Unlimited: A Three-Step Plan for Achieving Your Dreams Review: Not A Run-of-the-Mill Goal-Setting Book - I loved this book! I was expecting a pretty standard book about goal-setting, which this book definitely is not. The book is broken down into 3 sections. 1) Imagine - Where, through various exercises, you get clarity on exactly what your idea of an exceptional life looks like. Throughout the book, you have the option to go to Jillian's website and take additional quizzes, do additional excersises, etc., although I have to admit that I did not do that. 2) Believe - Where, through some self-analysis, you come to believe that you actually can lead the life of your dreams/achieve your goal/etc. Make no mistake; this isn't something that you read once and then---poof!---you're "fixed" forever. In my particular case, I uncovered a belief that was really holding me back. Self-awareness is powerful, and I can now take steps to gradually eliminate it. 3) Achieve - This is where some goal-setting/achieving strategies come into play. All of this is written in Jillian's style, so if you like her on TV, you'll like how she writes. It's an interesting blend of psychological and physiological science, psychoanalysis, common sense, tough love, and even a little feel-good/new-agey stuff. Prior to reading this book, I had Step 1 and Step 3 handled, but never got to the point I wanted to in my life because I didn't believe that it was possible. By uncovering the belief that was holding me back, I'm able to start believing a new truth. My belief was that my newly-published book probably couldn't be all that successful because I'm a businessperson, not a creative type. I thought people would think I was crazy for trying something that was so different from my day-to-day work. Well, I got over myself and began sharing my accomplishment (book) with family and friends and everyone has been incredibly supportive. In fact, I've received such an overwhelmingly positive response that I'm starting to believe that I really can be a successful author. Like I said earlier, it's not a quick fix, but I'm definitely on my way. Whether you need assistance dreaming, believing, achieving (or all three) you're sure to benefit from this book. Matilda Mae: The Dog Who Needed a Name Review: IF YOU HAD A REALLY WISE PARENT . . . - . . . this book is what it would feel like. Jillian's book provides wisdom, encouragement, support, rock-solid advice, and careful guidance; and as always, the loving energy that infuses her work. I met her on her Wellness Cruise, and she is one of the most caring and genuine individuals I've ever come across. She truly seems driven by a desire to help others and make a difference. And while I've never been a fan of self-help books or gurus, I became a fan of Jillian's because I was stunned by what she accomplished with the obese contestants on "Biggest Loser." She really puts her money where her mouth is (and as we fans know, she's not afraid to use the latter!). So, I bought "Unlimited" the day it came out, and I whizzed through my first reading of the book. Now I'm reading it more slowly and starting the written exercises. As with all Jillian's books and DVD's, you have to be ready to put in hard work to get results. But, reading the book gave me just the push I needed to start a major project I've been procrastinating on for months. This is one of those books that I know will become worn and dog-eared with repeated use. I have it on my bedside table, where I plan to keep it for ready reference. I hope I'm paying it forward by writing this review. Because if my review helps one person decide to buy this book, and that one person is moved to make a change in their life, who knows how that person may benefit another -- that's the power of Jillian's domino effect. I really love this woman.

Not bad
I haven't finished the book yet; mostly, you have to be ok with her writing style. She is very, very conversational, occasionally curses, and writes just like she is talking to you. I find it annoying, but others might love it. The information is nothing new to someone who reads personal development books but she does have a very persuasive way of conveying information. The main reason I'm writing this review now, before finishing the book, is to let people know about the "voice" of the book--her writing style.

Jillian Michaels really knows her stuff. I enjoyed the reading, though it took me quite a while as I had to 'digest' every chapter before I could move on. One of the best books on the subject I ever put my hands on. All thumbs up for this brilliant book.

I love Jillian Michaels. This is a fantastic book for anyone feeling a little lost in life, looking for some answers, or just believes in constant self improvement. I loved this book!

Excellent book, with very insightful and simple lessons on how to change your life. By doing simple and reachable things, the reader feels empowered to do major changes with his/her life. It has many real life examples and many are Jillian's personal experience. The book involves some delicate points and some are not so easy to tackle because they're about our deepest fears and doubts and not everybody is prepared to handle with that baggage. Try it! I guarantee that you'll fell better and more empowered to do the changes that your life is asking for...
