7/1/10 Update:Three of the lights had issues. I contacted the seller MEI YI and they were very prompt in sending me a new replacement set of 6 lights. Things do happen to products whether it be a bad battery, QC problems, etc..., but the most important is customer service and MEI YI unequivocally delivered on that area. Kudos to MEI YI. I am changing the overall rating from 2 to 5 stars!6/1/19 Update:One of the lights stopped working. It only stays on for about 1 hour despite having 6 hours of sunlight. A second one is dim due to the battery not being able to stay in place inside the battery holder. In addition, the cover for the battery holder falls off with the slightest movement. I had to open the lid and put the cover back on multiple times. Not good. Will update in the future if there are more problems.Original Review:The led lights are great! There are 30 of them on one string so it’s bright. They do not flicker but stay on constantly. I recommend that they be used with pint size Mason Jars because if you put them in any size larger, it may dilute the brightness as its not as concentrated in one small area. You will have to spread them out inside the bottle to make the glow even. They really do last all night and into the early morning hours if and only if they get a minimum of 6 hours of direct sunlight. 8 hours is ideal. If it’s cloudy, the lights will stay on for about 2 to 3 hours max. I bought 2 sets which amounts to 12 solar lids. It gives my backyard a whimsical and accented ambiance at night. They use a 600mah NMH rechargeable battery, which is replaceable. The battery hasn’t died on me yet but then again, I’ve only had this for 3 weeks. I haven’t tested out its claim of being water and rust resistant as I have my lights under the patio away from the elements. So what are the cons? The round circler black housing that contains the battery and electronics under the lid is off centered in relations to the aluminum lid and therefore makes screwing onto the Mason Jar a little challenging. I can actually see the lids deform along the ridge of the mouth of the mason jar as it was screwed down. Not good. I was eventually able to screw them on successful after several careful attempts not to break it. Second problem was that one of the batteries wouldn’t stay securely in its place and I had to take it out and put it back in several times to make sure the battery terminals were making contact with the positive and negative leads in the battery holder. This is why I’m giving this product 3 stars. I will update in the future if things change.

These are so cool! They didn't fit all my mason jars, I had to look and find the ones they did, but they are super cool once I did find jars that worked. Spoiler alert, the gift it comes with are lights for wine bottles, which would be cool, but one didn't work at all and the other only works sometimes. But, I didn't buy those, so I'm still giving 5 stars bc the review is for those lights

I was pleasantly surprised that all worked! Usually these things have a lower success rate.However 2 out of 12 were horribly bent and cannot be screwed on to a mason jar.I could re-purpose them simply for the fairy lights but that’s not what I paid forOverall, less expensive than purchasing from a mainstream crafts store but I think I had random luck with 83%

Mason jars have only been made in standard sizes since the 1920’s; how can you get this wrong?The diameter of the rings connected to these lights is about 1/16” to 3/32” too small to fit standard narrow mouth Kerr, Ball, Atlas, etc jars. If you are happy with cockeyed jar lid fit or are prepared to over-torque the lids thereby deforming you might be happy with these.If you have a lot of narrow mouth pickle and jam jars these might work. The threads on the store-bought product jars tend to have thinner threads (which is why standard canning jar lids and rings tend to fit). This is probably why the manufacturer supplies a “mysterious surprise” of a sheet of decals to put on your no-name jars. However, if your desire is to have retro-look Mason jar lights (as shown in the pictures on Amazon's website), these are not for you.Interestingly, the hangers supplied with the lights work perfectly with mason jars as they fit perfectly under the rim which is provided to grab with hot jars from your canning pot with jar tongs. However, your no-name jar is likely not to have such a substantial band allowing the hanger securing band to slip easily off (you could relatively easily refashion the band by shortening with needle nose pliers and wire cutters). It is as though the folks who designed the hanger ring had an actual canning jar, whereas the ring folks dug up a nalley's pickle jar from the local recycle dumpster.After trying well over 20 jars from my late mother’s jar collection, I finally got fed up, repacked the whole mess and am sending back to china or wherever this bit of uselessness originated. I can, however, say that the one light (out of six) I tried did light up, seemed to accept a charge and the photocell did seem to switch on and off as described, so at least it’s got that going for it.My advice: avoid these jar lights as you would the coughing dude on the subway.

They're bright, easy to assemble, great price. They also included cork lights for wine bottles. Awesome. The solar lights look beautiful hanging on shephers's hooks. They are bright, even when it's dismal outside. Would definetly make a great gift

These lights are so beautiful and magical hanging in our small patio tree. They were easy to assemble with the jars I purchased at Goodwill. Will be ordering more. Very satisfied with the service and product this company provides.

These led lights are so cute in a mason jar. I purchased set if 6 and hang them in the yard and in the house for night lights. Will be taking them camping with us this summer. Great product I love mine. Highly recommend
