Be Warned
This book contains way too many errors. I'm not the strongest resident academically so I feel if I'm finding errors then how often am I missing errors and committing the fallacious information to memory. Sometimes it's clearly mismarked but others are just outright wrong. I'd say on average I find one to two significant errors per chapter. My second complaint is the layout of the questions make them artificially easy. They tend to group questions of entities and similar entities together and therefore you already have an idea what the question and answer will be. They should have randomly ordered the questions. My last complaint is the pictures are the same pictures from the 5th and 6th edition of Sternberg so sometimes I get the answer right because I remember the picture from my reading, not necessarily because I was able to identify the gross and histologic features.I recommend the J. Lefkowich AP review book for preparations for board; the questions are much harder and the pictures aren't from any source I've seen. I would avoid this book. Junior residents may not be able to identify the incorrect information and senior residents may find the questions too easy.Example of Error: Page 365 has an example of papillary RCC and ask which features can be found, four of the features are found in PRCC so answer E, all of the above should be the correct answer; however, the answer key has A, foamy macrophages as the correct answer. When you read the explanation for the question it states that all of the listed features can be found in PRCC, so E was intended to be the correct answer. This leads to several problems. 1) If you weren't completely confident but suspected the answer was all of the above and you thought you were wrong you might commit to memory that the only feature of PRCC is foamy macs. 2) If you didn't know the answer and just guessed A, it might reinforce a wrong answer. If someone just wrote memorized and didn't read the explanation or read the support material in the text they could miss this error.

Excellent review . The differential diagnosis & complex concepts are clarified here. Essential as a companion to Sternberg's big book. Photomicrographs highlight key areas of diagnostic difficulty which helps trainee pathologists as well as consultants . This review book also motivates us to read through the larger volumes of Sternberg's. I have purchased the kindle version so that helps me update my diagnostic skills anytime anywhere.

Very good review book for practice and especially board exams
Very good review book for practice and especially board exams, although it seems great if there are more images and WHO tumor classification included is a timetable as well as one cytology chapter
