Cat Scratching Post Carpet, Tall Big Sisal Rope Cat Scratch Pole for Cats and Kittens, Stable Carpeted Heavy Base (Blue/Grey)

This scratching post is perfect! I have 2 cats. One weighs 5 pounds and the other weighs 26 pounds. This post is sturdy enough for the 26 pound cat as long as the base is up against the wall for extra stability. It can be anywhere for the 5 pound cat and will not top over. Very easy to assemble; took 5 minutes. It is exactly what I was looking for.

Love the height and that it's sisal, but it takes too many hands/people to put the thing together. The bas is split so 1 or two have to hold it together, the poles are in 3 so that's not bad, putting both ends together you need a 3rd or 4th person or you'll pinch fingers, arms, boobs in the slit bottom while trying to screw itg to the pole. Took me an hour after I threw outside and had to find the pieces again. Pissed me off so bad I really wanted to burn it. I hate when they build crap that hurts you physically to put it together. Once it's done it's great, but while it's in pieces it's a BITCH!

I was a little skeptical that our boys wouldn't knock it over trying to scratch. It is very sturdy and stable. When we first put it together one of our cats climbed it like a tree and it didn't fall over. We have had it about 3 weeks now and they use it on a regular basis. The only problem I have is on hardwood floors the move it around but I will deal with that versus tearing up my couch!

Our cats had used the same, not as tall, scratching post for years and I was reluctant to try anything else, wondering if they would take to it. I'm glad to say both found the scratching surface very "attractive" and before long they learned to reach way up to the top to find the treats they got when they used it. This gave them a good stretch. Good value.

My kitty likes it. When you stand it next to a wall the design is sturdy and useable without falling over most of the time. The height worked well for my kitty on this 29 inch model. It was easy to put together so no complaints. It’s a good product.

The rope is thinner than previous post we had for our older felines, but this works just fine for our 12-week old kitten and I think it will be fine as he grows older -- this is a solid post with very tightly packed rope. He attacks it full force and so far there are no issues with it moving, even on a smooth floor. So far, so good. Installation: A hex wrench is included (along with the needed hardware), so no other tools are needed for assembly. A simple diagram of how to assemble the post is included.Some folks seemed to have trouble with the installation. The post comes in two pieces. If you start the two-sided screw in the bottom post (the top post has the carpet), then put the middle fuzzy piece on, then screw the top post to the bottom one, you will get a very firm fit (you have lots of leverage using the two posts to tighten). Open the base and place it on your legs while seated in a chair (the bottom of the base is on your legs). Fit the remaining screw, with washer, through the whole in the base and screw on what is now one, assembled post. Once you get the screw started, turn the whole thing over and tighten with the included hex wrench.

This is THE BEST cat scratching post I've bought ~ and I've bought a lot over the years!!My kitty cat loves it! Its nice and tall so she can really enjoy a good stretch whilst she scratches and sharpens her claws. Its extremely sturdy and the sisal string is great quality ~ nice and thick without shedding any rope fibres.It's really easy to put together. Excellent value for money.One happy kitty cat = one happy kitty cat mommy!

I bought this for my son and daughter in laws for their two cats Christmas present, as their old one was rather tatty. Within a fortnight the base had snapped in half. It is not sturdy enough for grown cats. The height was perfect. They are back to the rather dilapidated one as it is very sturdy and safe. Shame

It’s a good size for adult cats. Let’s see how long they take to destroy this one :)

Cat won’t use it and is continuing to rip my sofa to shreds. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him use a scratch post before so I guess the issue is more with him than with the product. Will try one of the flat scratching boards next time. On plus side, easy to assemble.

This scratch post lets our cat really stretch and she has not clawed our furniture since we had it. She loves to try to catch a toy dangled around it but can also play happily by herself with it.
