11S MAX Robot Vacuum Cleaner, Super Thin, Quiet

I previously bought a Deebot for use on our main level floor, where we spend most of our time at home. It works great and connects with our Google Home. But we run it in the middle of the weekdays because it's pretty noisy. Still, we really like the benefits of a robotic vacuum. So, we thought we might try it on our lower level. I set it up downstairs, but found that, while it seemed to pick up dirt, the back end bounced quite a bit over the berber carpet, which isn't an issue on the main floor which is hardwood with only one entry rug. So, we went about looking for an alternative for downstairs. We really wanted something that can connect with our Google Home, so that limited our options within our budget. There were lots of great reviews of iRobot products for carpet, but I had a hard time with the price. There were a few other brands, as well, but they were obscure brands, and I didn't want to be stuck with an expensive vacuum and no customer service. Eufy was a brand I kept in mind as I shopped because we'd had a lot of experience with their parent brand, Anker. They've always sold us a great product at a reasonable price, and importantly, if a product failed for any reason, we'd experienced great customer service. I finally decided I'd pull the trigger on the RoboVac 30C because it had the features we wanted. I ordered it from Amazon on Thanksgiving with a bunch of other stuff I wanted to get. I was a bit disappointed that there was no Black Friday pricing, but it was still very competitive over the deeply discounted Roomba models *(see below). It arrived on Sunday, so very quick shipping via Amazon Prime. We set it up right away. The first, VERY OBVIOUS thing we noticed... It's quiet* (see below). Way quieter than the Deebot. As we had hoped, it also picked up dirt from the carpet easily and without bouncing. The magnetic strips also helped to avoid another pitfall of the Deebot... We have these chairs with unusual bases that are low enough on the edges for the vacuums to drive themselves up on, then there's a hole about 3 inches from the edge that creates a cliff for the vacuum to get hung up on. Both vacuums will do that, but the Eufy 30C has those strips which it won't cross. Put the strips around the base of the chairs, and no hangups. The only issue right now is that, unfortunately, the Eufy app doesn't play with Google Home very well. We are assuming that will get fixed. And if it doesn't, the app works pretty well as a stand alone, which is the next best thing, so I won't dock any stars for that. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this vacuum so far. It does clean very well and doesn't have any problem doing approximately 400 square feet on a single charge around furniture and other odds and ends on the floor. *Customer service : Many vendors will contact Amazon customers shortly after purchase of one of their products to make sure all is well. Eufy did this. I thought I'd give them a preliminary review because I wanted to let them know that things were going well so far. I mentioned that it worked great (didn't know about the Google home issue, yet, but I was overall pleased). I mentioned as an aside that it was a tiny bit annoying that it arrived on Sunday and the Cyber Monday deal made a significant price difference. Still, I liked it enough that I wasn't going to be too annoyed. I certainly wasn't going to try to return it and buy it again to get the better price. A couple days later, they thanked me for my comments... And refunded me the difference in price. They definitely didn't have to. But it was pretty awesome of them. *Noise level: My hubby set up the schedule for the RoboVac 30C. He decided to go with the same schedule as the Deebot, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the middle of the day. But instead of setting it up for 12:01 pm, he set it for am. It was running in the middle of the night and we didn't know it for 2+ weeks. I discovered it when I decided to make sure to have the app on my phone too and saw the scheduling error. To be fair, we sleep on the upper level of our modified split level house and the RoboVac is on the lower level, but I have ears like a bat, and had no idea. And yes, it's cleaning - - I've been cleaning out the dust bin for it regularly. Definitely wouldn't have been that way with the Deebot. So, yeah. It's quiet.

