A little slow to get going
This book is free on Amazon. It is my first book by this author and the writing was good. Its a little slow to get started and the main characters don't really get together until about 42%. She gives a lot of description and internal dialogue as she introduces the story which can be a little much and takes away from the main characters. There seems to be very little of the book between Brooklyn and Nick due to all the other elements regarding her family and I found myself skimming towards the end.Brooklyn 25 is from a rich record label owner family. She has very little self esteem due to her model mother wanting her to be model perfect and their too busy lives to be parents. She has her own company but is intimidated into moving to NY to work for her fathers company recruiting talent. A microphone company seemed far fetched to me. Nick is a producer who is working with her old boyfriend Shea who she has ended any romantic relationship they had due to his inability to be with only just her. Brooklyn is fighting her past demons over the loss of her childhood friend 8 years ago so we are taken back in time to those events and find that was when Nick first met her when she was 15 and over dosing.Nick and Brooklyn have to work through the insecurities of her past relationship with Shea. She feels no one wants to be with her except for her connections and he is jealous and doesn't want to share her with Shea. There really isn't a love triangle or any cheating in this book and they do get their HEA.

3 STARS...Too many loose ends
I loved "There Is No Light In Darkness" by Ms. Contreras, it was one of my favorites of 2013, so I eagerly downloaded this one. For me, it fell short of her other books. It took me a long time to warm up to Brooklyn, she's such a doormat! I wanted her to stand up to her parents just once. Even by the end of the book, I felt like there hadn't been in progress with her parents and I wanted something to happen there. I thought Brooklyn's backstory was heartbreaking and I really liked the parts of the book where she revisited her past.Nick was a bit confusing. I felt like I wasn't getting the full story of him until after he and Brooklyn were together. Was he with Stephanie? That was never really answered, and I kept wanting him to stay away from Brooklyn because it seemed like he wasn't being honest. Once they were together, it was too much, too fast. There wasn't enough "get to know you" time. The situation with Allie felt too unresolved. Allie was Brooklyn's BFF and then, what? It's just sort of glossed over. Did they come to some agreement, are they still friends, do they hate each other?Hendrix and Nina were good characters, but I wish they had been fleshed out a little more. What happened with Hendrix and Sarah? It isn't that I didn't like this book, it just felt unfinished to me. I still have unanswered questions. I am still a fan of Ms. Contreras, and I look forward to future books.

Claire Contreras is a Magical Writer!!! Blows me away every time!!!
We all have our favorite authors, you know the authors I’m talking about. The authors that you can’t wait til they write another book kind of authors. You stalk their Facebook pages dying to see what they are working on. You fangirl them telling them that they complete your life…the total, complete truth. You hold your breath and when you finally get their book on your ereader, you are completely blissful. Like you don’t wanna do anything else--you savor every word, you live, eat, breathe and soak them up and cry when it’s over. That is what Claire Contreras does for me. When I read There Is No Light in Darkness and Darkness Before Dawn, I fell IN LOVE. I couldn’t wait to read Catch Me because I knew…I just knew that I would fall in love all over again.Brooklyn has not had an easy life. Sure she has tons of money, a job she loves…and one she doesn’t really want. She has her brother and best friend, Shea, who fill in some gaps, but she doesn’t have what she needs. At twenty-five years old, she has experienced heartbreaking pain and has been torn to shreds by her oh-so-beautiful fashion model mother and tossed aside by her music icon father. Her own life has been “a basket of beautiful lies. One I’ve learned to carry around, even though I don’t like to pick from it.”Nick is Shea’s producer and has a reputation of being the Slam, Bam, thank you ma'am type. They meet and the outside word doesn’t exist. He mesmerized me. He captivated me. He melted me and turned me inside out. His soul, his voice, his heart, his eyes: “The blue that makes you want to name a crayon because it’s so magnificent. The shade that makes you want to dive in. Of course I know there’s a great white shark waiting for me in that beautiful water if I dare to take the leap.”GOD did I want to DIVE IN…like full on swimming-throwing myself into the great big ocean without a life jacket.“So what if he looks like a God himself sauntered down here and sprinkled gold all over him. So what if he smells like one of those little ads that come in GQ magazine for men to sniff the next perfume of their choice? He could totally model for one of those ads too.”DAMNIT WHY DON’T THEY MAKE SCRATCH AND SNIFF BOOKS!?!?The first kiss…the most incredible almost first kiss…Claire had me DYING—twisting my heart, wishing I could jump into the book and take Brooklyn’s place. I needed his lips on mine like I need air. I don’t want to give it away, but I’ll give you a taste.“I open my mouth automatically for his, but he doesn’t kiss me. He sucks on my bottom lip, slowly, savoring it, moaning as he does it, making me feel like it’s the best thing he’s ever tasted in his life.”OMFG…I think I just fainted.Brooklyn doesn’t realize “how lost she was until he found her.”Will he help her find herself? Will he save her from herself? Will he fill in the empty pieces of her heart? Will he Catch Her?Claire is a master of her craft. She keeps you awake til all hours of the night thinking about her characters, falling in love with them. There are twists and turns and HOLY CRAP moments that leave you oh so satisfied. This novel was one that I will not forget. It’s like that first ice cream cone on a hot summer day, the first blossoming flower in spring, the first burnt orange leaf that falls in autumn, and the first snowflake that lands on your tongue in winter. No matter how many times you’ve experienced these firsts, they never cease to amaze you. No matter how many of Claire's books you read, you feel completely in awe of how breathtakingly beautiful they are. They warm your heart and seep into your soul. There are not enough words to describe my thoughts on Catch Me. It's a do-not-miss, you-will-love-every-word book.

