers. This nano-quad is a good one for kids or for a first time quad copter. It flies very well and is very responsive to controls even with the blade guard attached. The blade guard is a must for indoor flying due to close quarters and bumping into things. Another thing I like about this unit is that the LED lights are mounted on the bottom instead of the top so it's easier to see especially at night. CONS: The charging jack is hard to insert into the copter. This seems to be a common problem with all nano-quad copters

Good Drone, not great
for what you are paying it is of good quality, seems durable (after around 10 flights). The battery life is short (about 5 mins a charge) but that can be expected considering the price. The user manual isn't very clear and even after reading doesn't have a full understanding of some features. For example, specific propellers need to go in specific positions but this is not explained. However, was impressed with the flips when I was able to get the drone to perform them. Overall would buy again

Started great... then died
Started off great but the product died after just two weeks of intermittent use. One of the rotter just doesn’t work. Very disappointed.