I've never owned a robotic vacuum before, but I love gadgets and we just moved into a new home so it seemed like it was time. I considered more expensive offerings from Roomba etc, but consumer reports and other sites rate this one as highly or higher than a lot of the more expensive ones so I thought I'd give it a go. I'll start with first impressions and update as time goes on. First Impressions: The packaging was honestly really good and the materials that everything is made of were surprisingly good. Like I expected a lot more plastic and cheap parts, but it feels like they used really good materials, like glass on the top, good quality magnetic strips, etc. It looks good enough to leave docked out in the open (which the instructions recommend). Having never owned one from another brand, I can't compare, but I can't imagine they would be any nicer. It also comes with everything you need, and maybe even don't need, like batteries for the remote, sticky pads for the magnetic strips, zip ties to clean up cables, and a useful tool to clean gunk out of the brush if needed (more on that later). Setup was really easy. Basically plug it in, put it on the dock, and connect it using the app. Same as other wifi connected things. I will say however that the app is no frills, and lacks some basic good UI features. Stuff like you can't set a schedule for multiple days at once, you have to set each day independently. I wouldn't take off too many points for this since I don't expect a lot of functionality out of it, and I don't really have to mess with it much so the UI stuff doesn't get in the way much. I have also had some challenges where the app will frequently say the vacuum isn't connected, even though I know it has plenty of battery and is near the router. It only supports 2.4 GHz, which is kind of a bummer since most of my devices use 5, so maybe that's the issue. It's not a huge pain since I mostly let it run automatically, but I guess if you were away from home and wanted to start it manually, you might have issues. So far it seems to clean pretty well. I followed it around the whole first run and it did a pretty good job, although it doesn't necessarily seem to be the smartest thing I've ever seen. It doesn't follow much of a pattern, but it will sometimes follow a wall, and if it comes to a pillar or chair leg or something it will go all the way around before continuing. It might clean a small portion of one room before leaving to go clean somewhere else, so it may not complete a room in a single go (at least on automatic mode, there is a room mode). It makes me want to complain, but at the same time, it does seem to get everywhere eventually, so I can't say it misses things. It will leave zigzag lines on your carpet, but it surprisingly actually looks really clean and doesn't bother me. The first few runs it cleaned up A TON of stuff. I had no idea our house was that dirty honestly. Like we had to empty it every time it ran, and I did have to pick a bunch of hair out of it, which is a little annoying. The tool that comes with it makes it way easier, and the brush pops out easily, so even though it's a chore, it makes it as easy as possible for you. After a few runs, it started to pick up less stuff, so I guess that's the point of having it run every day, right? It's weird, it sometimes doesn't feel like it's doing that much, but after a few days I came home and was really surprised at how clean it made the house feel. Like there's just something about carpets that look vacuumed that make the whole house feel cleaner. On that point, I'm blown away. For a lot less money than other options, I feel like our house is noticeably cleaner without much work on our end. So for first impressions, I'm impressed. It's a solid vacuum that has done well for us so far. Just a few complaints, but it has definitely been worth it. Answers to some questions I had before buying: Will it scratch our hardwood floors? No, but it seems like if it ran over something that got stuck underneath it and drug it around, I guess that could. How long does it last? We have mostly hard wood, but some carpet and area rugs. We've been getting about an hour out of it I think, though I haven't timed it. That part is a little disappointing. I would be very surprised if you got 100 minutes like they claim. Does it get stuck easily? No... but it does get stuck if you don't take precautions. You'll have to pick up cords and other random crap you usually just leave on the floor. It's pretty powerful so it gets over most challenges, but we have had it get stuck on stuff we left lying around. Maybe cleaning that up is partially what makes it feel cleaner. Can it find its way home? We have a 1 story house with long hallways, but it still seems to find its way into the far rooms and can find its way back. It takes a long time to return home since it slows down, but I can tell it has a strategy that seems to work for it. Hopefully this helps. I would definitely recommend it so far, and will update after a few more weeks. UPDATE 12/31/18 So we've had Eufy for a while now and I still think it was a great purchase. It's probably one of the dumber robot vacs, but it's still great in my opinion. It's basically just random, with a slight bit of method to the madness, but who cares if you're running it every day so it gets to every spot eventually anyway? It sometimes takes a while to get home, but so far for us it always gets home... unless it gets stuck. I think I said it above, but I'll say it again, you'll have to change some things to keep it from getting stuck. Leave stuff on the floor? Eufy might get stuck. Have a chair with an opening almost the same size as Eufy? If he gets in there, he might get stuck. That being said, we've gotten to the point where he really doesn't get stuck anymore since it's not hard to keep him out of those places, especially with the magnetic strip they give you. I don't know what else to say about it honestly. It's a dumb robot vac, but it's so darn cheap and works pretty well. I would probably get 2 of these before buying a more expensive iRobot or other brand.

