Mosquito BITS for Insects,8OZ

Had fungal gnats in my peace lily plants. After researching saw this was good to make a “tea” to water with and kill the larvae in the soil. This did the trick!

It is a very good product and the only thing I would advice is that you use warm or semi hot water when making the mixture. It helps break down the Mosquito BITS better and quicker. Although the mixture smells like genie pig food pellets, once you pour the mixture into the soil the smell lessen greatly. My friend and I had a fungus gnat infestation on our indoor plants due to some bad Miracle Grow soil {Miracle Grow is cheap for a reason >:( } She used Mosquito Bits for her plants for a few days and she hasn't had anymore gnats living in her plants. I changed out the soil to a better brand (lucky bamboo) but still had adults gnats laying eggs in the soil so I used Mosquito BITS till I got rid of all the adults (which took about a week) and it killed all the larvae.

I purchased this product due to mostly positive reviews. I found it expensive compared to local store prices, but I wanted it delivered. This product must be measured, put in the water to soak, then needs the bits to be strained before watering plants. Its a little messy and annoying. I have used this product now for 4 weeks of watering all my plants. The first 2 weeks I saw little improvement so I also purchased sticky yellow traps as suggested by many reviewers. I feel this combination worked well. Now at week 4 and this morning I saw only 1 gnat on all of my 10 plants. I believe this works but its a slow process. It doesn't kill the adult gnats only the larvae, so the yellow sticky traps get the adults flying around that lay the eggs. I believe the life cycle is 3-4 weeks. Overall satisfied with this product, but feel I must continue for another month or so just to be sure that they wont come back. I have seen other ready made liquid products that don't require mixing etc... so I may give that a try in the future. Package looks small but I still have some left for at least 2 more weeks. Depends on how many plants you have and how much water they consume. My plants are medium pothos and a couple of small snake plants.

These seem to work for gnats. I had an issue with them every year. I put this in my plants each year and I now I do not have a gnat problem. I add some to my plants at the same time each year to keep them away.

I bought these to get rid of fungus gnats in my plants but it didn't work. I soaked them in water and watered my plans for weeks and then also out the pellets in the soil before I watered. Neither worked. Had to get new soil and totally report.

This worked INCREDIBLY for those little gnats in my house plants! So much better than the sticky yellow things or bug rappers! After just 2 watering the problem was solved!

After a gross fungus gnat infestation that did not respond to other organic methods, I used this (made tea) and it worked wonders. After 2 applications, there is huge improvement. I am hoping with a third application, they will be gone (still using ne and insecticidal soap to kill adults too). Also said to have effect on japanese beetle larva so I tried that, too. We will see! Recommended! To use it, you soak the granules (see pic) in water for 30 mins, toss the granules a d use the water. Works great and is easy.

Very good

It took a while, but eventually got rid of all the fungus gnats that had been driving me bonkers. Just put a large spoonful into a 1 litre container full of water and allowed them to infuse. I then poured the mixture into a spray bottle (but so you don't clog up the nozzle, I suggest straining the liquid through a very fine mesh). It pongs a bit, but I added a few drops of peppermint oil and that took the edge off. I then sprayed the soil of my houseplants, and in the self-watering pots, I would also spray the bottom reservoir as well. Took over a month, but eventually the fungus gnats went. I've been gnat-free for 7 months now.
