It’s a little expensive but worth every penny if you’re doing detailed pottery

This tool is great for carving clay. I love it.

Pros: Probably my favorite, most-used ceramic design tool. If you like sgrafitto and to incise thin-line designs into your clay, this is indispensable-- unlike needles and ball tip tools, it removes the clay from the incisions. Allows very tight turns and easy variation in thickness of incised line. Con: It's a thin wire, so not the most durable tool, expect to replace it every so often, especially if you use it on leather-hard ware. I always have a couple of them on hand for that reason, you can afford to at this list price.

This arrived glued in very crooked. It was packaged well so it wasn’t damaged in shipping. Quality control problem. Didn’t expect this from kemper.

Really fine lines! Exactly what I was looking for for clay carvings!

Upon initial inspection, this pottery tool seems a little cheaply made. The weight and size feel fine, and I can see how it would get good use for basic projects. I haven’t actually used it yet, so I can’t speak to long-term functionality or ease of use, but for the price, the value for money seems reasonable.
