I actually purchased this to use for ½ & ½ creamer for coffee. It’s working beautifully for that purpose. I was under the impression that the cap used a spring type mechanism to close itself; it does not. The cap is attached with a non-spring hinge and must be closed using light pressure on the dome with your thumb after use. I don’t find this an inconvenience as it’s no more effort than having to open and close a carton of creamer. I cannot speak how well it insulates the creamer, as I do not leave it out, but I can say that the quality of the build seems to be very solid and durable. It has a very effective seal made of silicone, and closes easily using very light pressure on top of the cap.A narrow bristle type brush will be required for an effective and thorough cleaning as the opening is relatively small.All in all, this is a very well made and stylish carafe and in my opinion a very good value.

Yes, it's pretty. But don't let that stop you from buying it.It keeps hot coffee hotter much longer than the carafe is it replacing. We entertain large groups of people in our home and these carafes simply shine up the kitchen.The lids were a tad awkward for me to get used to but after a short time I have found that they work exceptionally well.

Opening to pour is a bit of a “pop” and if there is any coffee in the rim, tends to splash. Once your used to it, easy enough to hold it down a little so it doesn’t pop. Holds pull 12 cup pot & keeps it warm. Looks very good!!

Does not keep liquids hot even after preheating with boiling water. The lid/stopper does not fit tightly.I'm digging my old glass lined carafe out of the trash and covering the rust spots on the outside with duct tape.It was a much better product. I don't know why I thought I needed to get a new carafe.

This is a great carafe, but do not set it on the counter/table without a coaster. It oxidizes and I have faint grey rings on my kitchen counter, now. We plan to replace it anyhow, but it's frustrating as it said it was stainless steel. It must be a low quality stainless steel base. The top is tricky because it is manual--meaning it is not spring loaded to auto shut. So, you have to press it down.

Very nice looking.... , however it barely keeps your boiled hot water hot for a couple of hours, it is disappointing. If ONLY are asking for a few hours, this is the one for you. I thought it would keep hot water hot like a regular thermos pot.

Overall it’s OK

I received my Thermal Carafe on time. It's very difficult to use because the suction is so tight that it hurts my thumb to open. It says it keeps coffee hot for 12 hours...it doesn't. Too bad because I really like the retro look of the carafe. Very disappointed.