Skip to Pros/Cons for conclusion and evaluation. ***DO NOT BUY if your house is cluttered*** The 30c Eufy Robovac struggles a lot to find its home base...BUT, it Does usually make it back home. For that, i am very happy. Many times i am watching tv in the livingroom with my girlfriend and the robovac is trying to locate its charging base. It will often be within 10ft like in a hallway adjacent to the livingroom, but unable to work its way home from there without turning around and backtracking back into the kitchen for several minutes first. Place the charging base in the center of your house so that the farthest distances from the charging doc are minimized. My situation: The most expensive vacuum cleaner I have ever purchased was around $80. Robotic vacuums always seemed like a luxury/ needless expense. However, as i have less and less time and removed most of the carpet in my house and replaced it with hard floors like wood, plank vinyl, and porcelain tile. I wanted something to capture the dust and small pieces of dirt on the floors if i were to continue walking barefoot. That's when i began considering a robotic vacuum. I shopped around for about 3wks. I read and watched reviews and opinions on which one was best performing for certain types of flooring (carpeted vs hard flooring), best value, most reliable, internet connected, etc. The Eufy 30c was the one I selected even compared to iRobot, Samsung Powerbot, LG (loved the red color though), Neato Botvac D7 ($699), ILIFE A4s ($149), Shark Ion ($300 but bad reviews), Ecovac Deebot (this would have been my second choice because it was only $199 and had wifi+app, Purelife, and Xiaomi. Why i chose Eufy 30c. - meets my needs of hard floors and medium pile carpet. It has brushes and squeegee like flaps built into its roller brush similar to other higher end vacuums. - Has wifi+app. I really wanted this feature, otherwise i might have gone with the Eufy 30 for only $230 with coupon at the time of purchase. - Has edge cleaning function, can boost its suction when it senses carpet. - long battery life to cover my entire 1530 sq ft single level house. My house is in the shape of the capital letter "T". - Fit my budget. I could not afford the Irobot 970 or Neato D7. I also discovered that mapping out my house was not necessary to get clean floors. The random pattern does indeed work fine, it just takes longer. Cons: -Doesn't map out your floor, cleans in a random pattern. -EufyHome App schedule feature only allows you to schedule once per day, but that hasn't proven to be a problem for me as 1 cleaning per day has given me clean floors. -Struggled to return home. This is the most annoying issue. It only successfully returns home about 25% of the time, but that is likely because the charging doc is located in a big open livingroom on the other end of the house. So most times when the battery is low and it wants to return home, it is so far from the charging doc that it just cannot locate it. Typical behavior if the robovac: drives around for 30 minutes searching for its charging doc, gets about 1 room away from it, then goes farther away into the back of the house again. It always seems to follow edges or walls as an attempt at increasing its odds of getting close enough to the doc to recognize the signal it outputs. I thought the doc and the robovac used wifi at the same time to talk to each other, but that doesn't seem to be true. Pros: - wifi+app control with scheduling and other cleaning features. Locating function was useful when the robot became stuck on a cable underneath my tv stand with only 3" of clearance. That app tells the robot to make a series of beeps to help you locate it. - easy to share control of the robot to other smartphones via email invite. My girlfriend has iOS and i have Andriod. - quiet operation, still loud enough to wake you in the morning if it sneaks into your room while you are sleeping, but overall quiet compared to the competition out there (you can watch YouTube videos of the other vacuums i mentioned above. Some sound as loud as a traditional upright vacuum cleaner). - HEPA filter. I have allergies, this was a plus but not a requirement for me. - easy to clean. There is a tool provided to remove the hair from the roller brush. The air filtration system is 3 stages. Mesh, foam sponge, then MERV12 HEPA filter. This was all easy to clean and let dry over a register vent. FYI, you cannot wash HEPA filters like the one included in this unit; buy replacements. - does a good job of getting itself out of situations that i thought for sure would leave the little robot stuck. Good programming and routines for handling different situations. I was impressed while watching it unstuck itself from larger cables and odd situations. Only one was it stick on a thin usb charging cable i had plugged into a wall. - I will admit i like not having to vacuum or sweep anymore. This turned out to save money on buying Swiffer dry cloth pads. But i'm sure the cost in electricity and wearable components will negate those savings. CONCLUSION: -Has many functions and features that more expensive models have. Seemed like the best value at time of purchase. - Majority of reviews reflected a good quality product that was reliable and durable in comparison to other brands. - product cleans edges and corners as advertised and expected. - app functions, but you must use ONLY 2.4g signal when connecting app to robot. Do not use 5g. -Without a doubt, this is not a necessary tool. However, it became a valuable investment as i got older and found my life transitioning from having a lot of time and little money to a lot of money and little time. Therefore, this did not feel like a frivolous purchase to me. I can now walk barefoot in my house and forget about sweeping. I still mop once per week with swiffer wet cloths. Pro tips: 1. Using a hot glue gun, you can cut pieces of the magnetic tape and attach them to objects that eufy gets stuck on. I did this for our kitchen table feet, the two chairs in our livingroom on the ends of our couch that have five legs that are only 1.5" off the ground to allow the chairs to spin. Otherwise eufy can waste 5 minutes or more trying to get unstuck, thinking it is not stuck but repeating the same dumb motion, or getting stuck completely and needing your assistance.

