Simple guidelines to help ease your mind
I grabbed this title for free today and had it read in 30 minutes. Though I've home schooled our four sons through high school, it's still a passion to me to spread the word about homeschooling and recommend helpful books to my homeschooling friends. Besides, I wanted to compare my own thoughts on teaching English with this author who I admire from reading her articles. Yes, it was short and very easy to read and comprehend. Yes, it was insightful in a number of discussions relating to how she taught her sons. Yes, I'd recommend it to my friends. Being the kind of "coffee table" book that it is, you won't find much of nuts-and-bolts teaching help but what was presented was worthwhile. The best part of reading this book was the feeling that you don't need to be rigid, there's lots of room to breathe and customize, which is my kind of education at home.

A quick read.
This is a very short summary of the main topics for English requirements for high school. It took less than a half hour to read. It touched the basics of what you need to know. Basically, it will give some direction if you have no idea what to do, but you will need to find other sources to actually learn how to teach anything. If you are looking for college requirements or transcript information, read another of Mrs. Binz' books specifically on one of those topics, which will include multiple topics such as English and a considerable amount of additional information for your money.

So useful!
Absolutely love this little book. It is packed with so much useful information. Why read a 400 page book on the subject when it can wisely be said in 100 or less? My time is valuable, so I appreciate that she got right to the point! All of the information has be so useful in our homeschooling this year.

takes the mystery out of homeschooling high school English...
Before reading this ebook I was pretty clueless on teaching high school English(or any high school subjects to tell the truth). After reading this book, I felt much more confident that I could do this. The author was reassuring to the reader and even covered if you have a struggling student or someone working below grade level. She also covered what is a credit and how to figure out high school credits. This book was great for teaching English, but I also found it helpful to implement the ideas presented in this book for any subjects, not just English.

Lee Binz speaks to me
Lee reaches into our home and shares her understanding of some of the most daunting aspects of homeschooling. What's better yet, she helps alleviate our troubles by showing real solutions and helpful ideas. It's nice to have someone who can see the "big picture" and help others navigate through some murky waters!

Concise and Informative
This was a very quick read - I bought the book tonight and read it in less than an hour, highlighting as I went. My son will be a high school freshman in the fall, so I was glad to find this information. I gained a clear sense of direction in how to teach, grade, and give English credit, as well as knowledge of the skills necessary to compete for college scholarships. Thank you, Lee!

Excellent quick read
The information in this book is what I wish I had known four years sooner. Our oldest is about to graduate high school, and is very intelligent but isn't a strong writer, because I didn't know how to teach him to write. This short book helped me see straight forward options for teaching English. We will definitely be using many of Lee's tips and techniques for our other children, though.
