Pelikan Pelikano Blue Fountain Pen Medium

Very dissatisfied with this pen. I understand that it is a low cost fountain pen, but compared to a similarly prices Lamy and cheaper Pilot, this one is the bottom of the barrel. The converter I received doesn't fit snugly over the connector and there is a lot of wiggle room in the barrel so you can hear it rattle when writing.Also, when trying to slide the plastic 'clip' over a thin piece of fabric in a pen case I have that holds my fountain pen 'collection', the plastic snapped right off. Fail!The writing functionality itself is actually decent. The nib is smooth and writes well. The medium tip is a bit thick, similar to the Lamy, which seems to be the case with German nibs.Unfortunately with the ink feed mechanism being as clumsy and dysfunctional as it is, I would not recommend this as a daily writer and it will likely not be good for much else since I assume the ink will dry up in no time.

Being a German/European pen, this medium nib is very thick, almost a broad. Also, with the Pelikan cartridge, it is very wet and juicy. My bad, I like a finer stroke, and didn't see that this comes in a fine.The pen flows well, no skipping for me and it is also very comfortable to write with. I would imagine many people would prefer this medium nib but just note that the fine is an option.To me, the pen seems attractive even with it's plastic construction, especially for the price. How it competes with the Pilot Metropolitan or the Lamy Safari is a subject for debate. Personally, I would go for the Lamy or the Pilot but you will not suffer much of a loss if you get the Pelikan.Hopefully, Pelikan refines this and offers it with more varieties of nibs.

Nice modern styled pen, but the barrel broke after just a couple of months' use. It now has no fewer than four cracks running along its length! I have no recall of a particular event that might have led to this -- I certainly didn't run over it with a car or anything. I probably did drop it or stick it in my pocket or something, as I have been using it as an everyday pen, but let's be honest, I do that to $1 plastic pens all the time and they don't break. This pen may be robust enough for you if you take care of it, but it is not robust enough for me.

A good starter pen for a youngster and probably OK for an adult. It writes better than I thought it would for an inexpensive fountain pen

It is truly remarkable, writes very very well right out of the box no lag and skipping that is typical with a fountain pen. Just feels fantastic , the design is just great a really unique product THIS IS A PURCHASE FOR ANYONE WHO HAS A COLLECTION.This should be a 5 rating and would be but the pen came preloaded with a cartridge, which is just a nice move on the company, but in my particular case the cartridge was put in backwards and when I opened the box and pulled the pen out in fell out all over me and the floor and my table I was sitting at.

My favorite fountain pen! Super soft and easy to write with.

Great Pen for the price. It writes like a fountain pen 10X the cost. The design is very very nice also it holds well

Smooth writing! I got it mostly for drawing in a sketchbook. Very dependable. Does not skip.
