Working out for now with some little tweaks
I decided to buy this inexpensive auto feeder for our now while I'm researching getting a refrigerated, high-end, feeder, as I wasn't sure I wanted to go the ice-block route to risk freshness. I've used it a few times and so far it's done the job if I need to leave a short period of time during kitty meal time. The longest I've test is 6 hours and I am satisfied with this feeder for now, but definitely need a refrigerated solution for peace of mind. I have MacGyvered this enough to make it useable for now: 1. It doesn't make an alert sound to let the cats know when the food is ready/open. So I placed metal measuring spoons on top to clatter to the floor when the lid opens (Yes, I thought of using a dedicated digital time, but those don't turn off on their own and I didn't want to drive the cats crazy!) 2. Since i didn't want to use the plastic bowns it came with, I used some stainless small pet food bowls I had - 5.5" diameter and they fit inside. 3. Regarding if it stays cold enough, I had no way to measure this, so I refrigerate the stainless bowls and can of food ahead of time, and then I put 2 ice cubes in each bowl (the cats like their pate soupy already.) 4. Height - since the cats use a food stand for their bowls regularly, I put this automatic feeder on a plastic box to reduce neck strain. Other notes - The timer dials are rather tough to turn, there's nothing to grip onto so that your fingers don't slide off. The cats will be able to smell the wet food inside, but mine haven't broken through yet. I hooked both lids together to open for both cats at the same time. The best I've been able to figure out through little tests (takes forever to do this fyi), is that it's best to try to set both timers for the same amount of time because it seems to help both of the lids stay "locked" until open (I did need to google how to set the times, as there seem to be some little random things to know about it) Overall, I'm satisfied with this feeder and it buys me time to try to decide which more expensive auto feeder I want to get. This was a good value for now since I don't need it constantly yet.

Great pet feeder!
This product works so well for early morning feeding and also if you step out for a bit you can also feed your pet. I have. I had others. This is the easiest for me and I can count on it that it will work every time.

Works fine but too easy for cat to open
These trays work decently and are very reliable at opening. They are easy for my cat to eat from, decent size, and easy to clean. There is a small ticking noise from the system, but it isn't loud at all. My main complaint is that after only a few weeks of watching the feeder, my cat learned that the timer physically released the food, and it became very easy for him to learn how to turn the knob with his teeth to get his food whenever he wanted. The timer also has very narrow margins between each houe line, so if precision matters for you, it's hard to tell if the timer is actually at 4 hours or more like 4.5 or 5 hours. The ice packs keep cold in the container for ~8 hours so I felt comfortable prepping food for 11-12 hours in advance. It's very hard for any automatic feeder to keep wet food cold that long but it at least gets close so that food is only sitting at room temperature for 2-3 hours.

Feeder does its job
Cat feeder works great.Timer pretty accurate and opens cats had no problem eating from the feeder kept food cold and ready to eat within the 9 hr time for opening.I put cat food in fridge night before and helps with ice pack to keep food cold . I wanted to elevate feeder so I just used the box feeder came in and cut where bottom fits in box use as a pedestal so my cats are more comfortable eating their food.

4 OUT OF 4 OF THESE IS GARBAGE
So this cat timer bowl was a good idea, and nice try but they need to go back to the drawing board and design something that actually works the way it's is intended to. Unfortunately there is no way you could feed 2 cats at same time, it is highly unlikely that both lids would open at the same time. Timer numbers aren’t even correct. I set it on a even number and it still takes hours to open. The first one that I ordered one of the lids didn't open completely. The second one I ordered the left side would get stuck near the 0 point and would sit there for hours before opening, (this would only happen occasionally). So no I am on my fourth of these timer bowls and it is doing the same thing get stuck on the zero point, Or doesn't open when it should. Not sure why it needs 48 hours of timer on there; an ice pack is only going to last about 6-8 hours (you definitely need to buy an extra ice pack that way when one Comes out one can go into the freezer). They should make less hours and bigger numbers with 1/2 hour marks. Also, the weight of the machine should have been heavier. Unless you have a nonslip pad under the device, It will move around. I have mine propped on something to make it higher with non slip material under cat bowl. basically this cat bowl is garbage. So basically now I am mostly using the bowl to put the food in the night before and then I have to manually open it. It's less work than going to the refrigerator and getting everything out in the morning. Still just a useless machine, never know if it's going to open or not open on time. Lately it has not been opening at all. So it basically is going in the garbage either that or I can set it by my head while I sleep and manually open it when it's time.

