And The Melody Lingers On...
Had this for a little while now and held back on a review simply because my previous player, from another company went faulty after six months (would suddenly not switch off power) and I loved it to that point, so I gave it 5 stars and obviously now wish I hadn't. This is a different prospect entirely however, with sturdy metal construction, more features that are included as standard and in my opinion, much better sound quality. My advice would be after the first disappointment, is to avoid plastic construction and spend your money on a more rugged device like this, given what it's intended use is and this is the one I wish I'd purchased in the first place. Lesson learnt for future reference and I would absolutely recommend this regardless of whether it's a first or replacement device. One caveat though - the user experience is much better if you learn the various function buttons and how the device operates. It's not complicated, but touch button navigation will definitely improve the enjoyment and prevent frustration, particularly in my case where I like to choose my tunes instead of just using random shuffling and don't want to keep pressing through a long menu list. All said, it's a terrific player (so far) and I'm a happy bunny.

Plenty of features and easy to use
I purchased this mp3 player to replace my beloved Creative Zen which has finally died! It will mainly be used to play music whilst driving as my current inbuilt radio can only find a couple of stations and I really prefer to listen to my own selections. This is a substantial player at around 4in/11cm long, 2in/5cm wide and just under 1cm depth with the screen taking up most of the front view. The tf expansion slot and mini usb connection slot are located on the left hand lower side while the on/off button and mini headphone jack slot are on the right lower side. The location of these controls may be an issue with anyone who want to use headphones on the go and the size will limit some to the type of mp3 player holder/carrier - I definitely recommend the use of a case to protect the device but as yet have not spotted one that is suitable as I need something that will provide access to the headphone slot while keeping the rest of the player covered. The onboard settings enables the user to set up things like the display backlight, brightness, power saving, date and time, language, sleep timer, screensaver, keylight, factory settings, player information including disc space for the player and expansion card or even format the device! The touch screen is UNDER the main display screen and very simple to use - direction arrows (left / right) scrolls up and down / left / right depending on the screen you are in. OK is used to select things, the return key takes you back to the previous screen - the little menu button only works in certain screens to select or confirm things. This player provides lots of options and was very easy to figure out the touch screen controls without the manual which is also included. It came fully charged and without a ton of unwanted example tracks - I had also ordered a 64gb TF SD Card which most of my music will be transferred to as although the player has a generous 16 gb of space, the card makes it easy to switch out to other devices. So far I have transferred around 9/10 GB of audio mp3 files to the card which is more than enough music although still quite a bit to go! The advert states that the player will handle up to 128 GB TF / SD card in the expansion slot but unable to confirm this as 64 GB was ample for me.I particularly like the way the player automatically searches and lists all the music tracks that I transferred onto the expansion card, it does not show up immediately but once listed, selecting the music icon will then provide a number of options from displaying a list of All Songs, Artists, Albums, Genres or Playlists. You can even create your own playlists and add or delete tracks from them on the player. When using an expansion card an icon is displayed in the top right hand corner of the screen next to the battery status. The SD Card folder can also be accessed from the Audio music section and possibly from other sections. Note that unless tracks / files are saved to the main hard drive, the track list options will initially fail to display - you need to scroll down to the card folder section and select it first then go back to the previous screen to select one of the other options - this is a minor thing but does detract from the players ease of use - I am hoping that once I have set up the playlists, this will resolve the issue, otherwise suggest placing your favourite tracks ON the player and everything else into the expansion card. There is a voice recorder on board which for me is essential as I often use this to to record reminders, song ideas and meetings as my memory is not what it used to be! I expect to save most of these recordings to the inbuilt drive and then delete or transfer them as required. Another interesting feature is that the recorder is capable of recording from the inbuilt FM Radio stations so that you can record a track or item whilst it is playing for later review. The FM Radio only works when the headphones are connected as it uses these as an aerial. A quick search found plenty of stations and the quality of most was pretty clear although suspect this will depend entirely on where you are located. The stations appear under the number of their frequency i.e. 88.4 etc., but can be easily renamed to the station call sign i.e., BBC Radio 4A couple of neat features in the Tools section are the Stopwatch which I personally probably will not need and the Alarm which I definitely will use! There is also a calendar although I cannot find any way to add notes or events to it in the manual or by pressing any of the controls on the touch screen. The calendar can be set in conjunction with the alarm to set reminders for things on a one off, daily or work day basis using the Alarm cycle setting and sound can be either the inbuilt ring tone or by selecting your own alarm music or tone. The player accepts txt only ebook files which is pretty standard for this type of player although I really wish the industry would get up to speed as most ebooks are in epub, pdf, rtf and doc formats nowadays. I noted that when connected to the computer there is what appears to be an Audible file but no instructions in the manual which explains if or how this can be used to listen to Audible books.Photographs and images can be saved and viewed and some graphics like album art which is inbuilt into the mp3 file are automatically included in the same folder as the track. According to the manual the device may also be used as a flash drive to store documents.I do not own any bluetooth speakers but did try testing the feature, first with my smartphone and tablet, neither of which could be discovered by the device or vice versa - not really a surprise as it does state that in the blurb. The only other thing I had to test was my bluetooth headset which it not only discovered but connected to easily and the track I played was nice and lear through the earpiece - note that connecting to a bluetooth headset, earpiece or speaker will disable the onboard speaker. Bluetooth has to be disabled from within the setting when you have finished using this feature and you can see the list of devices you are pairedAs well as music files the player will apparently manage AMV video files but unfortunately the video software conversion program that is bundled with the player simply will not complete installation on my computer which returned a message that a file it requires is not present in the folder named in Chinese script even though I can see it is clearly there - also somewhat annoying that the folder is named that way instead of English as I am loathe to change the folder name in case of causing issues! I used an online video converter to change my standard MPG and AVI files to the lesser known AMV files but when I tried to view them the player returned a Format Error message.Sound quality through both the onboard speaker and via the headphones is surprisingly good and although there are preset preset equalizers that can be selected, I found that the natural level without EQ was very good.Battery time seems very good on a full charge - it has been powered up for the past 3 hours while I have played around with various features, played music, set things up and faffed around with the bluetooth - none of which seems to have made a dent in the battery level which is a good sign!It is early days yet as only had the player for a day so needs further testing over time but overall this is a a really good, sturdy player - I have had to deduct a star due to the issues with the video conversion and failure to play the AMV files converted elsewhere but otherwise am happy to recommend the player and will update my review at a later date if the issues get resolved or I find any new ones!