Brilliant book
I read Claire's previous 2 books and loved them, love her writing style. This book is a very different storyline, it has everything great characters and depth. The main female character Brooklyn has had a challenging life, particularly her relationship with her parents, she has all the money needed but is lacking in unconditional love and support. This book has it all, music, drugs, humour, love and sadness. Brooklyn suffers from depression, the way Claire described this was amazing, it was detailed and easy to imagine her state of mind at those times the depression took over.Nick was a great character, hot, loving and so supportive of Brooklyn. Nina her cousin was funny, really liked her. I would like to have known if Shea did get help in the end?Love this book and would definitely recommend it.

Not bad!!
I got this at a bargain price and couldnt wait to read as all the reviews were brilliant. Whilst i did enjoy it, for me like the 3 star reviewer has said there was something missing. The storyline worked well and the characters were great, but i felt there were some conversations that should have been had between the main characters over certain issues, but were glossed over instead (difficult to say without spoiling!!). Will be interesting to see if the author does a second book as i think i need more to feel complete. Overall not a bad read and if there was a follow on book i would definatley read (hint, hint).

Strong words....
I love how this book goes more into talkin about depression rather than the normal I'm depressed so don't get out of bed for a week which is what you get in most books. I love how the ups and downs and sometimes feeling nothing at all and how it comes in bursts not there all the time. It's so true... I like how it talks about the bad side of drug rather than the oh yea were going out and doing a line and it's just a weekend best buzz ever type weekend as a lot know it just doesn't happen like that it consumes you and breaks you.. but most off all I love the story... thank you it saw me through another day which is why I read a book a day except this was in the top league right up there with Paige....x..

This one blew me away!
Every now and then a book comes along that has so many ingredients that are used elsewhere (sex, drugs, rockstars, troubled girl....you get the picture) and instead of pulling them together into something mediocre, creates something fantastic. This is one of those books! Not only is it hot, hot, hot, it's also got a soul, the heroine isn't whiny and the hero, although alpha, is at the base of it all a really good guy. No annoying characters here, folks, it's all good! What more can I say? Read it, enjoy it, and Claire, please write more like this.

CATCH ME
WOW! What a book! I have not read such a good book for ages I have loved everyone of the characters and the book has kept me reading and not once did I skip a page being bored. This covers so many problems with a couple of people that make you want to laugh and cry. I would love this author to write a book about Shea and his journey forward. I Can't say much about the book as I would not like to give anything away but just say it is sooooo meaningful and hits lots of raw nerves but also romantic. I would recommend this book 100%
