A Daily Companion to My Utmost for His Highest: Fresh Insights for Oswald Chambers' Timeless Classic

Truly the Daily Companion goes together with My Utmost as "Jam and Bread." When I started My Utmost over ten years ago, I thought "This devotional is impossible, there's no way I can understand it, it's too deep for my puny brain to understand." But as I hung in there day after day, every day I began to understand that My Utmost is not deep at all, what it is, is incredibly simple, but only if you leave your pride at the door and realize that in order to understand My Utmost, I must approach it with simplicity of mind, and to, as Oswald says so eloquently, "Give up my right to myself." After all, what else do we have than that? Then several years ago, I discovered A Daily Companion. This book opened up My Utmost as never before. I understood even more of My Utmost than I had in previous years. Now I cannot read My Utmost every day as I do without reading A Daily Companion along side. My life and spiritual walk has changed dramatically ever since the day I picked up My Utmost, and I am and will be eternally grateful. Not only that, but I long to meet Oswald and Biddy one day walking on the streets of gold. Imagine gold is so prevalent in heaven that God uses it as asphalt. Thank you for A Daily Companion.

I have been reading Oswald Chambers and especially My Utmost for His Highest since college. Since my daughter has grown to love him too, I initially bought this book for her. Soon though, I was ordering another for myself and may end up ordering even another for my other daughter. I love the background on Chambers and where the passages his wife chose originally came from. I also love that the authors tell about various phrases he used and where they originated. This is a very enlightening companion, especially for someone who has already gone through My Utmost many times already.

I’m so glad I bought this book. I’ve been reading “My Utmost…” for years. Each year is different even though the words stay the same, God’s sweet spirit speaks to me personally through Mr. Chambers’ words. The Companion is such fun to read to see into his life more personally and hear God’s spirit even better.I do have to be careful though as I find myself rushing to read it rather than totally taking in what God is saying in My Utmost. That said, it has truly been a further blessing and help in my walk here...waiting for His return.A special ‘thank you’ to the Mr & Mrs Macosko for doing this for us.

This is an excellent, well written and right on target commentary to go along with the Chambers book. I am surprised how helpful I am finding it, it's a really good in-depth review and explanation, with Bible references. It's very understandable and not pretentious, very readable. What is very impressive about the Kindle version is that when they refer to scripture, you can click on the verse and it takes you to the Bible! No going bak and forth from Bible to commentary, which can be tedious. That is a great feature! Tis is really enhancing my study of My Utmost for His Highest. I highly recommend it to anyone reading the Oswald Cambers book.

This is my second year reading My Utmost for His Highest, and am so grateful I stumbled across this companion! It has really made my daily devotional time more fruitful. I look forward to it every day! Very well written and structured. This companion gets you deeper into the Word and asks some very thought-provoking questions. This has been a great blessing and I highly recommend it.

For me, one who has enjoyed MUFHH devotional for many years, Daily Companion is now my primer, my go to before I read MUFHH. DC lays the ground work, prepares me to be able to get more out of MUFHH. As I now use the MUFHH app, the daily comments finish off my devotion time. A great combo. May our gracious God be glorified, more every day.
