I damaged my original case. At some point I must have dropped my Switch and didn't think anything was wrong until weeks later when I went to change the cartridge and noticed the back panel was loose where it should not be. Then a few more months went by and I dropped it on concrete - good and hard. This broke even more of the back panel and one of the joycons.I didn't notice how extensive the damage was until I went to put this back plate on. I broke half of the mounting tabs, but most of them are part of the back plate, so this replacement plate fixed all but one broken tab/standoff.Good feel, easy replacement, seems durable and of good quality. I'll try not to drop my Switch again to test it.

The overall experience of installing it was fun, somewhat frustrating and a learning opportunity for sure. My only advice is to take it slow, watch as many videos as possible and be EXTRA careful when you unscrew the outside Switch and Joycon screws, as they are VERY soft and they WILL strip easily! I ended up stripping three screws and had to rip off my old back plate (I do NOT recommend this) to unscrew the stripped screws with pliers.The installation was made harder by my own negligence. Always be careful and never keep forcing the screwdriver if it will not catch on the screw. If you reach a point where your screw is starting to strip, try using a different screwdriver. If that isn't working, try using a rubber band for traction, or carefully and firmly pressing the screwdriver head into the screw and GENTLY wiggling back and forth.Beautiful shell for both the back plate and joycons, my only issue being the fact that the back plate came with a tiny and dark stain that won't come off. But overall, I highly recommend these to anyone who has the time and patience to tackle the task!

Such a lovely color and texture. My trusty Switch V1 was getting a little too worn looking even for my eight-year-old. I decided to try this in purple and a new pair of white joy cons. What a difference! Easy to install and comes with everything in the box except the hardware to secure the kickstand, making the one they sent in the mail useless for me. A++

I bought this along with joycon shells and buttons. I love the look and feel and the color is true to picture. The included screwdrivers were not usable in this kit. The ends were damaged and frayed which caused a stripped screw on the backplate and made it a nightmare to get out. Part manufacturing error part user. Had I noticed the issue I would have not used it. The replacement screws are great! I replaced all the y's with them and they work so much better for me. Super easy to install once you get the original plate off and the kick stand feels a lot more durable that the original also. I don't use it often but it doesn't worry me to open it like the one Nintendo includes.Four stars for poor quality screwdrivers.

My back shell cracked so needed to replace it, but I got this and It was super easy to install, love the color and looks great! Happy the add the screws and tools to install toke about 30 mins! Happy with my purchase

This is probably one of the easiest ways to customize your switch. Really durable and the texture is amazing.

Very easy to use, comes with instructions but a little bit of intuition and youll be done in no time, only thing is I suggest a case with grip on it if you plan to use handheld mode a lot as the texture is very smooth, i havent really used it in handheld mode since swapping the plate but its quite slippery

Amazing products, fits like factory. Replaced all shells with the soft touch Mint green. Would have liked the game cartridge flap to be included with the rear panel and not the front panel. Rear panel is the easiest replaceable part. You will have to transfer over the hardware for the kick stand.
