Straw (The Spoon Series, 3)

The story is very cute. The best 2 page spread is BRAIN FREEZE! However, the book pages are rippled. I returned the first book due to this issue. Sadly, the second book has the same issue.

I loved Spoon so I really, really wanted to love this story, but I found the storyline to not be very engaging. It’s about a regular straw who loves to finish quickly and a bendy straw who likes to savor the moment. It was still full of very cute imagery, but I felt like it was hard for my young kids to really get the message and the message isn’t quite as powerful as Spoon’s. I feel like they also understood Spoon much better. I teach 3-5 year olds.

Straw is an awesome addition. We have always loved Spoon in our house and Straw doesn’t disappoint. I am disappointed that the book I received looks to have water damage. That is why I did not give it 5 stars.

The book is really wonderful but it looks like it got wet or something. The pages are all wrinkled. I am guessing that I just got a bad copy - the story and illustrations are great. Just as fun as Spoon and Chopsticks.
