Mail Boss 7536 Street Safe Latitude Locking Security Mailbox, Black

Woke up on a Monday morning to the discovery that someone ran over the mailbox in the night. After searching through many options, I decided to order the Mail Boss mailbox. Really wanted to build some massive, mean dent the crap out of your car concrete encasement, but opted to do a double post boxed in with wood. Threw the base together in an afternoon, mailbox arrived next day, side numbers arrived yesterday. The box is heavy, was easy to install following the directions, and my first mailbox install ever went very smooth. The front door is small but Mail Boss does make one with a larger drop door for thicker packages. I saw that version after install sadly. I love this box though. It arrived without any damage so everything works. Favorite feature is the rear opening mail retrieval door, so no more turning your back to the street to grab mail. It holds a good volume as well, in case you aren’t able to grab your mail daily. Will add some reflectors and maybe some solar landscape lighting to improve night visibility. Everything is nice and sturdy, solid, and should last for years and years to come. General note to the public… stop speeding in neighborhoods. It is a lot easier to keep control of your vehicle if you aren’t treating residential areas as “quick” cut-throughs to your destination. Damage to your car from a mailbox post/box is bad enough, but it could be a pet, a child, or the elderly next time. Slow down, be alert, be safe.

Very nice big box for mail and small packages. The lock mechanism has dual latches so is surprisingly strong and uses a unique style key/lock making it slightly harder to pick. Its heavy but solid and has a nice finish and no blemishes or sharp edges. The front has a little magnet to hold the drop slot closed and a metal clip for outgoing mail. Was easy to mount on the matching post by the same manufacturer. I almost want somebody to hit it to see what happens to their car.

Love this mailbox. High quality, holds more mail than you would need. The entry does not allow for packages but it’s fine for me. Easy to install but I used the post specifically from mailboss. I got it in black and it looks great It’s a little inconvenient for the keys but it comes with 3 so do with that as you wish.

First delivery had defects; a couple of small dents on the edges. Not sure if it was a return or manufacturer defect. Leaning toward mfr defect because packaging was good and the metal it's made with is incredibly sturdy. This is a solid unit that I expect to be durable. I contacted seller and they replaced with new one the next day that was in perfect condition and paid for the return of the original. Somewhat inconvenient, but I can't penalize them given the circumstances. As for the unit itself, I had it installed on the matching post from Mail Boss, which required additional labor and materials expense to cement the post in ground (I knew that going in; gave 3-stars for install because had to hire handyman to install the post but he had no trouble with it. The mailbox attaches to the post with 4 bolts. That part is super-easy). The end result looks great, seems quite secure and is suiting my needs. One thing that's totally unexpected is that birds like to perch on the flat surface, so it needs a wipe down a couple of times a week and I'm noticing some minor scratches from the bird claws, though so far they haven't pierced the paint (that's why I gave 4 stars for durability though again, this is a solid unit, it's not scratch-proof). Might need to buy some humane spikes to put on the mailbox to keep the birds away, but that will probably detract from the clean lines of this unit. One last thing: Black shows the dirt and water stains from the sprinklers. White would've solved a lot of these issues but this model only available in black. The white models all had the key on the street side; this unit is preferable because key is on sidewalk side, so no need to walk in street to get the mail.

This mail box is well made and very heavy. My mail carrier loves being able to slip small to medium size packages in it with the mail. My magazines and catalogs fit as well. Everything is secure and unable to be tampered with until I’m able to retrieve it. No more neighbors stealing my mail!

It's a beautiful, big, and modern mailbox. It was well packaged. It came with 2 keys. I haven't had any issues. I bought them almost a year ago. I love that the mail can be deposited in the front and that you can check it in the back. It does have a little learning curve for the mail people 😆 but one day I showed her and its been fine. It's very secure. Its a high quality mailbox. I love the color too. The only issue I noticed is that the bolts that screw into the bar has rusted and the key lock is easy scratched. But other than that everything's fine. Nothing had faded or peeled.

Very easy to install, I loved them. Excellent, very good price, the material is very good, very strong and very resistant. Muy buen material muy resistente y a buen precio me encantaron los recomiendo.

This locking mailbox is secure, sturdy, and worth every penny. It was easy to install on our sidewalk post. The only issue we've had is that the mail carriers don't always check to ensure mail pieces have dropped, but that's not a product design issue, just carriers in a rush.
