Overall a terrific flat iron that also travels well.
I purchased this two months ago, prior to a trip to France and a cruise. The dual voltage is what I needed, and the included converters were icing on the cake. The unit worked perfectly in both France (with converter) and on the cruise ship (no converter needed). The unit heats up to default temperature 400F in 1 minute, 15 seconds, and straightened my bangs beautifully without catching or pulling any stands. The plates are longer than my other iron, so I was able to work on more hair at time. The plates also squeeze closer together than I am used to, which helps smooth hair faster. I love it so much I have continued to use it since I returned home, and relegated the old one (which was more expensive) to storage. Speaking of storage, the storage bag is great resistant and fit the flat iron with cord and one converter perfectly. I also love that the unit can be locked into a closed position.Of note, I paid for my unit in full, so no fake opinion here. I am tired of the free products for positive opinions racket, and wish Amazon would do away with it. I'm disappointed this product has resorted to that.

Perfect for hairstyling around the world!
While planning a trip to Ireland I began my search for the perfect hairstyling item. At home I use a flat iron almost exclusively to curl my hair. Searching on travel boards for the correct adaptors for my flat iron I learned that american voltage is so different from european countries that most hairstyling products overheat and are ruined even when using adaptors. Searching through Amazon Reviews I found the Salona Professional 1" Titanium Flat Iron Hair Straightener and I am very impressed. It comes equipped with a US plug and adaptors specifically made for the flat iron for three other outlet types. So far I have used the UK plug and the US plug and both worked with no problems. The flat iron worked just as well and the one I use at home, and is a great backup. It also comes with a great heat proof carrying case which is invaluable. I have been known to stick my flat irons in a hot pad! This is a much better choice. I am very pleased!

Didn’t last
Only lasted a few weeks and it won’t stay hot and the lights blink off and on.

Pleasantly surprised! Didn't expect it to be as good as it is!
I bought this to use as a travel iron because of the adapters. I have used a CHI flat iron for years. I thought I should try this one out before I decide to take it on an overseas trip. Well....I'm sold. I love it! It is lightweight and now I don't want to use my expensive CHI any longer. It flattened my thick and course hair as well as my CHI. I normally lose a few hair when flat ironing. I had less hair pull with the Salona. I love that it came with a bag and the adapters for international travel. It also has great features such as blue light indicating temperature, temperature control and also shuts off if you forget to after a few minutes. This straightener will now become my straightener of choice. Bye bye CHI!

Great for the price, good features and accessories, but does not glide smoothly
The flat iron does all that is advertised--it works dual voltage great (you don't even need to flip a switch or anything--it just works). I tried it both in the US and in the UK with no problems. The heat bag is really nice, and I like the electronic display as well--very easy and intuitive to read. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is the actual act of using it is less pleasant. It doesn't smoothly glide across my hair like other straighteners I have used. I have owned several different kinds, and this is the least smoothly gliding one I have ever had. However, it works perfectly, and my hair looked great afterwards. For the price, I doubt there's anything better (and certainly not with dual voltage and a heat bag), but it doesn't have the professional "experience" using it.When I bought this, almost every single review was from people who had received it in exchange for their review (if you are curious about my review, I paid full price and was never asked to review it in exchange for the product or a discount). I was hesitant for that reason, and I don't think it's as good as those reviews make it out to be. However, I am reasonably happy with the purchase--I will definitely use it for the occasional time I need to go abroad. For at home use in the US, though, I will be sticking with my old straightener.

Great product. No complaints.
This is a great product. I don't have a lot of experience with straight irons (this is my first) but this product functions properly. I did burn my finger on it because the plates do get very very hot, so be careful.I like how there is a switch to lock the clamp closed. I use that when the iron is sitting on my dresser warming up. The heat resistant pouch is also very nice. I like being able to wrap everything up and keep it protected. The buttons are along the side edge, which may result in hitting one with your finger while using. So just be aware of it. I haven't had a problem with it. The edges of the hot plates curve a little on the sides which is great for if you want to curl your hair and because it prevents your hair from being pulled and getting snagged.I haven't used the plug converters, but it is a nice little extra thing to use if you travel abroad.

Not hot enough!!
I was so excited to get this product for an upcoming trip to Europe. When it arrived I decided to use it before the trip just to make sure it worked, grabbed by hair (very thick, coarse, long). All features are great EXCEPT one. This iron only heats to 400 degrees. I completely missed that before I purchased it because I was so busy reading all the positive reviews. If you have long, thick, coarse hair you know that you need a higher temp for your hair. Don't make this mistake. It took me over 30 min to straighten my hair and I still had bumps and valleys in the middle. I guess I'm back to looking for another one that heats to at lease 430.
