WOW. GREAT ROD! Went on family vacation to the Bahamas, brought this setup with me in the hopes of catching a Tarpon. Ended up landing a 4' -- 45lb monster - ON THIS 5' COLLAPSIBLE ROD! WOW - WOW - WOW incredible! (rod did break at the very end more my fault with how i picked it up - either way, it landed this monster flawlessly!)Highly recommend!!!!!!!!!!!

Purchased it for my avid fisherman who commutes 1hr to work. He brings this with him in the car and can quickly stop off without much hassle. The case... is utterly useless and we opted for a narrow canvas back to protect the pole in the hot car. We hike and camp - this is a great addition to those trips.The reel is nice and smooth. The Pole functions just fine.

This is a pretty nice little travel rod/reel setup. The rod is very lightweight and telescopes and retracts pretty easily. I was thoroughly impressed with the reel more than anything. It is super smooth, quick, and I'd honestly say the reel alone is worth the price of the entire get-up.The one thing I will point out though... definitely set your drag appropriately and don't attempt to bed the rod too much. I've had a couple of these travel rods and the rods are all pretty similar in the fact that they're not meant for a ton of tension. If you get snagged, do NOT whip the rod to jerk your lure loose. Don't bend the rod over to "test it out" or anything like that. It can and will snap. But if you handle it right, you can land decent size fish on it without breaking anything.Plus, if the rod snaps you can just order a new rod or use a cheap uglystick or something. The reel is very salvageable. The little tackle box it comes with is a nice little bonus. Has quite a few swivels and a few decent lures in it. The travel case is great, too. I actually don't fully break down my rod so that it's easier to quickly pull it out the case, telescope the rod, extend the line, throw the handle on the reel and go at it. If you want it to go back in the case like it's supposed to you have to take the whole thing apart again.Overall, awesome little setup. The line that's included was very twisted which caused a few minor issues on the first 10-15 casts, but after a while it worked itself out. Other than that, love this thing and will be heading out again this weekend to use it even more.

The product works fine for the first couple of times. These poles that I have are not a year old. When pulling in a Red Salmon on the Kenai in Alaska 2 of the 3 poles have snapped(Broken Off) between 2nd and 3rd telescopic sections from the tip. Have not been able to find where replacement parts may be obtained nor if a replacement pole is available under warranty. Have not been able to find warranty information on the product. Amazon does not have any help that I could find on obtaining a replacement pole. Real and everything else works fine. Kind of hard to finish fishing while on vacation when 2 feet of the tip of your pole is missing!!!Today when using one of the poles, The handle of the reel broke off....Don't know if my poles are lemons with all the defects...If one of their engineers for developing the poles and reels, I could provide them with some improvements. The screw is so small that when reeling a fighting fish, the additional energy put out by the fish seems to either break the pole or twist the small brass screw holding the handle on the reel twisted off.If pole is not replaceable when under a year, then make available where parts and pole may be obtained. Of course a video for repair would be extremely helping with the replacement parts...not necessary with replacement pole

I’ve had this for about a year now. I’ve been reeling in trout and bass with ease. I’ve only been using the rod and reel. So i can’t comment on everything else this kit comes with. I love this because I just go out fishing for fun and it’s easy to stuff in my backpack with everything i need and be hands free to walk wherever I want. It’s not as sensitive as rods my sons use but I have no problem feeling a bite. If you’re looking for a telescopic combo this is the one to get.

The reel broke after a week of use; unfortunately, I wasn't able to return it or claim a warranty on the product. Now I have a fishing rod that doesn't work, and I'll have to buy a better quality one for my 14-year-old son.
