Very High Quality Ideal for Recording only
Well I intended on getting nickel plated not nickel wound. I was just trying to buy a set of strings that was round core. These definitely are round core strings. They sound great too. If you use a heavy pick and your guitar has a bit of fret buzz around the middle of the neck then the noise will be less with strings that are round all around since there is only one point of contact. Less noticeable fret buzz(that’s a good thing) but honestly these strings sound very gentle. If I were to record a very gentle guitar track these are what I would use. And if I had an awesome guitar solo that I had practiced and practiced until I had it just right. I would then restring my guitar with these strings and record that solo. The tone is just ridiculously good on these strings. Especially for solos using the high G,B, and E strings. The low E, A and D strings are not that bassy or warm. They are very gentle sounding. The wound strings just don’t have that punch or oomph. You can always use a boost but that’s one less pedal you should have to use when playing the guitar. I would definitely use these for recording something because of the tone that these strings have. I just wouldn’t use them on a regular basis because they lack the bass I need. I did however keep them on my guitar. I used SIT strings for the E,A,D and Curt Mangan for the G,B,E, the range was all over the place but it was a good experiment. So Curt Mangan for gentle or soft music, or crazy insane metal solos. I wouldn’t use them live though.

My all-time favorite strings.
I've used a lot of strings and for some reason, I find myself coming back to these. The tone, feel, and longevity of these strings make me happy. I play blues leads and do an inordinate amount of bending, so my thinner strings are always prone to breaking first during big bends long before any other wear out. With these, I find that the strings last longer than others before they stretch themselves into oblivion and snap, and the tone when new is sparkly clean and amazingly clear. I use these on Strats and a BC Rich Mockingbird ST. They sound good on anything.

Well, they are good quality strings, but I still can't play like Albert Lee :(
I've used these consistently on my electric Guitar and they work well for what I do, which is play in my living room for my Dog mostly!

Absolute Garbage
These strings absolutely sucked. The “D” string broke during the tuning process and I opened the second package I purchased to replace it. Once I had tuned to pitch I plugged in a Strat and they sounded like complete ass. Never again!

Amazing strings for bending
I normally play 9-46 because I prefer bending with less tension but I always prefer the sound and feel of 10-46. I can honestly say that these strings bend like nines and feel like tens if that makes sense. These are officially my favorite strings to use. I purchased these around $10 but now they are up to $13 for some reason. they are only $8 on curt mangan's website so I recommend ordering them directly through him to save a few bucks.

Sounds good, easy to do bends
I learned about these after watching “That pedal show” on YouTube. Over all these strings have great playability and sound. Seems easier to do bends. I have them on my Stratocaster, going to put a set on my Les Paul.

great for modern guitar players
While there's no direct correlation between years of playing and knowledge/ability, I will say I've played electric guitar for 30 years and have never played a better string. The strings have a delightful responsiveness and tonal integrity, as well as a brightness that's hard to define but something you just know is good. I play a modern blues/fusion style, and highly recommend these strings.

My preferred strings.
I compared these against Ernie Ball strings and they win hands down. They don't last a super long time, but it's not like they wear out easily. The sound is worth the extra cost.