Absolutely Perfect. I love it. Miss Shandy Sue loves it more!
I just started a job as a tax accountant and am working long hours through October 15th. This means my chihuahua was missing her 2pm greenie and her 9pm homemade biscuit. Not good. I ordered a similar product previously, and it did not work at all. Sent it back right away. When I set this one up, at first I thought it didn't work because I couldn't hear it ticking. The ticking is a big complaint with most models. It seemed like it was working, but I couldn't hear it so I set it on the table and went about my business. Sure enough, 1 hr later, it flung open. Shandy was delighted! I like the long time allowed because I always set it up the night before. No problem with the timer. Sure, it might not be exact to the absolute minute, but neither am I when I'm handing treats out. No big deal. This is such a stress reliever for me. I've had my dog for 3 years and have been at home the entire time. The Cat Mate (or dog) C200 Automatic Feeder gives me peace of mind and keeps my dog happy. Win. Win. It seems sturdy enough for our use.

Works, but timer not accurate
Overall it does the job. The two compartments can act separately or, you can attach a plastic piece that comes with it so both hatches open at the same time. I like that is an option but you have to set both timers and they both have to go off before the hatches to open. However the main issue I found is that it’s impossible to get any kind of accuracy with the timer knobs. The timers are a 48 HOUR knob, so each tiny line is a whole hour. It would be nice if they clicked at each hour interval at least but it just slides seamlessly. Further there is some give to the knob so it’s unclear where the timer is set right on a line even if you’re doing it very meticulously. It’s also a pain to calculate down how many hours until feeding time because I don’t end up filling it at the exact time each night. The second, less significant issue I found was that it opens pretty quietly. That could be a nice feature but one of my cats caught on quickly to the new device but the other didn’t so I ended up having to tape some bells to the lids so the one didn’t rush over and eat both their food. Third, it’s note worthy that this thing will tick like a clock 24/7. I keep it in the kitchen so it doesn’t bother me, but I’m extra sensitive to noise so this would bother me if it were in my bedroom. One last criticism: The ice pack feature is a good idea but I’m not sure how effective it is for wet food. As the food warms it drove one of my cats crazy and he started the habit of trying to break into the device at 4am which was worse than them waking me up to be fed. (To the products credit he never succeeded.) I even tried freezing the wet food beforehand also but as it defrosted the same issue occurred. So I switched to dry food but would have just bought an automatic feeder that’s more suited for dry food if that’s what I was going to do in the first place. I still give it three stars because some of these issues wouldn’t effect some people and I can imagine still using this for wet food, if I’ll be gone for a feeding and don’t care exactly when it goes off or if the cats try to break into it for an hour.

Helpful for cat on prescription wet diet
This feeder has been a huge help to feed my cat at the proper times for her prescription diet. Before buying it, I went over the reviews of lots of similar products, as well as the ones for this. This is what I found about the common concerns with this products: 1. When using wet food, it is better to chill the plate before putting it in the feeder, as well as using the ice packs. The metal inserts are very useful as they freeze quickly. 2. The ice pack last about 8 hours at room temp (20-25 *C). It does maintain wet food acceptably moist even without pre-chilling the plate, as reviewed by my cat. Food on a regular plate only keeps the moisture up to 3 h. 3. The timer is accurate, although difficult to set at a specific time because of its design. The noise is minimal, and does not dings. 4. The battery needs to be replaced every year and a half. I’m using a Duracell AA. I saw complaints of the feeder not opening. I’m guessing that it could be because of the battery loosing power, not because the mechanism is stuck. The dial continues to turn right, even after reaching the 0 mark, so it is highly unlikely that it would stay stuck under normal battery levels and a healthy lid spring. 5. Because the feeder does not dings, it could be difficult to train a cat that is not that food oriented. I added two bells for each lid so it rigs once the pop up. It does help. So far, we are very happy with this feeder as it allow us to keep up with my cat needs

Super
Świetnie sprawdza się na codzień. Niestety, po jakimś czasie kot wyłamał jedną z klapek zamykających, nie można dostać nigdzie do dokupienia, przez co możemy już tylko ustawić 1 pojemnik

Easy peasy
Simple to use, tricky to see if the battery is making the dial move but after a test run you know it does but a great option for over night or weekend trips away

Excellent product
No problem with this product. Easy to use and it opens automatically when the timer clicks around to the desired time setting. I use it on a weekly basis and definitely recommend it.
