LG AN-MR19BA Magic Remote Control (2019 Model)

Ever since I bought my LG 43UK6400PLF I have been using the original non magic remote. Its a good remote but this Magic Remote is certainly much better in most ways. Saying that its missing some buttons that the standard remote has. I've seen people ask if this works with the 43UK6400 and yes it does. It works perfectly with my 2018 model. The standard remote control allowed me to use the media controls (Play , Pause , Stop , fast Forward and rewind) to control my Panasonic UB391 4K UHD Blu ray player without any need to do any setting up of the remote. This remote control allows me to control the player after setting it up. But as I mentioned this remote control is missing some media control buttons. The Fast Forward , Rewind and stop buttons are missing here unlike the standard remote control. Its not a huge deal but a bit of a nuisance because to use those functions you need to press the button above the channel up arrow button which has three dots on it and on screen media controls show which gives much more control than the standard remote control. But it would be nice if they included the fast forward , rewind and stop buttons on the remote control for convenience instead of making you go a few more steps than necesary to use those functions. I mentioned this remote control unlocks functions on the TV. Well it does with my TV because my TV came with the Original LG TV Remote Control AKB75375608. I can control my SKY+ HD box with the remote control too. This remote control allows you to setup the remote control to work with different devices connected to the TV. Not only that but unlike the remote control that came with the TV I had to press the options menu for sound , picture etc then scroll to the bottom of the quick access to open the TV settings. With this remote control you hold the options button for a few seconds and the full TV settings will appear. Long pressing the home button brings up a quick access type of menu at the bottom for netflix and HDMI inputs. It also has the on screen pointer which is very very handy. Its a bit fiddly to get the on screen pointer to appear sometimes though. Theres also the scroll wheel on it which is handy in apps like netflix , Amazon Prime or youtube. Theres also the voice command but I haven't set it up so I have no idea how good it is. There is one additional button that I think they need to either remove or make it so that you can reconfigure it to the media player on the TV. The Movies button. it doesn't do anything on my TV. I only have this remote control with three days and I am still finding out new things it can does and unlocks with the TV. LG should ship the magic remote control with all TV's instead of locking features away on some TV's because you don't own the remote control. Its just a pitty that they didn't include the fast forward , Rewind and stop buttons on the remote control itself. Hopefully they will rectify this. I hope this review was helpful in your buying decision of this remote control

Works just as good as the original, all features work such as voice control and pointer. Feels solid and well made.

Good magic remote does what it says on the box

Fired it up and it worked straight away. LG need to sort out the quality of controller if they fail this quickly. Will I be buying another in 18 months? It is not the suppliers fault, but LG.

It turns out I didn't need to buy this as the LG TV I bought came with a Magic Remote - contrary to the listed product information on Amazon. Never mind. I have another LG TV and this are backward compatible so I might switch it over to my older set, as the buttons are slightly differently laid out from older models. As for the remote itself - it's great. It's basically a lite-version of a universal remote, capable of controlling almost anything you might plug into your TV. I have it controlling my TV, soundbar, Sky box, Xbox One and I know it also controls a Fire Stick. The dedicated Netflix and Amazon buttons are a nice improvement from my previous version (2016, I believe) and the remote itself is very intuitive. I find the pointer function is a little hit and miss at times, but it's not a major problem. Also credit to the seller - this would have arrived a day earlier than indicated had I been available to answer the door to postie. Fast service, well packaged. Would recommend.

We dropped the remote for our LG TV one too many times. This is identical to the old one and works perfectly. As soon as you point it at the TV it prompts you on the screen to initiate the set up, which didn't take long. With the pointer on the screen it is truly a magic remote.

Item was sent late and when received defective Not connecting with TV Properly. Contact the seller, the response was very negative Rude and disrespectful

The original remote controller was broken down! I felt a bit helpless because it’s an older version of LG T.V… I’ved read the reviews and thought I give it a try… NO PROBLEMS!! I first switched off the t.v. With the old remote Controller… Added Batteries to the new one and just switched on… Everything just works fine,like the old one! No delay or skip,ALL GOOD ! If you have a decoder…you don’t need to touch that,NO SETTINGS! Now I’ve got my PRIME back with one push!! Without Amazon, I would have been lost!! Thank you for providing almost everything for my need. Highly recommend!

Questo telecomando è ottimo, sostituisce l'originale ed è perfettamente uguale all'originale. Quindi compratelo serenamente, è un ottimo prodotto. Ma... Ma non ho capito ancora perché si è rotta la "rotellina" del telecomando originale LG datomi in dotazione con il televisore. In pratica un giorno ho scoperto che il telecomando non funzionava, la rotellina aveva dei problemi. La rotellina, quella posta al centro del telecomando, quasi come la rotellina dei mouse del PC, avete presente? Orbene, non girava a modo, rotta! Eppure il pezzo non era caduto, sembrava rotto spontaneamente. Allora, visto che sono un appassionato di bricolage, l'ho smontato, ed ho visto che era rotto il microscopico perno in plastica della rotellina, Hanno progettato e realizzato un mozzo o pernino in plastica, talmente esile da fare impressione. Se premete un po' più forte del normale o con il tempo, si rompe inevitabilmente. Secondo me è fatto apposta per rompersi. Ho provato a sostituirlo con un micro perno metallico, ma non ci sono riuscito. Ho cercato online ed ho trovato il disegno in formato stl di tutta la rotellina. La prossima volta stamperò un pezzo in resina e sostituirò da solo la maledetta rotella. Quindi il mio "MA" è questo: perché hanno costruito un pezzo così fragile, sapendo che bisogna poi cambiare tutto il telecomando? Mi è venuto da pensare ad una specie di obsolescenza programmata, cioè un pezzo progettato e costruito per rompersi in tempi brevi. Se così non fosse, alla LG avrebbero ingegneri incapaci, cosa a cui non credo. :-)