EDIT: It's been a while now and Navi runs every day! We love it and so does our bird. She squees at it until she can ride it and then she kisses the blue light as it bumps around the living room. (Under supervision, of course.) She looks forward to it every day. As soon as it beeps and starts moving, she starts shuffling and demanding someone put her on it! As they say, "The future is now, old man!" I am not a person who likes to clean. I will avoid it at all costs and do a shoddy job once I do get around to doing it. That said, I have a terrier mix and a long haired chihuahua mix that constantly shed. They also constantly go in and out the back door to our yard which floods and is surrounded by trees so they are always bringing in dirt and leaves on their fur! On top of that, I have a bird who loves to throw food and little kibble bits over the top of her cage just to watch it roll away and under the furniture! Well, a few weeks ago, I had enough of it! I started looking for a modern technological solution and I found it here with Eufy! Yes, I'd looked at Roomba but so many people complained about it being loud and others mentioned how you were really paying for the name brand. I'm not about that life so I looked at alternatives. We found Eufy and saw all the great comments and reviews on it. Hubby and I were skeptical but finally, we pulled the trigger. And oh boy, we could NOT be happier! Because the house was messy, when I first ran it, it was needing to be emptied often and so it reminded me to tend to it often! I ended up naming it Navi as an ode to that ever helpful yet incessant fairy from Legend of Zelda. Navi does not beep so much nowadays but boy does she pick up the mess! She has made the floors so clean, I can just come after her with a wet mop and the floors look better than they have in years. Only thing she doesn't get is the impossible corners of rooms and areas she just literally can't wedge in width-wise. I don't begrudge her that. I just sweep those bits out myself. But she runs up along the walls, using her little brushes to sweep the edge there until it's clear of debris. No marks on the molding there either. Very gentle. She gobbles up the leaves and flecks of dirt that the dogs bring in and it's so easy to just mop up the mud when it rains as she literally takes care of everything else! She even circles under and around the birdcage to pick up all the pellets and seed shells! What's more, she will also go under the furniture to get the bits that roll under there too! I have seen some people had trouble with the drop sensors. We had a slightly similar issue on our black tiles and black rug but we covered the drop sensors (we live in a 1 story house with no way for Navi to fall off anything!) and haven't had a problem since! Another great thing is she is sooo quiet. I can watch TV and hold a (slightly raised voice) conversation with my husband when she's going under my feet and cleaning out under the couch! Yes, she's that quiet, it's crazy. I read stories about the Roomba scaring people half to death when it starts up in the middle of the night because it's so loud. I run my Navi in the day and night (we work crazy night schedules sometimes) and she never wakes me up. If anything, my bird gets turbo excited about Navi running around and the BIRD's squealing lets me know Navi is running if I'm still laying in bed. I can't tell you how satisfying it is to be able to sleep in on the weekend and still know that house chores are being done! The only thing we needed to do was make sure the dog toys are picked up before going to bed and make sure any wires are off the floor because she can get snagged on them but it's just good practice to do those things anyway! The battery goes for a long time if you don't put it on Max and I'm always surprised by how much debris Navi collects by the time she returns to recharge herself. She's also really good at that mostly, finding her way home. The only time it seems she can't make it is when we leave the doors to the bedrooms in the back open. Sometimes she struggles to find her way out of the back bedrooms, down the hallway and into the living room in time so we've just taken to doing the back bedrooms on different days and shutting her in there while she does her business and then remove her when she's ready to recharge. She gets around the living room, hallway, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and the closest bedroom on regular days just fine though! But other than that, she is just perfect. We no longer have a dust bunny farm and it's so easy to clean out her container, clean offer her brushes and set her back to work, I don't think I could live without Navi now. I hope she runs for a long, long time. We run her every day and I still can't get over it. Just last night, she kicked on and rolled past me as I was getting ready for bed. I watched her go, toothbrush in my mouth as she headed into the kitchen to begin her day. How cool is that? I'm about to go to sleep and there's this little robot, quiet as can be, rolling out to sweep up the little bit of flour I spilled earlier that day. Maybe I should've named her Dobby. But whatever, I love her. Thanks, Eufy!

If you hate grubby corners (behind all those plants, dog beds, small tables, chairs, magazine baskets that it's just so hard to move while jostling around a 20+pound vacuum and heavy, noisy powerhead), and you hate the racket your canister or upright vacuum makes (and your pets hate it, too!), try out this amazing little machine! Vacuuming has never been so much fun! I first purchased the Eufy 11S after doing MUCH research and spending time communicating with Eufy. (They have wonderful, responsive personnel!) Took all of two minutes to get it out of the box, set it up (attach brushes) and get it on the charger. I let it charge overnight. The next morning I hit the "perimeter button" and off it went! I scooted around in front of it, pulling baskets, dog crates, cat scratching pads, shoes, plants, magazine baskets away from the edges of the wall while it came along after me and cleaned places I probably haven't reached in ....some time! First time around, one dog (8 lb Papillon) hid in the next room; the other (12 lb poodle mix) followed it around. (Allowed two perimeter runs the first time since some places hadn't been done in ages and I just wanted to make sure!) Then hit the "automatic" button and as it made its way around the room, I replaced stuff along the walls. How easy could that be?! Although there's no need to move everything every time I vacuum, it's so easy that I often find myself moving alot! (36 years of "accumulation" - aka "clutter" here). If the phone