Outstanding Concert, Cheap Price
In September of 1981 arraignments had been put together for a one time concert at New York's Central Park bringing back together the legendary folk/rock duo Simon and Garfunkel. It would become a perfectly magical evening as Paul and Art would give the performance of their career. A perfect concert for a perfect night.I love watching and listening to this concert all the time. I never tire hearing it. One reason of course would be I am such a huge fan of Simon and Garfunkel but the other reason is plain and simply this is a great recording. Over the years I have had this concert on various forms of media. First I recorded it on 8-track tape when a local radio station broadcasted the concert live. By the time I nearly wore out that 8-track I had found the concert on CD. Then I purchased the concert on DVD. Still never grew tired of this performance. Now I have downloaded the concert on my phone from Prime Video. If this doesn't give you an idea just how much I love this concert I don't know what else to say to convey how much I enjoy this. If you are a fan of Simon and Garfunkel then you got to consider downloading this video. It is well worth it and I purchased it at a ridiculously cheap price. I'm still thinking someone goofed on the price of this download but I sure ain't complaining.

Still Breathtaking After All These Years
I have wanted this concert in my collection for years. When I saw that the format was not for the US, I was concerned. Thankfully, I popped this DVD into the machine built in to my TV, and it started to play, no problem. If it hadn't, I would have watched it on my computer. I love this concert. It captures a moment in time when two of the greatest artists of our generation were at the peak of their abilities. I am amazed by the clarity of sound. You would not believe it was filmed outside in front of 500,000 onlookers--it seems so intimate. I still can't believe there is no jumbo tron at the front of the stage--I guess the people a few thousand rows back just came to be part of the history! And who could blame them? I wish I'd been there, too.

Great Performance
Outstanding set from New York in the 1980’s. You’ll never see them like this again so I’d suggest you grab a copy before they all disappear. This PAL format plays just fine on any current region free blu ray player - Sony machines seem to cover just about everything. Gee I miss these guys.

It brings back memories.
This concert occurred just after I got married. I always loved Simon and Garfunkel's music, and was so thrilled they got back together for this concert. Unfortunately, they still seem like their friendship is strained, and also do not appear to be comfortable talking with the audience. The music is great, though.

What's not to like
I don't agree with any of the quibbles with this video. My impression was that, while certainly it is clear there is tension between Paul and Art, both put their heart and soul into this performance. The versions of Sounds of Silence, Parsley Sage Rosemary and Thyme, American Tune, America, and other songs are fabulous. The back up band is outstanding. Most remarkable of all is how Paul and Art, even though they rework the rhythm of many of the songs, sing in absolute synch without even looking at each other, as if they are two halves of the same soul. Both men are in fine voice, the audience is totally enthralled, and Paul and Art even appear to warm up to each other towards the end. I could have done without the reprise of Late in the Evening and the Simon song Late Great Johnny Ace (my own quibbles!), but these are trivial in the context of this great concert.

A TREASURE
If your are giving Dylan a prize, you gotta give it also to Paul Simon, oh, and Neal Young - hell all the CSNY - and so many more from that amazing and unhealrded generation, Jackson Brown, Joanie Mitchel - sorry if I left you out - but its and age now that is devoid of depth, andf so its hard to name you all, my long lost friends... Now we have, in the word of Sorkin: the Worst. Generation. Ever. Period. For real depth and artistic purity, look no further.

I don't know how this was ever sold on Amazon!
I don't know how this was ever sold on Amazon! I ordered it, and it came instantly. I thought that it was too good to be true. I put it in my DVD player, and my player said, NOT VALID. I had never seen that before on a Sony DVD player. Then I tried to play it on my computer, and it started to play; but who want to watch an excellent concert on a computer monitor? So I returned it. It looks like someone is making these on there COMPUTER, and saying it is from AMAZON, and then selling it to all. What a joke.

The quality is excellent and what a pleasure to hear the duo live
I've been watching sample songs on You tube and decided I needed the entire concert. The quality is excellent and what a pleasure to hear the duo live. Arthur's voice has not diminished in quality here- but it's one of the concerts where you will here his voice before it sounds strained I later years. The magic in Paul Simon's production is a keeper in this DVD- his song writing, voice and composition. I love it. The highlighted song for me is Bridge over troubled water.
