What a remarkable poet and artist
This complete compilation of the 1775 poems written by Emily Dickinson is excellent. I wish all of the editions would indicate on the cover which edition they are. Be sure that you find the complete collection of all the poems with page layouts that indicate their date and progression. There are other editions of her poetry which are much smaller books...and misleading about the number of the collection.

Excellent writer, poor copy is unreadable
Some great poems in this book. However, this copy appears to have been scanned by a program that turns it into text. It appears that nobody edited it before posting. Might be better to get a hardcopy instead. Typos for days.

Emily with wrinkles
I've been reading Emily Dickinson all of my life, off and on. I decided at age 60, to read her Complete Poems & discovered a much different persona emerged when I read the lesser known poems along side the immortal ones. Reading only her most majestic poems gave her an almost untouchable aura. She was damn near perfect when read selectively, but in reading her less stellar efforts, a more human poet emerged & a more engaging one at that. Rating poets with stars is as silly as giving chocolate hearts to tin men, but how could I give any less than five to this angelic woman. The odd thing is, that this more human poet with frailties that the Complete Poems showed me, seems even more divine now. As for her poetics, she knew how to play slightly off key when she wanted to & it makes her work, the work of an original. Her erotic poems, though few, (Wild Nights!) are best in class. Thanks you Emily Dickinson, for your letter to the world.

Shoddy bookbinding
The quality of this paperback is appalling. The pages are literally falling out as you turn them. There are no page numbers so I had to go through and pencil them in. Fortunately this does not distract from the actual poems but you certainly couldn't take this book out anywhere as you'd lose half of it

Weird poetry by my ancestor!
I found Emily's work difficult to relate to. Not a great fan even though I discovered she was a cousin of my grandmother. I have inherited her "writing gene" but not her style.

This appears not to be the edition it claims to ...
This appears not to be the edition it claims to be, or at least the poems are in an edited form. I guess this is as edited by Mabel Loomis Todd and Thomas Wentworth Higginson, who changed the punctuation and occasionally the wording of the poems. Not that edited by Thomas H. Johnson, which restored the poems as much as possible to their intended state.

Delivery was good and the price excellent
The book arrived in good time but the quality of the binding was quite cheap and the covers are starting to curl, but all the poetry is there and I have enjoyed reading them at a great price. Would use again.