rings, no need to shut off the vacuum; it's no louder than a desk fan and I can easily talk on the phone or listen to the news on TV. My 2000 sq' cape home has mostly medium height carpeting (a combination of cut pile/berber), even in the kitchen and dining areas (breakfast area and formal dining room). It also has tile (hallways, bathrooms), hardwood (two of three bedrooms) and brick (family room) with a large area rug. Eufy tackles it all! It's little "corner" brushed do scatter the birdseed on the bricks, but it seems to manage to pick it all up eventually as it makes several passes in every area when on "auto". The amount of pet hair (and my hair!) it picks up is astounding, as is the amount of fine dust it captures. (I have allergies and this is a blessing!!) Yes, I do clean the brush roller and the dust bin frequently (usually with every "full time" vacuuming; this vacuum will last at least an hour unless I put it on the half hour "single room" cycle). The dust bin empties easily into the trash without dust flying all over the place; with the included brush and a couple of strokes, I gently brush off the filter and haven't yet replaced any. It takes a couple of minutes to slice through the hair wound around the brush roller and pick it off using the included "comb" and my fingers. (Ok -- don't like the idea? When was the last time you cleaned the brushes on your big vacuum's powerhead to ensure its efficiency??) So easy to do this with a little vac that you can set on the kitchen counter. (Turn off the power switch on the bottom first.) Three minutes to clean it up, turn back on, set near the base and send it "home", wipe off the kitchen counter and you're done. No need to struggle to get the canister vac, it's heavy power head and wand and hose back into a closet somewhere! Need it upstairs? Carry it up under one arm (don't forget the remote). It's never fallen down the stairs. Because I'm retired and can be home, I haven't yet used the wifi function, other than to set it up (easy). Because Eufy is so quiet and convenient, I vacuum the most used areas much more often than I would with my heavy conventional vacuums. There is probably no doubt that the suction on the canister or upright is stronger, but because I use Eufy so often (up to several times a week in high traffic areas), my husband is commenting that the rugs look cleaner. No time for shoes to grind leaves and dirt into the carpeting! (And no, my family does NOT remove shoes; and the two dogs and a long-haired cat are in and out on our large yard frequently.) The magnetic strips that come with this unit can be helpful when I have last-minute company coming for dinner so I let Eufy loose while I'm cooking and want it in that area but not under my feet. Otherwise, I simply close doors to keep it where I want it. I've learned how to position chairs around the dining tables (two tables with a total of 10 chairs) so Eufy can scoot around legs and under the rungs, doing a great job of cleaning under everything. It only got stuck once (hung up on a wire dog crate handle), so I've adjusted that. And it easily finds its way back to the base if I guide it back to the right end of the house (using the remote) when I'm done in the more distant regions. I have now "loaned" the 11 S to another family member who has little time for house-cleaning and can use Eufy's help! (Her dogs are 70 pounds!) I purchased the 30C. The extra suction makes bird-seed pickup faster (lol). Both units do a great job! I would recommend either! I like the digital display on the 11S remote so you know what mode you're currently using. And now the dogs ignore it, as you can see where our poodle-mix yawns as Eufy vacuums around her dog bed.

40 years ago, my mother told us, "vacuums are not a Christmas present" when my dad got her a (really nice) vacuum cleaner. This Christmas, however, my mother rescinded that guidance and she loves the Eufy Robovac 30C that I bought my parents. I had this running all over the house for the few days that I was home and it got so much dirt and dust that I had to empty the receptacle a dozen times or more. I thought I would focus this review on how this is for older folks to use. Pro: There are several ways to turn it on. A remote, An easy to use app and a big brightly lit blue button on the device that you can just push to turn it on (The button is my mom's preferred method). Also, you can schedule it to run at specific times. I scheduled it to run before they wake up three days a week. It runs for a long time (close to 90 minutes. One review on here says that this model has limited battery life. I did not find that to be the case.) The machine randomly criss crosses the floors. It does not "learn" or "remember" the layout of the room, but as it crisscrosses the sensors find and move around obstructions such as walls, chairs, shoes, clutter, etc. Although it is random, it zooms around so much that eventually it gets everything. At the end, it goes back to its base to recharge (that takes a long time. When it is done cleaning or you hit the "go home" button on the remote, it wanders around for 10 minutes or so before it finds its' base. The first few times you use it, it will collect so much dust that you have to empty the container every time you use it because it will get areas that you have missed in the past. When I put it in my parents bedroom, I looked under the king sized bed and it looked like there was YEARS of dust build-up. When Eufy was finished, it was sparkling clean under the bed. Eufy will find every cord, wire or other hazard that you forget to move. If they get tangled, Eufy will usually break free on its' own, but you may have to turn it off and turn it over and untangle it on your own (not difficult to do). This model comes with magnetic strips that you can put down to set a boundary (a good place to do this would be under and entertainment center, in front of the cords). My parents have a bunch of rugs with tassels and these rugs did not cause any problems. I did not have to move or tuck the tassels under the rugs. Eufy pushes smaller rugs on hardwood around a bit as it gets on and off them, but you do not need to remove these rugs. This Eufy does not cause any damage to edges or anything that it touches. The sensors sense obstructions, but if it does touch something, it is very very gentle. It is very thin, so it went under many chairs, cabinets, couches, etc that you might suspect that it would not go under. It does get hung up or caught from time to time. It will give a certain number of beeps and on the bottom of the device it tells you what that means (for example, four beeps and a solid blue light on the button