Astemo MAF0052 Mass Air Flow Sensor

My prior issue, on my MK5 GTI w/K04, was a high 'partial/multiplicative' fuel trim. I was down to it being (besides the tune) either the MAF or B1S1 O2 sensor. So I picked replacing the MAF first, as it would be less expensive to replace of the two. Although this MAF didn't improve on the Fuel trim 'partial'...my average MPG, since the MPG data was reset in early June (this is Sept. 8), has gone up from 26 MPG to 29.8 MPG. So that's something. So I am left with still discovering why its fuel trims still add near 10% when cruising. All in all, this Hitachi MAF is a good non-genuine replacement.

Amazon charges comparable Hitachi sensor prices, compared to most online websites. Hitachi is the OEM MAF sensor for these VW/Audi cars. The sensor arrived in a white Hitachi box, neatly wrapped in bubble wrap. I installed it and it worked fine, only to have the part fail within 3 months. No warning, instead the part failed without warning. Cleaning did not make a difference. When I removed the MAF, I realized that why I had purchased was not a legit Hitachi part. The part numbers and brand where scratched off. Perhaps my fault, for not inspecting the part upon installation and arrival, but how can Amazon allow these scams to happen under their nose. I am ordering another MAF from a different website that is a dedicated parts distributor. Buyer beware and stay away from these low quality high priced junk. Be careful Amazon shoppers.

does not work have to send it back taken to 4 different mechs. and every one cannot find whats wrong with car code reader keeps saying replace mass oil sensor so the new sensor they sent me is no good
