Perfect!
Wonderfully fragrant and flavorful. Spicy and warm without bitterness. I use a lot of black pepper. It has anti-inflammatory properties and pairs well with turmeric--both in regards to health benefits and in the kitchen. Great price, and it is organic!

It's Black Pepper
It's exactly what you're looking for. Black pepper. It's not coarse and not dusty powder. It's exatly what you would put in your pepper shaker.

Extremely finely ground tellecherry, black pepper - for table, serving seasoning
This is a lot of black pepper that is extremely finely ground. You would use this is a formal table setting or restaurant for seasoning of the food at the table.*Foodie Alert* If you were going to use black pepper for cooking, you would typically use a courser grind, or you might use Mexican or Indian white pepper. This level of fine grind would become overwhelming if you added this to a heating process. *end Foodie Alert*The presentation and flavor are first rate. A very small amount of pepper will do from this product. I love pepper, and I am putting on 1/3 to 1/4 as much to season my food with the D&A brand. For the quality of the product, this is a great deal too!Well done D&A!

Great Pepper!
To be honest, I've never thought a whole lot about my pepper. I've used white pepper and peppercorns in a grinder, and ground, black pepper in my shakers, but innocently, thought it all was about the same. Boy, did I learn a lesson with this pepper! It's great, in both taste and appearance! This is a fine grind, but the stuff I've been using is even finer appearing, as evidenced by my picture. The old stuff is in the bottom of the shaker, clearly lighter in color and a finer grind. D & A is noticeably grainer grind, the old stuff practically a powder. I like the new pepper in flavor too. It's fresh and seems to have more depth and character rather than just "hot, peppery" spicy flavor. This is a big bag, but it's heavy plastic and resealable so should keep well. I saw no expiration date on the package. It is a product of McCormick and packaged in the USA.

Great flavor, good price per ounce but a large amount for many to be able to use quickly enough
As we have more and more access to a broad variety of spices and herbs, along with more online recipes to use them, it seems like good old basic ground black pepper has lost some of its former prominence. Even when we do use black pepper, we are likely to have a pepper grinder at hand to put a finishing touch to our salads, etc.Still, black pepper is often just what a dish might need as a flavor enhancer, and this product--organic at that!--has a wonderful pungency and aroma that is just right, especially when added to a sauce or casserole where a coarser grind might not blend in quite as well. The fragrance of the pepper here was easily as fresh and aromatic as anything you might grind at the table. It has added a great flavor boost to many dishes I have made recently, and I highly recommend it.Why, then, four instead of five stars? This is a cautionary rating for the typical home cook who might be considering buying this. While it is fresh and wonderful right out of the package, it will, as with all ground spices, not stay fresh for the extended amount of time most of us cooking just for our families and guests are likely to use before the pepper becomes stale. For restaurants, caterers, and others, this would be a great product to buy. For the rest of us, we either should be content with smaller packages, even if they are more costly and perhaps not as high quality, or, do as I have done with my purchase--share it with your friends and family. In fact, I have purchased some small plastic containers and will be gifting two ounce portions to several on my holiday list. Those with whom I have already shared small portions are definitely interested in using more of this!

Good Grind for Shakers, and Tasty
Pepper is a much-used staple in my house, and this is a nice tasting pepper. It's not especially fancy, but I don't need fancy, and I like that it is organic. We usually use a pepper grinder at the table, but sometimes I prefer find ground at the table, and I usually like fine ground for cooking. It gives a more consistent flavor than the coarse ground that gives a pop of flavor. This grind is find enough to fill a very old pepper shaker I have, too, and it's hard to find the fine grind that will shake properly from it.I do suggest that if you are using it for other than in a shaker, you find a different container to put it in, because the bad is a bit awkward to use.
