LeapFrog Shapes and Sharing Picnic Basket (Frustration Free Packaging), Pink

We bought this as a gift for my niece when she turned one and when my 1 year old daughter was over at their house i noticed her playing with it so I added it to her birthday list. She loves it!!She always pulls this toy out of her toy box first and will play with it by herself which is great.Pros: you can turn the sound off! (What parent doesn't appreciate that?)There are two different modes- 1 with music and one where it talks about shapes and colors. I think it can really grow with her, right now she just likes to jam to the music.The little plates and food have specific shapes and holes so she can learn how to make it fit like a puzzle (but the fact that she's not great at it now doesn't make it unusable).It makes a noise when opening and closing (for some reason our kiddo loves any toy that does that).It's a decent size that all of the items actually fit in it well so you aren't constantly fighting them when putting it away.It has a handle and is light enough that she can carry it around.Con- only con is that there are many little parts so they can get lost in our toy bin- but that's not the toy's fault.My sister in law said my niece at 2 1/2 years old still plays with hers so it seems like a good investment to me. I hate spending money on toys they outgrow quickly.

This is a great toy. It has a good amount of catchy songs and phrases, it has a volume control switch as well. Perfect for pretend play, my daughters will make a pallet and pretend they're having a picnic and a tea party with their tea and picnic sets, it's really cute! I'm tempted to purchase another set because the handle broke on ours a few months ago. A very sturdy well made toy, we've had ours for 5 years and is perfect other than the handle. We haven't even had to change the batteries. Highly recommend.

Update: My daughter is now 7, and she still plays with this! It is now incorporated into her toy kitchen.I know I would have loved having this when I was a kid. My now 1-year-old daughter loves playing with this. There are a lot of little things included in this cute set. She enjoys opening and closing the top, taking stuff out, and looking at each thing. As she takes things out, I tell her what each thing is. She has also just started putting things back in and trying to put the shapes onto the plates. I can tell this toy will have longevity for her. One thing I do have to make sure I do is put it away each time she is done with it, out of her reach. There are a lot of pieces that could get lost, and I want to keep this set together so she will have it for a few years.

I have purchased two of these picnic baskets for two little girls. They loved the two doors at the top of the basket and the cute sounds, lights and music that are easy to turn on and off attract them to it right away. The shaped "food" and plates kept them both busy for over an hour. They love opening and closing the basket and fitting the shapes into their corresponding openings. This gift was a real hit with girls!

Overall, I think this product is a great gift for kids. I rated it 4 stars ok age appropriateness only because it says starting at 6 months and it does not seem like this would be an idea gift for a child under 1. My almost 2 year oldNiece and my 20 month old son had a blast with it right away and I’m sure it will be around for a while. I think the quality is great for the price. This is one of those gifts that I wasn’t sure about, but was a huge hit. Extremely satisfied with my purchase and would gift again.

Didn't see that there were two different packaging. They are the same price yet one comes in plain box with no batteries and the other comes in standard package and with batteries. Got this for a Christmas gift with another leap frog toy. Now one will be in this plain box and the other in the store packaging. I don't understand the point if you are not going to pass any saving to the customer. Go with the better packaging!I gave it 4 stars bc the toy is very cute and perfect for any little girl. Music is fun with two sound settings and you can change it from music to more advanced learning for toddlers.

This picnic basket is adorable! (If the manufacturer sees this we’d love a neutral color one too). My boys have loved this and we have bought it for several gifts. It clearly sings two several verse songs, and has the perfect amount of pieces for a toddler. It’s a great item once a baby is sitting, and my elementary schooler really likes it too for playing store and carrying various toys for dramatic play with our toddler. Another of my favorite gifting items.

Anything can distract my daughter for 2-3 hours, two to three times a week so I can watch a Chicago bulls game is worth the money.This picnic basket is amazing. I beat Santa to the punch and let my 23 month old daughter open it a week before Christmas to test the waters. What is it January 10, 2015 and she's still dragging this basket all over the place. Usually most toys have a life span of 1 week with her before she is ready for something new, not 2-3 weeks. It is also helping her speak "hi" "bye". I was ecstatic to find out this toy is teaching her things and that she loves playing with it. It is just awesome all around. I would buy this again and again. It was only $13 when I ordered it too. I would have paid 3x that much, that's how good this is.
