This book claims it is 10 books in one. It actually organizes this book into 10 "books". The first "book" gives you the "basics" of investing: stocks and bonds, then mutual funds, ETF, and annuities. Then it covers several investment vehicles and options in the following books: futures, options, commodities...etc. The last book talks about how to read analysis. I feel that books 1 and 10 should be put together and read first. I really don't think this is an introductory book for investing. If you want to learn about investing, you probably should start with something like Mutual Funds For Dummies, 6th edition. That is the book I read to learn about investing. I would say this book is for someone who already knows the investment basics and seeks to understand different options. It is a good survey, but I feel that you need to find more details about a specific topic by researching more through other books of that specific topics or internet.

I can't describe into words how much purpose this bookcan serve anyone who take the time to read it from cover to cover. You too can become a financial genius!

When someone talks about investing, what does that mean to you? To me it meant stocks and real estate. Those are the two that everyone hears about. But there are many different investment vehicles and I didn't even know where to begin to look. This book gives very broad coverage of various investment opportunities, and enough depth to get you started in them. For me, that's exactly what I wanted - a much better idea of what kinds of investment opportunities are out there. Some of the things covered by the book were just buzz words to me (commodities trading, currency trading, etc.), and others I'd never heard of before. I wanted a book that filled in the large gaps in my knowledge of investing. With a broad base, I can then pick the investment vehicles that work best for me.This book accomplishes that. It will make you aware of many different investment opportunities. From there, it's up to you.

I got it for a gift for a friend , ,so I don't know.
