I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with this sharpening stone holder. I like its size (thickness), sturdiness, and its flexibility in accepting multiple size stones, giving options either quickly change ability from one stone to another. The speed of change certainly reduces frustration. Its design and execution certainly aids one sharpening ability.

I got this whetstone for the price. I use it to keep my kitchen knives honed in, and keep my edge without going full blown sharpening. Works great, keeps the knives stay sharp.

I've used varieties of whet stones and have at least a half dozen. Something that I've always struggled with was securing the stone on a counter or table top. I've always used a wet washcloth. Yeah, it kind of worked, but I never really knew about these kinds of stone holders until watching some sharpening videos. This unit is very quickly adustable to practically any size that most of us will ever run into. It firmly grasps the stone. I have one stone that I was concerned might not work, since it's a relatively thin double sided diamond stone--about 1/4" thick. The holder still holds this stone properly without getting in the way of the blade during sharpening. If you use stones and haven't found a good holding system, this unit won't break the bank and you'll wonder how you ever went without it. Good construction, quality material, and non-slip.

Easy to use it hold stones very good it also gives excellent clearance on your back and forward hand movement while sharpening knives

I hand sharpen my knives, planer blades, and chisels using whet stones. I have four of these holders and find them extremely useful. They hold the stones well and do not slip as I am sharpening. The three I purchased before this have held up for several years and are still as good a new.

I had some knives I tried sharpening with a 1000 grit stone with no success. They were just so dull that I couldn't establish an edge. I realized they needed a first pass on a coarser stone, so I ordered this. It turned out to be a sound and economical investment. The stone is of great qualiy, and the 400 grit side quickly put an edge on my dull knives. Of course one needs to follow this with a finer grit stone. I already had a 1000 grit stone, but it was so convenient to have 1000 grit available with just a flip of this stone. And the package included a nice holder, which I can use with my other stones. This has turned out to be one of my best investments. All this at a very affordable price.

How the hell was i using my atoma for so many years without this? A friend told me to get one of these and although i didnt want to buy this i gave a try and my god is a game changer. Its like getting glasses for the first time, how was a i living without this!?

Screws doesn't have inserts in them so they go directly into the rubber.. We'll see how it holds up in the long run bur in the meantime I've used a couple of times and it was solid.