means that something is caught in the brush head). This was a little complicated to explain to my parents, but once they understood it, I think it is a great system to explain to the user what is wrong. Cons: The small cleaning receptacle is a bit difficult to clean. It comes with a little tool that you jam in there to help get the stuff out, but you have to shake it around a bit and use your fingers to clean out the dirt. It would be nice if this thing would open up so that you did not have to get all of the collected dirt out of the medium sized opening, but the tool is useful (but easy to lose). Another Con (again I am writing this review about how easy this is for parents to use) is that when something gets caught or stuck, you have to turn the Eufy over and manually untangle whatever it has caught. This may include snapping off and cleaning (with the same nice little tool that you empty the dust) the brushes. This is an issue that would be common to all robovacs, not just this Eufy. My parents got a huge kick out of watching this Eufy zoom around and clean the house. I think they will almost always use it on the schedule that I set up on the app or by pushing the big brightly lit blue button. There is a way to manually steer the eufy using the app, but that would be much too complicated for older parents to use. Scheduling specific times, however, is easy for them to understand and use. This is not something you just set up and forget about. You have to empty the dust bin nearly every time it is used and it will get caught or hung up here and there and you will have to turn it over from time to time to untangle or clean things. This particular model is fantastic and I strongly recommend it for elderly parents or friends (or for yourself!). One of the best gifts that I have ever bought for my parents and I truly believe that this will help keep their house much much cleaner than it was in the past.

which, in retrospect, was not hard to do. I really didn't think this would be anything more than a fad gadget. Couldn't have been more wrong. This darn thing really works! And it works very, well. CLEANING ABILITY Because it is non-mapping, Hazel (named after the Jetson's robo-maid) wanders about randomly, eventually cleaning an entire room. But she deliberately spends a portion of it's time edge cleaning along walls and barriers. The rotating side brushes pull in dust along a 12" wide path, and from any edge barrier. The vacuum has plenty of suction to gobble up the debris--everything from super-fine dust to outdoor grit and even pet hair! Best of all, it gets UNDER most all of our furniture--end tables, couches, beds, better (certainly easier) than I could do with a vacuum wand. Floors and carpets are quite clean when Hazel is through. NIMBLE We have a combination of hardwood, tile, tightly woven carpet, and throw rugs. Hazel navigates most of them with ease, even the bulky throws. The only struggle she has is throws that with curled up edges. Every once in a while she gets hung up, so we tend to pick those up first, unless we can watch her while we are in that room. The little bot gets in and out of some pretty tight spots unassisted, like when several kitchen chairs are setting right next to one another. It will try every angle until if finds its way through or around them, cleaning as it goes! It gets under just about every piece of furniture with legs that we have. Overall, Hazel handles about 95% of obstacles on her own. If we let her work while we are away, we move the few things that might perplex her. NOISE LEVEL I wasn't sure what to expect, and have no other units to compare noise levels, so I have to give my personal opinion. It is much quieter than I anticipated. I would not run her through a room in the middle of a seance, but the vacuum is hardly noticeable when you are going about your daily routine. I can't really hear anything if I am in an adjacent room. MAINTENANCE After every run, you should empty the dust bin. Every few runs, you should clean the filter system. The roller brush gets cleaned of hair, etc as needed. The bin pops out easily enough, but the filter holder is a little hard to snap off. The snapping action causes a lot of dust to go flying, so you need to take that into account when you select a place to remove it. Cleaning the roller brush is a pain, basically combing it out. Not sure if other units are any easier. There is a bit more time that you might spend changing bags in a standard vacuum, but the trade off is worth it. We almost never hand-vac anymore! FEATURES We haven't had time to install the app, as the bot runs fine from the remote (or just pushing the GO button on the lid). We will eventually also connect Hazel to our Alexa/Echo system. The app takes the place of the remote, but also sends you a notice if the bot gets stuck somewhere,. It allows access to more advanced features like scheduling cleanings. There are several modes you can use. AUTO does open floor cleaning, edge cleaning, and returns to base when the battery is low. (1-1/2 hr?) The 30 MINUTE CLEAN works fine for single rooms before calling it quits. Pushing the SPOT CLEAN button send Hazel into a two-minute dance around a small area for extra cleaning. You can steer her manually, or send her back to base remotely. As I said, if you part with enough cash you can get a mapping bot that cleans more efficiently (not necessarily more effectively), self-cleans the dust bin, and can be programmed to clean specific rooms. This little guy (gal?) has just enough features to clean a floor, hands-off. NOTES Hazel seems to sense obstacles using front mounted cameras IF there is enough light. Otherwise, a gentle bump is enough to send her off in another direction. Turning on a room light helps her night blindness. I'm guessing pets will all develop their own particular relationship with EUFY. Miss Molly, our Labradoodle, was a bit apprehensive when she first net Hazel. She changed her mind when we let Hazel carry a few of Molly's favorite treats around on her lid. Now Molly can't wait to hear Hazel dashing off to do her chores! OVERALL VIEW This is an entry level rob-vac that will clean a room effectively at a great price.. From my research, it is also one of the most trouble-free brands, with outstanding customer service. For three of four times the price you can get more bells-and-whistles, but I feel this is the best bang for the buck you can buy. I believe EUFY has just come out with it's first mapping bot, but it is not yet time tested. But I would certainly be tempted to try theirs first, as the "big name bots" seem to be plagued with problems, and customer service does not sound on par with EUFY.

