Don’t be fooled by the others. This is real licorice and tastes like licorice not some sugar latent substitute. Very satisfied with this product. I wish I could give it 10 stars.

I love licorice. It’s really the only candy I like. It’s hard to find a nice black licorice and this fits the bill. Tasty, chewy, and a good value. Quality is excellent.

These are very nice but the only thing I did not care for they were not salty enough hardly any salt to taste at all. In the description it said salty licorice so that’s why I was disappointed I will be trying a different brand in the future

If you are looking for authentic licorice made with licorice extract (and molasses) these are an outstanding choice. They are a soft/medium chew and have a powerful non-salty licorice taste which is the same delicious flavor as Gustav’s Cats that are significantly firmer and a much harder chew. I’m a licorice fanatic and over the years have tasted too many varieties to count. I would rate these #1. If you compare the price to other Dutch options they also offer great value. The small individual packs allow you to keep your supply fresh – if you can resist them and make your supply last a little longer!

Not sure why but these are definitely stale. I love these when they are fresh but unfortunately these are not. They still have good flavor but it is a big let down that the candy itself tastes old. Would not buy these agai .

These are so addictive. They are the right combination of salty with just a hint of sweet to keep them from being too overwhelming. I have had extensive dental work and was freaked out when I first put one in my mouth. I was fearful of loosing a crown. The very quickly soften up and I have had no issues. After getting these I went back to my old brand. Big Mistake. They do not compare. I will regularly purchase these. I only wish they were a little cheaper had a price break for more bags. Truthfully they are well worth the price.

It is very difficult to find decent licorice in the U.S. Most Americans don't like licorice, and with good cause. The truth is that American licorice is made with very low standards and significantly inferior ingredients resulting in a very low grade product. So, of course it is not a popular candy.But decent licorice does exist elsewhere. In my humble opinion Dutch licorice is the best. (Yes, I am Dutch and biased).Dutch licorice is made with the finest ingredients (Arabic gum instead of wheat flour) and often with a pinch of salt. It comes in literally thousands of varieties each with their own taste and texture.The British also make decent licorice candy. And perhaps we can add the Finnish to the list as well.I recommend Gustaf's licorice to all licorice lovers.
