Lew'sTeam Lew's Custom Pro Speed Spin Spinning Reel

I like this reel a lot. I put it on a 7’ MH carbon rod and it does just about anything I want. Seems to cast for miles. It was a little rough out of the box but after oiling it up properly it’s nice and smooth. No issues so far. Landed a few bass with it with worms and swim baits.

Great reel, my 30 yr old Shimano's finally wearing out. Live on water, fish 120 days a yr minimum. Needed good reel to stand up to amount of fishing. These reels are great, good drag, cast well, lay line on reel evenly distributed, work with both mono and braid. One thing learned over years is to manually return bail, don't crank to return bail. These reels probably would take that but most lesser reels have parts that wear an bail return stops.

Pro performance on at a VERY fair price. Have been using 3 if these for about a year for bass fishing, when "finesse" tactics required such as drop shotting, ned rigs, neko rigs, wacky rigging senkos. Very durable, drag is top notch. Have hooked (not on purpose) and landed stripers up to 9 lbs. when fishing for largemouth and spotted bass on 4 and 6 lb. line because of the quality of the drag.Casts well, smooth retreive. On heavier line up to 10 lb., have easily handled bass up to 6 lbs.I am not a believer of using braid on spinning reels, as it requires an extra knot, which becomes the weak link in your landing chain.I am also not a believer in flourocarbon line on spinning reels, as it is not pliable, giving it too much "memory", leading to far too much line twist. I use strictly Trilene XL, so a smooth and reliable drag is VERY important to me.This reel fits the bill without breaking your wallet.I recommend the 4000, because of larger spool size. Small spools = more line twist.

It’s an excellent reel definitely worth the money and then some. Very smooth with an excellent drag. One of the best $100 reels you can buy.

I love the reel ordered one more. The only thing I dont like is the bale wont open unless its in the correct position. However, dont let this stop you, its a fine reel.

Avid spinning reel user with wants normally exceeding that which I should, but still spend... with that in mind, I bought this to mount on a higher end med-fast Ducket with spiderwire smooth 15lb braid (excellently smooth btw) on the hunt for striper and large-mouth in NE Texas. Fished four days, solid and smooth action with effortless precise casts, except for user error. Ran shallow and medium crank, top water and your normal run-of-the-mill lures. Easy retrieve on the 3 1/2 pounders caught and I only cried a few times watching 6+ pounders pulled in off of bobbers and bait. My other setup for this trip was my tried and true St. Croix rod with temperamental Pfluger supreme that I wish was an original Presidential reel from the early 2000’s.I will certainly buy more of these Lew’s reels in the future and would recommend them to any of my buddies.

Everything is right and smooth. Definitely a quality product.

This is one of the finest spinning reels i have ever had. the drag is smooth, the wind is level, it is super light, and can handle any freshwater fish. if even use mine for sliver salmon. I'm a fly fisherman at heart, but i like this reel so much i spin cast with it just for the fun.

Great reel, smooth and perfect for trout with my Lew’s 6’9 TP1 black spinning rod

The good news - I have it on a two piece 7ft Med/Fast Fenwick Eagle spinning rod (1/8-3/4 lure: 6-12lbs line) with 6lb test mono-filament and it works as good as I could wish. It is everything that I expected.However, so far I have only used it for two days and caught two Walleyes.Hopefully, it will still be performing the same 5 years and 500 fish from now.
