Q: Is a 1/4" solid braid nylon rope strong enough for a 17 foot aluminum boat with a 15 pound anchor?

I have NOT performed a stress breakage test on this rope, however, it was selected by Vex robotics to provide at a 100 lbs breaking strength. While I would select Nylon, I would want something heavier for my boat and probably not single braid due to wear.

I use a 3/16" rope for a 30lb anchor hooked to an electric winch No problems so far. Copied this from manufacturers ad: LENGTH / WIDTH / COLOR - Choose between pre-cut lengths of 50 feet, 100 feet, 250 feet, or 500 feet. Tensile strength (safe work load) range of 93 lb to 765 lb (based on diameter). My guess would be that since the 1/8" is the smallest diameter rope it would have the lowest strength
