Does the cure harden? I want to apply it on a rubber boot that flexes, or what alternative is best for this purpose?

I use this for industrial purposes in a few areas of my facility. This stuff does flex, but dries extremely quick. Any excess that gets wiped off will leave a residue trail. To remove, I either sand, grind, cut, or shave with a good razor blade from glass and metal. Read the entire back label, and keep it refrigerated.

What is the expire date on it ?

The manufacturer (Henkel) puts a 'use by' date on the product. This is a cyanoacrylate adhesive. Unopened containers should be refrigerated until first use. The product should be brought to ambient temperature before first used. Thereafter, it should be stored at ambient temperature.My current 3 oz container has a use by date of 11/2014. I'm still using it with no issues.

will it bond steel to aluminum?

Not fully sure but I will say this stuff is no good for anything I have tried to use it on. Plastics, wood, small metal to metal. Only thing it seems to stick to well is my fingers. Super glue works much better for projects I have done.

can i use it on guitar frets? steel frets in a wooden slot?

I use it for squeaking wooden flooring; it is an industrial grade adhesive, much stronger than regular superglue, use very carefully. I think it should work for you, but you always need to do a trial run first.
