Q: What is the expected yield for one container? Looking to use this in conjunction with 3M sealing tape for my sheathing seams.

It doesn't take much. The vinyl adheres to the surface very well. I only used a 1/2 inch bead of primer at the edges or to glue an overlap. Frankly, I probably didn't need it at all.

Q: i purchased metal door sills for my car to attach to the plastic entry. good fit but the 3m tape is not sticking. is this product what i need?

This is the right promoter for your application, however, I am not sure you have the right 3M tape. (Even if you have just any 3M tape, this adhesion promoter is going to help A LOT). You also need to clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol, before applying the promoter.

Q: Does this product work as well as the 3m edge sealer stuff to seal vinyl wrap edges?

I don't know about the edge sealer stuff but the primer works real well. I used it to wrap my motorcycle wheels with 3M carbon fiber vinyl about 4 years ago and the wheels are still as perfect as the day I did them

Q: Will this ruin the underlying paint or plastic its applied to?

Not that I've noticed. I used this primer for laying out some di-noc carbon fiber wrap on some panels on my Honda Shadow VLX, and as long as I heated the vinyl and primer and peeled it....no paint came off. I also used it to help led strips adhere to some surfaces on my Suzuki Boulevard C50, (had 3m double sided tape, just used the primer to make sure they stuck)....apply a little heat and slowly peel. You could also use alcohol to soften the primer.