I have a cat 15 pound cat who leaves tufts of fur and litter everywhere. In the past this wasn't a problem because his litter box was located somewhere that wouldn't interfere with daily traffic. Now I live in a 750 sq foot apartment, 80% hard flooring/20% carpet, and the litter is EVERYWHERE. My dinky vacuum (temporary replacement for my "real" vacuum) can't handle carpet. After thinking about how I need to clean my floor every day because of my cat, I decided it was time to invest it robot vacuums. I also have long hair, which gets into everything. What I was looking for: First, price and easy repairing. If you go cheap, expect it to break right after the warranty expires. I wanted something that had replacement parts available and could be easily repaired. After researching I discovered the 30-series of robovacs had almost all it's important parts available for replacement on the eufy website. And when looking at the vacuum itself, it didn't appear hard to repair. Second, be easy to clean. I hate vacuums that aren't easy to take apart for cleaning. The eufy had a very well thought out system and the little tool that comes with it is extremely handy. As example, the rotating brush has a notch on both sides of the spinny-joints. What this means is when hair gets wrapped around the end joints, you can go under the notch and cut the hair. (Every vacuum should have that!) Third, pick up litter & my hair and clean the carpet. After 4 days of having this guy bounce around my apartment, I can confidently say it works great at both things! The first day I used it I had to clean the entire bottom because my regular vacuum because it was packed full of fur and hair that got missed by my regular vacuum! All that litter that just gets everywhere and makes my feminine domestic heart hurt, is now taken gobbled up by this robovac. It also works much better than my dinky vacuum (not really a surprise, I think anything would work better). My single bedroom (where the carpet is located), now looks safe to walk on. It's remarkable how much junk this robot picks up too. Every day it's little trap is full of dust and... stuff. You never realize how dirty your floor is until you get one of these! Forth, be smart and hands free. It's here where I have to take a star off. The randomized pattern used for cleaning the floor is mentally unsatisfying but, over time, thorough in cleaning. The real problem is when it needs to find it's base. It doesn't have any kind of mapping system to know where it's base is located, so it just randomly pokes around until it finds it. This wouldn't be too bad except the battery is low and it's no longer capable of getting over the transition piece between the carpet and hard flooring. There's a 50-50 chance it'll get stuck! It's really annoying and the only area where I feel this robot falls flat on it's already flat face. For the price and the need, this is a solid purchase. I'm not sure how long it'll last but Anker is a good company. (I have dealt with their customer service with other devices that were in-warranty and had no problems.) And even if they aren't cooperative, they have replacement parts that are reasonably priced. Now that I have a robovac, I will likely never live without one. It's like a dishwasher. You don't NEED it but you WANT it! Note: We call him Dusty. I'm thinking of getting him some goggly eyes. Or maybe a name tag. PS: I forgot to mention this, but it's not very loud. It's not silent or anything, but compared to a regular vacuum cleaner it is significantly quieter. I live on the second story of an apartment complex and it's sound is pitched in such a way that I could run it at any time of day without fear of disturbing my neighbors. My cat, who's a little bit skittish, is not terrified of it either (though he does watch it from a distance, as if trying to figure out what it is). PPS: Don't cheap out and buy off-brand replacement parts (filters, side brushes, etc). They will drastically effect the performance of the vacuum!

