Sew-link Cover Stitch Double Fold Edge Binder Attachment Folder Works with Janome, Elna, Singer, Brother Sergers

It works but there is room for improvement
For the price, this binder works wonderfully. I've been using it to bind the necklines and sleeves of handmade garments and I love the results. (see photo of front and back of bindings)But I'm giving it only 4 stars because of three issues: (1) there are no instructions and I had to go online and use my coverstitch book to figure out how to use it. (2) it didn't come with screws that attach it to the coverplate so that's two extra pieces you need to order for this to work properly (coverplate and set screws). and (3) the channel where the 2 screws attach is wide enough that the binder can shift even when thoroughly tightened. This means your binding alignment can drift while sewing. I hear other people use bluetac or sticky tac to keep things in place and that works, but the screw channel really should be engineered for a better fit. ( I have no idea if the Janome version has this problem, maybe it does) You may also want to get the clear foot because I think the factory foot is too long to work with this binder. I got the clear foot from Sew-link and it's perfect.Once I get the binder and coverplate aligned and then sew scraps so I know the shifting is out of the way, then it stays in place and feeds the binding perfectly for professional results. I would recommend this attachment and I'm actually considering buying the single fold version as well.
