How to germinate cucuzza seeds
The first time i planted 50 seeds and not one germinated ! I have since discovered the method for 100 percent germination! Soak the seeds in water for two days then take a pair of pliers and very very gently crack the pointed end of the seed! Do not crush it ! Just apply pressure till you hear a tiny crack or click ! Put the jaws about an eighth of an inch behind the tip of the pointed end! Put Jaws on the narrow edge of the seed not the flat part! Its tricky at first you will ruin the first two or three seeds Then plant the seed pointed end down in one of those seed started trays , the kind that has a compressed wafer encased in a webbing that expands with water! Put the tray on a warming pad without the pastic top on ! If you leave the top on seeds will cook ! Leave on pad for just two days then just on a regular surface keep the cells watered everday! Very moist but not sopping wet ! Seeds will start to sprout in 10 to 15 days and continue to sprout for another two weeks one by one just keep the cell moist! After the seed sprouts transfer cell into a larger 20 oz cup to grow bigger!put plants out in sun on warm days take in on cold nights Plant outside in ground after last frost date ! I tried several different methods to germinate this is the best ! I get 100 percent sucess ! Ps.!!! June 10 th Proof of pudding . i planted another 50 seeds by the method described above all germinated . just in a plastic container no cells !

Pest resistant and prolific
These are vigorous growers. They make pumpkin vines seem downright dainty. I have two plants in one 4x4 bed along with 2 other normal zucchini’s and they have eclipsed the 6 foot trellis I built for them and over taken two more 6 foot trellises I built next to the bed. Now I’m just letting them grow over the ground. This is just from seeds planted in may and it’s now the first week of July. At first the female flowers are few and far between, but now they put out at least one a day. That doesn’t seem like much but the are least twice the size of regular zucchini, so that builds up fast. The flavor is good. It’s very mild and is a little fleshier than zucchini or yellow squash, as there are far fewer seeds. Makes good zoodles. I have had zero pest or powdery mildew problems as of now. It’s almost like it repels the normal squash pests. Normally I have great struggles with vine borers and squash bugs. I’m seriously impressed and this will be a garden staple from now on. I just have build a bigger space just for it. They are pictured on the right side of my picture.

Seeds are no good!
This seller seems to have many issues! One seed came up out of what I purchased and they have no intentions of replacing them. His warranty was that he would plant some tomorrow and if nothing came up in 7 days he would give me a refund.(Really?)I have been gardening for about 45 years and everything else we’ve started in our greenhouse this year is doing great!Do not waste your money!

grow several and pick the strongest to cultivate
My longest one so far is 32 inches long and still getting bigger every day... I plan to harvest at 36", and another one is catching up... it is 23" long. Hand pollinating in the late afternoon / early evening works best for me since that seems to be when the flowers want to open. I am loving these and am using a trellis to encourage long straight shaped fruits. Watch for squash bugs and squash bug eggs. Daily check the vines and leaves for both.
