Nice case. Simple set.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Nice lovely case to hold everything in place. I just wanted something simple to do some sketches. Not alot of sheets of paper about 5.I haven't used the water colours as of yet, just the pencils that are the standard 1,2 and 3Bs & the Hs. The colours are good they shade well. One thing I will point out is how much they have put the price up by! Crazy. I paid £22 just recently, like days ago. It went upto £39 days later and its currently selling at £42. Smh.I'm sorry but I just wouldn't pay £42 for such as simple set.

Value for money.
Derwent pencils are a well known brand and are made in the UK. I got them as started kit for myself, rediscovering an old hobby. This set is ideal for my needs as it has a mixture of vibrant colour pencils , water colours and graphite pencils. All of great quality. As a first set i feel this would be a really good gift for a budding artist or someone getting back into art.

No longer made in Britain
Firstly the positive - these are lovely pencils, well presented, and of obvious quality. I really cannot fault this set for this reason, and my granddaughter and I both enjoyed discovering watercolour pencils for the first time. But, and for me, this is a BIG 'but' - I ordered these as I am familiar with Derwent pencils, having visited the factory near Derwent Water in Cumbria many years ago. I chose these as I wished to support the 'buy British' campaign, and also a business local to me.I was massively disappointed then, to see those ominous 3 little words on the back of the packaging; "Made in China".Why oh why can't we continue to make these in Britain....? Does everything need to be outsourced to China for cost-alone reasons....? such is my disappointment that another British Company has 'sold out; to globalisation, that I most likely will not be buying future products from Derwent, despite the obvious quality.

Smart, ideal gift for arty kids/teens/adults/beginners
Very smart to present someone with a boxed set of various pencils. I've seen other sets with many more pencils but this is a bit more special looking because of the box. Would I have preferred more pencils, yes of course but it has everything you need inside and you can get other pencils. The watercolours work so nicely to create a different effect, and you can colour with them without adding water too of course. My daughter was very pleased with this gift and uses it all the time.

Very nice present for a young artist
I have recently purchased Derwent pencils for my 14 year old daughter who loves drawing and was unsure what different types of pencils to buy for her.I bought this set as a Christmas present and it comes nicely presented in a wooden box with some different pencils so she can try and decide which she likes best

Derwent, so...
I've been using Derwent since forever and even after all these years they stand among the best of pencils, as far as I'm concerned at least. What is in this box is great. But the box itself makes it better. Tear the el-cheapo plastic lining out, if only at the bottom of the box (you won't gain much if you tear out the top tray) scrape and sand the remnants of glue away, then line it with baize, adding partitions to suit. It's not a particularly quick or cost-effective job; you don't gain a lot of new real estate though you do gain some and it would arguably be better to just build a box of these dimensions in stronger materials from scratch. But I like the end results and it is now very much a go-to case for basic drawing and colouring.

Very happy daughter
Perfectly adequate set for a keen little artist. It is by no means the best quality box, but it works and it stores everything together and there is a good range of materials inside for the drawing and sketching she wants to do.I am no artist so can't comment on the quality of the actual pencils, but they do the trick and she doesn't seem to have to press unduly hard to get them to work. The watercolour pencil marks retain good colour when 'diluted' and I think this is a really good value buy.