Great value MP3 player
Really happy with this MP3 player. Having bought one already for my nephew’s uni. My niece requested one but with a speaker built in so she can listen to the recorded lectures. The sound on the speaker is decent, for listening to lecture, it’s perfect. The recorder does a great job. From Abou 1.5 metres, it recorded very clearly. It is easy to use, has everything an MP3 player needs, the sound quality is great. She also had a wireless earbuds which connected to the player perfectly and had no issue while listening to it. If I had to complain about something, it’s a little on the thick side. Other than that, it brilliant.

It's OK at best - patchy start with Mac OS
For the money - this device is ok. It was advertised as working with MacOS and yet none of the documentation (which is pretty poor anyway) mentioned it at all. Figuring it would pick up as a simple external USB mass storage device I plugged it in anyway. The folder contains lots of Windows utilities, but the device does read. However, when trying to load files or folders, the transfer seemed to go ok until i ejected the device and then nothing there!Trying again, I reformatted the device from its own internal function, stuck it in the Mac again and hey presto, came up as a storage device and i could load readable files and folders. Beware - it does noy like native iTunes formats (mp4a and AAC) and as far as i can tell, it wont play AIFF files either so you're stuck with conversion. It hooked up to my Gear4 BlueTooth speaker fine after a couple of discovery attempts and plays fine. However - weirdest feature of the device is that it constantly misses the first 2s of every track - almost like it's adding in the old CD default gap. It's very irritating and i'm giving the company a chance to reply before returning as this is a deal breaker for me as i work as a sound engineer and bought this as a cheap house music storage device for pre-shows, but 2s missing off every track is weird.i'll keep the review updated if I get answers. Otherwise, solid build. Clunky but functional interface. Quite a nice unit for under £30 tbf, just a shame it doesn't play quite all of your music!

Waste of money. Don't Bother
I normally won't give a review on a poor quality product. But this warrants one.It is "Gordon Ramsay" rubbish. Don't purchase one, save your money.Battery life is super poor.Sound quality when it's not "warbling" is okOnly runs some Mp3, mp4 file and nothing else.If I still had my gun licence I'd use this thing as target practice. And a score of 1, is only because you can't give it zero!!!
