85 6.2L Detroit - It just work.
I have a 85 6.2L diesel with a missing starter bracket support. Fit just fine. I'm happy with my purchase.

Works good
Added this to my 1986 CUCV M1009. Pain to put in but worth it. The guy I bought it from and didnt have one on there. Stripped a starter bolt which turned into a pain having to drill the bit out and tap it in and added a helicoil. A must have for sure if you have a gear reduction starter on an old Detroit diesel engine.

so far so good. Docked 1 star as I think it is ...
Arrived on time and is exactly as pictured. Installed on my 6.2 so I don't shear starter bolts any more...so far so good. Docked 1 star as I think it is a little high priced for a piece of angle iron with 2 holes in it but I didn't feel like making one myself.

Without this support you will have starter problems with the 6.2 diesel
This is a must for the Chevy 6.2 diesel starter without this support you will shear off starter bolts

Works great!
It was a super big pain to put on, but I did it! Here are some tips: 1) attach the bracket to the starter motor first, but leave it loose. 2) install the main starter motor boats but keep them loose. 3) attach the other end of the bracket to your engine block. It will take a lot of maneuvering, but eventually you can do it. 4) gradually tighten everything down.

Worked great. Not what's pictured.
The item in the picture is the original GM part, this is a cheap knock-off... but metal is metal and it fits fine on my 86' M1009 K5 Blazer.Good luck reaching those bolts. You'll need about 3 feet of extensions and a swivel head on the K5 Blazer :-)

Fit my 96 C2500 6.5L
Used this on my 1996 C2500 6.5L and the part fit perfectly. When I bought the truck the bracket was missing. I won't be rolling the dice on if the starter is going to brake its mount of my engine block every time I start it anymore.