No se como no la compré antes!! Tengo una gata y un perro que tiran muchisimo pelo y siempre era un tema barrer 3 veces al día y aun así parecía que solo se removía el polvo y la pelusa....CON ESTO SE ACABó EL PROBLEMA. La aspiradora es muy fácil de usar y de ligar al teléfono y al internet de la casa, limpia perfectamente pelo, polvo y basurita pequeña ( la que es grande no la succiona) Cuando salgo de casa y se me olvida ponerla puedo activarla desde mi celular sin problema, la dejo aprox 1 hora y con eso es más que suficiente. Hace poco ruido (muy tolerable) y se limpia sin problema ( tiene un compartimento donde almacena el polvo y basura y se vacía muy fácil). Los sensores de caiga funcionan muy bien ( aunque no los he puesto TAN a prueba) no la he conectado a la Alexa pero la verdad con la aplicación del celular me es suficiente...incluso fuera de casa puedo activarla o detenerla. De verdad esta compra vale cada centavo

Update: 6 months later and we still love E, we had a little problem with him recently and I called Anker and had amazing customer support, Thank you Amanda! Great seller, great vacuum. E (Eufy the Eliminater) came well packaged with everything I was expecting. The dogs (3 of them) have a healthy respect or fear of it, and give it space. I did a ton of research before deciding on Eufy. I looked at roomba, ilife and a few others that were comparable. Eufy was the only one that met my list of musts. Must -have good suction -have large dust bin -be able to schedule -be reasonably priced Wanted - a pattern clean, it doesn't do that but it does a great job without it. My husband who hates vacuums and the noise they make says it's his new favourite family member. It's quiet for a vacuum. Even on max mode its quieter than my canister vac. But don't be fooled it has amazing suction. Ran him for the 1st time 1 day after me vacuuming and the dust he found....I was shocked. I haven't vacuumed in 5 days! So exciting. The extra for the app model (version c) was definitely worth it. You can only set 1 scheduled time per day but with the app you can change the schedule on a whim. So 9am run, change schedule and send it out again for 4:30pm. It runs on boost IQ mode for 1hour and 33minutes, takes around 6 hours to charge in between cleanings so when adding in a new time I kept in mind its run time and charge time. (Though the app tells me when its charged, charging, running and going home) The dustbin is huge, 3 high shedding dogs and as long as it is emptied daily I have no concerns of it filling up. The cleaning brush for the roller works amazing. All 3 brushes are easy to install, remove and clean. 2 of the filters are washable the 3rd (hepa) I just take outside and tap it to knock out the worst of the dust. It will probably need replacing in a few months but nothing horrible. It has only gotten stuck once that it couldn't get itself out of. We forgot to shut the bathroom door and it got in there and couldn't make the 3/4 inch step out. I said in the title I would show you under my couch so I've attached the picture. 3 dogs, 2 kids and nothing but E doing the vacuuming for 5 days. He ran about 2 hours prior to photo. Love this little guy.

Excelente. Fácil de usar, el precio que se paga vale la pena. Quiero decir que recoge muy bien el pelo de gato, que es para lo cual lo ocupo y que la casa permanezca limpia. Yo lo he usado con el control remoto y funciona muy bien. Prácticamente el ruido que hace es mínimo, yo tengo un bebé y cuando duerme el ruido no lo despierta para nada. Solo no sube a las alfombras peludas pero el piso lo deja muy bien. Estoy muy contenta con esta aspiradora.

I'm writing this review about 11 months after purchasing this Robovac. We purchased this vac as we'd previously had a Deebot N79 that kept breaking. On average, that vacuum broke every 4-5 months. After our second replacement (3rd vacuum) our warranty was up and we needed to look for something else. This Eufy had great reviews so I gave it a try, and based on our previous experience I also sprung for the 3-year warranty which I would suggest to anyone who's gonna use it more than once a week. I'm glad I did, as our first Eufy just died after 11 months. However, the replacement experience was incredible. I called them two days ago, did not have to wait on the phone, they walked me through a few troubleshooting tips before determining it was toast. The representative then arranged a replacement. The replacement came YESTERDAY. It took 24 hrs to get a new vacuum, which is incredible service. As for the vacuum itself, it does a good job overall. It does not do well with long pile carpets but otherwise, it's great. The vacuum isn't too loud, however, we often run it when out of the house. With a big dog and a cat in our house, this thing gets used every day. If you run it consistently it will keep your house clean! Performance on low pile carpet is okay, but not amazing, you'll notice if you miss a few days in a row (if you have pets). I'm quite happy with the quality of the cleaning overall. It is frustrating that these things break so often. I'm assuming we will have to replace it again before our warranty is up and it's just so wasteful. Can someone please build something that lasts? I would pay for a subscription robovac service if it meant they actually fixed the damn things instead of just landfilling it. Eufy seems to be significantly better than Ecovacs in this department (and their customer service is light years ahead). However, it still broke after 11 months. All in all I'm happy with this vacuum but I'm very disappointed in the industry in general for making throw away products. Charge me $150 a year and just fix broken units, I'll be a happy camper. A decent robovac really does improve your life. If you don't vacuum as much as your wife would like you too, this will fix the problem :) I'll never go back.

La verdad todos en casa estamos sorprendidos gratamente por la eficacia del producto, el robot barre muy bien, sólo tienes que aprender a usar la aplicación (no es nada complicado) y puedes programarlo para que limpie cuando tú no estés y no te estorbe. Hace ruido si, pero no excesivo y cuando empiece a hacer mucho ruido páusalo y revísalo, quizá se atoró algo adentro, a veces se enredan pelos muy grandes en las cerdas y hay que retirarlos manualmente, yo recomiendo vigilarlo y vaciarlo en cada uso para evitar que se fuerce, pero en general lo recomiendo ampliamente y tiene un excelente precio, no le pide nada a rumba.
