I was super hype for this item. I planned on using it to help guide me to a consistent, faster pace running. I received it 30 April. Opened it and headed out. I read the instructions and was pretty confident I could get it going. Tried to turn it on. No luck. Tried repeatedly and finally it just blinked on. Thought that was werid but hey it was working. Got the pace I wanted and was very happy. Finished the run. Turned it off and it never turned on again. Worked ONCE. I asked for a replacement and will update when it comes. Fingers crossed because when it did work it helped me alot.Reported the issue to Amazon. They had a new one out the next day...it works amazing. It helps me stay on stride. Love it.

When coach suggested this for race training, I wasn't sure what to expect. This is like a metronome and really helps to set a pace that is fast enough, but beware. If you set the tempo too fast, you lose form and risk injury. Set a comfortable tempo, and as you get used to it, gradually increase.

I am an Ironman and open water swimmer. I'm not world class, but swimming is my best discipline out of the three in a triathlon.The Finis Tempo trainer helps with CSS, one of my favorite methods of swim training. It helps develop muscle memory on speed, cadence and "feel" of the pace you intend to swim. If you need to work on stroke count, you can easily do so. Naturally, my total SPM sits around 45 at my current CSS (1:17). Yeah, it's really, really slow. With the tempo trainer, my swim coach and I were able to pinpoint a "sweet spot" for my cadence, endurance and speed, pushing it to 63 SPM.Discovering this "sweet spot" has improved my swimming tremendously. When focusing on CSS, this is the tool to use 100%. No watches, no funky headphones, just pop this into your swim cap and go (AND STAY ON BEEP!!!)There is one issue I've experienced twice now. When the battery dies, it no longer remains waterproof. It is an issue Finis is aware of, not a user related problem. Finis sent a new one to replace the first one I purchased when this happened. A suggested fix is to immediately put a tiny piece of cardboard in the back after changing the battery. It puts extra pressure on the gasket that makes the assembly waterproof. If you do not do this prior to swimming, water will trickle in and ruin the trainer. I can confirm this fix is hit or miss. The swimmers on my swim team all use this tool and have experienced the same problem. Some have had success with this fix, others have not.I believe it is a manufacturing design flaw related to tolerances, not necessarily an issue with the unit itself. It is annoying to deal with, especially when they're $50+ a piece. I love swimming and this tool has helped me immensely. So, I will continue to purchase/tolerate the annoyance!

I bought it recently for my son to use and he was using it consistently. It was really good, easy to use and floats if it comes loose. Comes with a sample Olympic swimmer tempo but you can adjust the speed. Unfortunately, we were on vacation and the pool was crowded, came loose and we lost the Metronome.

My daughter needs it for swim team and it broke after 6 months-I have about 20 batteries-and now she still needs it and I really don’t feel like spending another $50 for something that is going to break in 6 months.

No estaba segura de adquirir el Tempo, leí las opiniones de los que lo compraron y hay buenas y otras muy desalentadoras, me incliné por las buenas opiniones y estoy súper contenta, hoy lo usé por primera vez y estoy más que satisfecha, te ayuda a mantener un ritmo constante, una excelente ayuda para mejorar el estilo de crol y en mi opinión también el de dorso.

Es perfecto para natación. Me he acostumbrado tanto a su uso tanto en piscina como en aguas abiertas que al perder por descuido en el mar el primero que adquirí me compré inmediatamente uno igual. A pesar de que no es muy barato,

Si può “inseguire” il beep ai 25 o 50 metri, impostare ripetute, cercare di seguire un ritmo di bracciata, si può lavorare con o senza cronometro da vasca. Davvero uno strumento fantastico e divertente da usare.

L'appareil est livré dans l'emballage d'origine avec la notice en état impeccable, sans aucun défaut d'usure, fonctionne parfaitement. Et tout ça pour 20€ de moin que le neuf. Je suis très satisfait de cet achat

Replacing my old tempo trainer pro that's lasted about 9 years! Yep. I think it being dropped on hard tiled floors and at times left for months in a damp swim kit bag would kill it, but not until recently... I've just replace it. Some people say it's difficult to replace the battery. But I've changed it about 5 times and never had any issues until my old one started switching it self off. I've always placed it under my swim cap and have probably used it about 200 times. It's a great device and simple in use, but really helps with timings and keeping a near perfect stroke rate. They're not cheap, but worth it.
