Just keeps getting better
My praise is usually balanced with criticism; I try to be honest with every review I give. This author has a gift for a good, slow burn story, with an entertaining read. He's managed to capture an innocent(-ish) individual in a fantasy adventure. Unlike other stories, the protagonist isn't given all godlike powers, items and skills from the very start; he has to actually think about things, adapt the powers/items/skills he *does* have to the situation.**Spoilers**To date, the first book through 9th has seen the gradual development of skills, from smithing and crafting to Aura-reading etc. It's only in the last two books that the protagonist's skills are really going from Hero OP to actual demigod. Now of course there are plot holes, but the tale is enjoyable enough to ignore those. It's a bit uncomfortable with the 'loli' situation, but there is no sex going on, which is the saving grace of that angle.**End Spoiler**In addition, I am abso-bloody-lutely loving the utter lack of retcon explanations. There's minimal 'while I did this,' or, 'that's because I/we/they' and of course, 'without anyone knowing ....' Once in a while is acceptable, but when an entire book relies on ten word sentences to take the place of important plot points, it is disgusting. This story does not take the easy way out, I am glad to say.Summarized: The tale is improving, and is very high quality. No typos or grammar issues. Looking forward to the next release in January!

Atlantis-like setting with sugar, chocolate, and spice!
Satou and company leaves the Bolenan Forest via the sea, and ends up in the Seadragon Islands! They explore sunken ships, fight pirates and ghosts, and eventually discover a trail for an ancient civilization that used to rule the world thousands of years ago.Overall:It's a good read. Satou continues to do his own thing, but he just ends up in the middle of all sorts of issues. He usually makes it a point to avoid attention to himself, but he realizes that there is inherent value in being recognized and making his life (and his companion's lives) easier.PERSONAL THOUGHTS ### SPOILERS! ###-IS A MAP SO HARD TO REQUEST FOR THIS SERIES!?-I did not expect a One Piece reference in this. A King of the Pirates getup? Gold D. Roger is fine, but Monkey D. Luffy on Arisa? Not really.-So a cultivation tank that can modify bust sizes. We have reached Japanese levels of an MMORPG.-Trazayuya (Mia's grandfather and creator of the Cradle where Nana was born) developed that cultivation tank with that bust modification. Truly a man of "culture" or "plot".-On the same note, WHAT ABOUT NANA'S SISTERS!?-Scarlet ore - Hihiirokane (legendary fire metal from Japanese folklore)- God's Gold/Orichalcum - Divine metal. Usually the best stat weapons are made of this.-True Silver - Magic Silver (from the Japanese translation)-True Steel - Adamantite. I don't get this. They mentioned it as true steel at the beginning, but then call it adamantite later in the book.-Wandering Ocean spell is a great setup for defense. Plus it ties in with the Wandering Forest spell back in volume 6 (the Spriggan's shop).- Mementaider Rangers = Power Rangers or Kamen Rider (Tokusatsu genre)-I'm calling it what it is. HE FOUND A LIGHT SABER!-"BARRREL". Memes from the Tales series. Arisa (and the author) loves this video game franchise.-Pyromanic noble that turned into a demon is a descendant Lalakie?!-"Enough to rival Miss Karina's...". Couldn't Satou make something so that she is in that form all the time?!-"Karina-tier" is now official per Arisa!-Sutoandell, the huge trade city, avoided extensive damage along with Gururian city (where Satou found a demon horn and rescued Sera). King stated this in either volume 5 or 6. Now we know it was because it was owned by Bobino (the family that sponsored the Wings of Freedom). It's a really subtle tie in, but appreciated!- "Antiflash Protection Shockfield" = Space Battleship Yamamoto or Star Blazers. Wow, this is an old reference! Its as old as the Star Wars Original Trilogy.- Rayleigh was doing merchant trade (see his skill list). Wants to restart. AND ASKS AN INVESTOR FOR CASH WITHOUT A WRITTEN PLAN!?-Bonus, Rayleigh is the son of the viceroy of Labyrinth City. This will definitely earn Satou favorable treatment when he gets there!- "Oklahoma Mixer" = Think a rendition of Turkey In the Straw. Usually you see this line dance on sports days at Japanese high school festivals.- Violet-haired boy (Rei's childhood)= Dog head Demon Lord. Both their moral and ethics are exactly the same. Plus he has Arisa's hair, so likely a reincarnation.- Arisa Demon Lord flag raised-I get the Skeleton King. You suffered for over 20,000 years by a beast (that killed your wife and destroyed your kingdom) you cannot touch or overcome, yet it was blown away in an instant by a 15 year old kid. I would be pissed too. Although it doesn't excuse you for being abusive to your kids.- SATOU SHOULD HAVE RECOMMENDED THOSE LADY SAILORS TO THE DRAGONPEN OR DRAGONWRIT TRADING COMPANIES! COME ON!

Starting to wonder what the point is
The MC is OP, even for this genre. He literally can do anything and never fails at anything he tries. He's the world's greatest fighter, magician, chef, fisherman, blacksmith, carpenter, explorer, tailor, sailor, inventor, etc etc.For some reason he insists on reminding us every 2 pages how beautiful Lulu is, even though supposedly he's not attracted to her.For some reason he makes a big point out of not killing anyone, instead knocking them out and turning them over to the authorities, who literally execute them the minute they're turned over. It seems completely pointless. The last installment had him falling in love with a woman who is a million years old and then getting engaged to a little girl, which, if not really a coherent narrative, were at least events that you could point to as noteworthy. In this one he literally just says "then we stayed on an island. then we stayed on the next island." for 200 pages. So basically the series is now reduced to a travel book, where he goes places and says "this is like Japan" and then eats a meal and says "that food was good, like in Japan" and then goes to the next place. I have no idea why the series is still being written. There is no character development in it, the MC's relationships with his party are not being developed, there are no opponents who last more than 5 min fighting him (literally) and all in all it just doesn't seem like there's any reason to keep reading this.Maybe something happens in the next one, I don't know.

I dont know why
I'm still reading this series. I dont really think it's that good. No wait, it's probably because of Arisa. Yep.

Everything here is new, new, new!
I've been following this story since it was nothing but a web novel and this book for the most part is completely new! This means that this is the first time that I have personally read any of this part of the story and found that it was up to the task of belonging to the "Death March" name. It's very nice to get an infusion of new material from the material that I've already read. For those of you who are a fan of the series you'll be thoroughly entertained as Satou and his companions sail the high seas battling pirates, ghosts and a whole lot more!

Ridiculous, fun - but relaxing.
This series of Isekai fantasy is ridiculous, fun and relaxing to read. The main protagonist of the books is outrageously overpowered to the point that there are never any risks for the party of characters - allowing the slice of life shenanigans to take center stage to the book.Cooking, eating and crafting are the order of the day with the odd distraction of having to save the world in between.3.5 out of 5 stars.

OP Seriously OP
I really don't think Satou can get much stronger and if he does I wonder what the h*ll the final boss will be like in order to give him a challenge. Again a great story that made me both laugh and quite hungry

A completely new LN volume, not seen in the web version
More relaxing journeys and plenty of seafood, terrifyingly powerful monsters dealt with instantly by this world's most overpowered hero/tourist/chef, and finally approaching Labyrinth City.

Fantasy with a slice of life
Pirates, giant monsters, flying islands, boozing with kings and sailors, searching the known universe for tuna sashimi and beach parties on tropical islands. 10/10 would read again.
