Professional Tool for Cleaning Slip Rings on Welder/Generator Armatures.
This stone is critical to reach & clean the slip rings on portables welder generators while the engine is running. The secondary benefit is the slip rings help re-seat the armature brushes as part of the cleaning process and helps the system produce the full power output.Only negative was the product did not include the holder for the stone and the packaging was only an envelope, so the stone was broken into two parts when it arrived. It was still usable but an inconvenience that could be prevented with bubble wrap added.

Good quality!
Was able to clean the armature on a couple of diesel powered pipe line welders.they were not working due to dirty and uneven wear.

Used this stone when changing brushes on Miller Trailblazer 280NT. Worked well to help limit run-in time and shine up the rings.

Seems small
Seems small for the price you get, and it deteriorates quickly when used. Hopefully I’m not seating brushes on DC motors enough to need it much.

Cleaned up copper traces on welder!
Took just a few minutes to clean up copper commutator traces on my diesel 3ph welder. Worked excellent! Added new brushes and system was up and running like new! Left copper commutators shiney and new looking, removed black oxide quickly with out hurting them.
