Excellent case for the Money
To answer the big questions up front, yes it holds the cards securely and yes it has lasted almost a year and a half. Solid investment, and totally worth the small price tag. You can read the rest of the review if you would like, but those are the biggest things I looked for I've owned this case for over a year now. I got it shortly after I got my DSLR since a few of the memory cards didn't come in plastic cases. I was hesitant about buying it since some of the reviews discussed poor build quality as I'm sure you are if you are reading this review. I don't normally write reviews on Amazon, but this case is good enough that it is warranted. I have had absolutely no issues with the case. It is durable enough to throw in my camera bag or backpack and not worry about it. None of it has even started falling apart with regular use. This case has gone on a number of trips with me and I've had no issues. The only point of stress is the hinge, but it seems sturdy enough and hasn't broken yet. I've owned it for long enough now that even if it broke right after writing this review I would order another one. Spending $10 on a case and having it last this long is definitely a worthy investment. The material inside is some sort of plastic which does a great job of holding the cards securely but not so tight that you can't get them out. If the case was thrown against the floor or a wall the cards may become dislodged, but since the case closes securely it wouldn't cause any harm to the cards. One thing to note is that you should put the cards in the case so you don't touch the contacts when removing the cards. You need to use the thumb hole to get them out, so if the contacts are at the bottom you risk touching them. Be smart and put them in the right way. Long and the short of it, it holds the cards securely, it is durable, no quality issues, solid ROI, and it keeps your SD cards in the same place so you aren't as likely to lose one of them. For $10 or so just go for it. If there are issues with the quality control send it back, but it's for sure worth it for me.

Does a great job.
Does exactly what it's supposed to do - hold and protect your SD (or other) memory cards, securely. We use it typically when we are traveling, and want to carry a lot of memory cards. FYI, once we start using cards we will typically use two cases - one that we carry with us, with unused cards, and one locked in the hotel safe, to keep the memories safe. Cards fit securely in their slots, but come out easily. Well designed. We have a plastic one and this one. They both cost basically the same, and work equally well, but this one is much sturdier with a better hinge and hasp. If you are looking for a way to securely transport your cards, I can't think of a better deal than this one.

Not a bad little case
Pretty good little card case. Had to pick one up after I began "losing" my SD cards to being misplaced. The slots for holding the cards are secure, they do not pop out once in until you intentionally remove them. Case is a bit smaller than I had imagined, but that's okay. Price point could have been a bit lower too, while competitive with other similar cases, there's no reason something which holds 8 memory cards should run $20 in the first place even if most of the other ones do too. My only real complaint about this case is that it's a bit clunky to open, the release button is contoured on the curved edge right where the case opens and I find myself awkwardly trying to press the button while simultaneously splitting the case apart. Frequently the button seems to kind of slip away from my thumb because of the curved, flush nature of the release. Not a huge deal, I'm far more happy with the case holding the cards perfectly secure without them popping out which is exactly what this case does, and does well. I should note that I did not find the quality of paint on this case to be an issue so far as others have complained about. Mine was silver, no noticeable scratches or wear on the paint that I can tell.

Wonderful Product
I am extremely pleased with both this product and its seller. The case arrived just in time for a wedding I photographed last weekend, to replace my old (and frankly a little too small) canvas case that I had been using. Based on other, similar products, I was fearful that this item would have the same weaknesses. I am happy to report that the case holds the SD cards firmly in place and even when bumped and thrown around (I accidentally dropped the case) the cards remained in place. Pros: - I like that it allows me to turn used cards upside down so that I can keep visual track of how I am doing for space - It seems solid and stays shut even when mishandled - The case itself is very stylish, I like the finish and hope that it remains as is (I saw GWC guests eyeing the case, greedily) - It is lightweight, heavier than my canvas, but not as heavy as other cases I have seen - Opening the case is almost silent, a slight, muffled click is all Cons: - As mentioned (I think), in other reviews, the case is a little hard to open with one hand. I figured out quickly how to do so, however--large hands might help - A little bulky due to the added padding and case Overall, I would recommend this case to anyone using SD or MMC cards, it has small shortcomings but hardly noticeable once you spend some time with the item.

It'll do, I suppose...
The case is very sturdy, the latch closing it is nice and positive. Getting it open again is a little tricky, and the hinge looks like a very thin piece of plastic; the act of opening and closing the body may well see the two halves part from each other in your hands. There are places for eight cards within. There doesn't seem to be anything holding the cards in place when you've got them installed, and a gentle tap on the case shakes a few of them loose. Well, it beats having the cards floating loose in my pocket, at any rate.
