Poor translation.
I purchased this book to support the author, artist and the team behind the original work, and it's upsetting that the fan translation was better than the official release by YenPress. The best part of this release is the artwork by So-bin 10/10.**Spoiler Alert**In the story, Ainz is referred to as "The King of Darkness" instead of the "The Sorcerer King" and his nation is called "The Nation of Darkness" when it should be "The Sorcerer's Kingdom". This changes aspects of the story and makes it really annoying to read. This also adds a plothole linking Monon of Darkness, Ainz's alter ego to himself.

Noticeable liberties taken with localization in this volume
For the most part the translation is okay. I know there are those who don't like the majority of the choices for the series as a whole, but up until this volume, nothing ejected me from the story. E.g. I prefer honorifics remain intact, but I can accept when they're not; I understand they're removed in an attempt to reach the wider English-speaking audience. On page 251, "He was curious what she had to say, but he couldn't. It would be troublesome if it triggered her."Okay, it works, but still sort of took me out of the story a bit. I would've given this alone a pass.On page 264, "He's transcendently yikes."This made me stop reading; I was taken completely out of the story. How about a machine translation: "Super bad." Or the fan translation: “It’s extremely bad.”Naturally, it continues to be used by the character, which just keeps me from getting back into a reading flow while this character is 'on-screen'.Where "bad" works perfectly well, "yikes" was forced in. Purposely using this terminology where it has no place just makes it so that you're shoved back to reality because it is just so jarring given the story and its world.Just another prime example of localization taken much too far.Translation gripes aside, the story as a whole continues to be an enjoyable enough read.

Picks right up after Season 3 of the Anime
Loved the anime and picked this up as soon as I heard it came out. This volume picks up almost immediately after the events of Season 3 and continues from there. Excellent writing that gives you a better idea of the thoughts of the characters and their motivations. Does have some down areas such as a secondary character introduced that does little then be a red herring of sorts for a few chapters but beyond that I couldn't put the book down and ended up devouring the entire book in virtually one sitting. Highly recommended if you enjoyed the previous books or the anime. You might as well pick this up since the next season of the anime won't be for quite awhile by all accounts.

Not much dramatic action in this vol. More of plot development and character building.
Here we find consolidation of recent gains by the new Naseric the country. Projects progressing and few new initiatives. This is reasonable for this point in the story. Good thinking in plot details and more attention to character development.Pleased to hear about certain new characters who have a lot of potential to enhance the story. Introduced in prior book as very minor characters. Can't wait for the next book and the new anime season of Overlord. but neither do I wish for the author to work himself to the point of ill health. Take care of yourself first!

Great story, bad translations. Still worth the purchase.
“If there was a lower limit to the definition of the word ‘inferior’, [Yen Press‘ translations] had certainly managed to break through it.” -Overlord, Vol 10 (as translated by Nigel). I’m not talking about just the minor grammatical errors/“kingdom of darkness” parts, but Yen Press does not seem to understand the importance of connotations very well (ex: the protagonists are evil-leaning. You know how they laugh? Not with the traditional villain’s “mwahahaha” laugh, or the generic “hahaha” laugh, but ******** “tehehehe”).That being said, Maruyama is a literary genius, and being able to have this masterpiece of a story is something else altogether. Plotwise there is nothing for me to critique.So-bin’s artwork was beautiful as always, and all in all (excluding translations) the book was put together nicely. 10000/10 would recommend.

Loved it as Always
Still in love with Overlord. I love that the Managua doesn't make Ainz a "Good guy". Ainz isn't afraid to kill and death is real. Well loved characters can die or be defeated. I love that. Please mangaka, keep up the good work. And to the publisher, please release faster! According to the afterwards, this was released in Japan 4 years ago!

Loving it!
I watched the anime before I even knew there was a book and I find myself loving the books even more. While differing translations did throw me off a little it did not detract anything from my enjoyment of the book. The books are rich in detail and I was able to connect with the characters I fell in love with in the anime even more. Overall a fantastic series and I can not wait for the next book to come out!

Translation "Darkness King" is correct
'Cause some people keep complaining about the translation of the "Sorcerer Kingdom" to "Kingdom of Darkness" and likewise the king: Somebody asked the original author if he knew about this "failed" translation. The author said that the English translator asked him about what would be the correct translation and he answered that "King of Darkness" is the most accurate translation for it. "Sorcerer King" or "Witch King" are more like a metaphor.

Dont mind the negative reviews
Yes, its not the exact translation "kingdom of darkness" but this doesnt really matter. I personally dont care much about that. The story is amazing and if you love overlord looking at the poor quality of the anime production you should get these books. The fan translation is good maybe superior looking at some details but if you wanna have a real book in your hands and if you want to support the author you should get this one. Also the story that has passed the events in the anime is getting really awesome.

Fesselnd
Wieder einmal genial. Es gibt neue intrigen und taktiken und ganz zufällig macht Ainz das richtige. Alle fürchten ihn und seine gefolgschaft, wie und ob er es schafft trotzdem ein königreich aufzubauen werden wir wohl bald sehen.

Continues to be great.
Story and writing continues to still be great to read and follow. Hard to wait for next volumes. It does have a few minor mistakes with the translation to english. But it is not so bad that I would give less than 5/5 stars for such a great book.

It was awesome!
This book was amazing! The characters and the story within the series as a whole has been amazing thus far, and the character development in Ainz and Jircniv have been stellar. I can't wait for book 11!!!

Bring on the next one
While still absolute greatness this one definitely had a few to many unnecessarily long conversations that seemed to be there just to make up the numbers
