Tub wasn't filling with water on any cycle
Maytag Centennial machine. MVWC6ESWW1I've only had the new part for several days but it is working great so far. My problem was the tub not filling at all with water although the spin cycles worked. From reading comments here and elsewhere, this part is notorious for causing the following problems:Tub not filling with water at all - spin cycles workIncorrect water levelAgitator running while fillingWater temperature issues'dumping' water during final spinThe part was very easy to remove and install. Look at the youtube videos by part number (as many as you can) until you are confident.Basically, it goes like this:Unplug machine. Remove knob, lift up control panel.Disconnect wire harnesses and the clear tube. Place your finger under the tab while pulling the tab toward you (away from the machine). While holding the tab, turn switch counter clockwise until you can remove it. Install new switch in reverse order. You should hear it click into place. If I run into any issues with the switch, I will post an update.UPDATE: After 6 months, washer is working fine. No issues since installing this switch.

EUREKA ! It Works Perfectly
Our 8 year old Whirlpool washer would start immediately agitating when turned on, and no water fill at all. After a bit of googling the evidence led to a faulty water sensor switch. I tried several online appliance parts sites and the prices ranged from $72 to $90. Then I did another search and to my surprise found Amazon was selling the part as well for a much lower price comparatively. Ordering from Amazon seemed like the right bet. And to my delight the switch was the answer to the problem. This switch is an exact replacement (the package says "Genuine Whirlpool Quality" for the one its replacing. One more thing. I have to thank Amazon with a resounding applause for getting this part to me in just one day. This whole event could have taken a lot more time and been more expensive. Amazon made it a quick, simple, and cheap little ordeal.

Fixed the problem
I was able to easily install this in my half hour lunch. Saved me from having to buy a new washer. Glad I did this myself! Simple fix, did 2 loads so far, washer now working perfectly 👌

go into spin dry and half way thru the spin dry throw water in like it still though it was rinsing
My washer had this item replaced when it was about 3 years old. Three years later, it acted up again. Mine would do the last rinse, go into spin dry and half way thru the spin dry throw water in like it still though it was rinsing. When it first did it, I assumed it was timer. However, part of the deal from Lowes was three year extended warranty.Any way, repair man told me ever one of their bottom line washers lasted about 3 years. However, this time, it appeared the vacuum hose appeared to have stretched and was not very tight. I replace part and cut off about 1/4" of hose and it was very tight then. Make sure there is no water in the hose. If your drain in the wall back up or is a little low, the water will siphon into the clear tube. Lest what Whirlpool says..This is second Whirlpool appliance I have been hugely disappointed in. I purchased their refrigerator only to find out they put the coils under it 90 degrees to the old way and it's next to impossible to clean the dust out. Even says in manual it will be OK. I finally put it out in garage were I can use an air gun on it and bought another brand for in the house. It's 4 1/2 years old now and the starter relay on the compressor burnt up and thru fire on the concrete floor and smoked up the whole garage.. I looked under it looking for a fire and it was like a shower of flames still shooting out. It would have probably burnt my house down it it had been in the kitchen on my wood floor.Whirlpool like GE products are down right dangerous. and JUNK now. My first washer and refrigerator I purchased 45 years ago lasted 30 years.

Like other reviewers mention, this provides a quick fix for an (unfortunately) common issue.
We have a Maytag Centennial washer with auto water level sensing and experienced the problems others have described -- the machine started agitating immediately upon starting a cycle, rinse cycles were off, etc. I used the "blow through the clear tube" trick several times to prolong the original sensor switch's usefulness...and eventually the problem got worse. I happened to be standing near the washer when it was filling...and filling...and filling. It started to overflow and if I hadn't switched the machine over to the spin cycle I'd have had a huge mess on my hands.Anyway, this is a long way of saying that the new switch has resolved these problems. The washer functions as it should. The part swap is easy, though it's also easy to lose the springy clips that hold the control panel. For now. I'd love to give this product -100 stars because I shouldn't need it, but that's not the part's fault. I'll certainly try any other manufacturer besides Maytag/Whirlpool when I replace this washer. It's ridiculous that the problem appeared so early in the machine's life (just after 1 year).

Yes, this is the fix
This was my second replacement for this switch. the last one I installed was on 06/01/2015. So I got 52 months out of it. This one fixed the problem again, so it is the right part to order. The supplier has nothing to do with the quality of this product. It's a part they buy and resell. Whirlpool knows the part is subject to failure, but sells a bunch of them at a hefty profit. If you choose to buy a new Washer you have no Idea what problems it will bring. Installation is a breeze when doing it a second time. I had removed the old switch the night before and prime delivered the new switch in less than 24hours. It took less than 5 minutes to install and verify the machine was working.
