TL;DR: Well engineered, high quality USB-C to DP cable that works flawlessly.The full review:I like my kit to exude quality, and I especially like it when that is achievable at a good price. That extends to even small purchases such as cable adapters that one may sometimes argue are cheap enough to be "throwaway" (which I wouldn't ever condone from an environmental perspective of course. Sorry, Greta).This little package of cable adapter indulgence does exactly that.My hopes were not too high when I first fingered the discreet and rather plain brown box, but then spotted the little logo in the top corner that indicated this was "certified frustration free packaging" (is it actually someone's job to test packaging and conduct a rigorous certification process on it?). Then I started to wonder if some thought had gone into the design of this handsome product as I easily opened the box and took out the nicely-wrapped adapter. (Give the package-certifier a bonus).I was genuinely surprised by the sheer engineering quality of this adapter considering the price. It has a nice weight to it, given it is made from a smooth brushed aluminium. The cable itself feels very robust and reassuringly thick, and won't ever twist if flagrantly chucked into your gadget kit bag. It will also flex enough to plug either end into whatever angle-dangle is needed.The plugs themselves (one male USB-C/Thunderbolt 3, one female full-size DisplayPort) again are reassuringly solid when plugging into the device and DP cable respectively. A satisfying feel and audible click are given on both ends, indicating this little baby is not likely to fall out or lose connection anytime this millenium.There are even some nice details that tell you someone has put thought into this cheap, but most certainly not nasty, adapter. The bevelled edges on the female DP socket, along with the rounded pseudo-elliptical form means you won't be reaching for the first aid kit after getting everything connected. Not quite as curvaceous as Nigella Lawson, but enough to make we want to keep touching it and savour its engineering beauty. The male USB-C plug is also nicely engineered and the contact is gold-plated.Now onto the most important part. After all, I didn't pay for this thing to make we want to take it out of my kit bag every day for a tactile fix. Does it work?Thankfully, it does. I first tried this with my MacBook Pro on my 27" 2560x1440 resolution monitor and I could see my desktop! It's a miracle! No signs of any visual issues, no flickering, no annoying handshaking and the screen going black several times before finally locking onto the signal. It worked first time. Imagine that.And the OS from Redmond? Yep, that worked too. Connected seamlessly to a Windows 10 laptop and the same 2560x1440 monitor.This little beauty works, and with a nice bonus: every night I go to bed knowing that the following morning I get the chance to caress the aluminium curvy goodness of my USB-C to DP cable adapter whilst savouring the aroma of that first freshly-ground steaming latte of the day.I think it's my new definition of "morning glory".

I have a 15 inch Dell XPS 9650, and wanted to connect a 34 inch Ultrawide monitor to it, but unfortunately the HDMI port on this laptop won't push it to 3440 x 1440 resolution. Instead it stretches the resolution. So I went for this adpater and it worked instantly out of the box. Super happy and would highly recommend.

Just what I needed to connect my phone to my TV. Plug and play so no software to download simply plug it into the phone and then plug the hdmi from the TV into it. The great picture quality and its easy to carry around so if we are in a hotel and they don't have a smart TV we can use this for catch up TV or Netflix. Great peice of kit!!

Upon ordering the new Oculus Rift S I discovered I did not have the DisplayPort needed to use the thing! Luckily I did some research and found some people had had luck with using these adapters, thought I'd take a punt and try it and it did! Good picture quality, not sure if it would even be better the proper way to be honest!

This connector/adaptor is a complete failure. I have checked this with a number of different DP cables (all brand new cables) and on different screens and it always behaves the same - screen is flickering and turning black every couple of seconds.The result is that I am stuck with number of DP cables and a broken connector/adapter and now need to buy a new one.NOT RECOMMENDED!

Bought this to connect my Oculus Rift S to my Razer Blade 15 laptop and this works perfectly. Connected to the USB C port on the right hand side of the laptop as this connects to the GPU rather than onboard graphics. No problems with set up and very easy.

Have kept this in my laptop bag for use as needed when away from the office. With light use, stored safely in a bag pocket, I got maybe 10 uses out of it in the year since purchasing. All times in an office environment.There's no easy way to determine why, but today it failed - tried different cables, different machine. Dead and for the land fill. Not great, but did work fine when it worked.
