Great Bargain Monitor
I rate myself as moderately technology oriented. I am not a gamer, I don't work in the IT field, I don't build systems in my spare time and most of my electronics are 1 or 2 steps behind "cutting edge"...and I'm OK with that. I would rather wait a year for the newest anything to go down in price rather than camp overnight in front of the store on the release date.So - if you're like me - you're going to like this monitor a lot. I shopped around, and there were several brand name monitors with a few extra features that I had considered. But when you factor in price, this is a hands-down winner. After unpacking, the only issue I had was minor; the pedestal wants to slide into the base of the monitor the wrong way. It just eases right in - but when you go to install the screws that join them, there are no screw holes to be seen! The "instructions" are typical of what you find for most modern electronics anymore - tiny graphic pictograms - not very useful. If you don't see the mounting screw holes at first, just remove and play with the procedure until you have same "aha!" moment I did.Once assembled, I was very happily surprised with the plug-and-play aspect of the unit connected to my desktop running Windows 8.1 Update. It even defaulted from the monitor's little speakers to my big powered Logitechs without even asking me to change settings. Simple - just the way I like it.The screen is bright and images are crisp. Colors are true, and it works just fine with the ancient video card in my desktop. I'm into it for about two weeks now, so I can't speak for longterm reliability; but for the moment, it feels like I got a really good deal.

Not quite as good as my Hannspree 42"
Good for the price. Only saw 1 better deal, and that was 2 weeks after this was bought LOL. (Acer 27" 4ms GTG)This is being used as a PC monitor and for watching TV from the PC and sits inside an armoireso viewing angles are not critical and the TN panel here is better than IPS in this instance. After calibrating the unit it looks extremely good, with an almost 3D effect with BBC's Planet Earthwhich tells me the screen is very close to what a screen should be.Removed a star for the horrible, illogical adjustment controls.Fortunately once things are set they rarely need to be touched again. This is a perfect monitor for a refurbished "office" PC with the older D-sub video connections which is the use for which it was purchased. The speakers are horrible, as most LCD TV's in this size range, but that was expected and the PC has a good set of JBL powered speakersIt does NOT have HDMI, which my friend did not need so no points off for that.Overall an older design which stands up well at a very good price.

Waste of money
I was impressed at first by the display quality and product for the price. This monitor died 9 months after I bought it. Waste of money. Won't even turn on.

Great Monitor!!!!!!
This monitor is aweseome! Very vibrant, it's just great. I use this monitor for gaming and videos, World of Warcraft, etc...and I was hesitant to buy it because of the lack of reviews regarding videos and gaming. I could not be happier. I was using the 24" ASUS 'GAMING/VIDEO MONITOR OF THE YEAR FOR 2011' according to Computer Mag, and this Hannspree monitor is much better. I had a dead pixel with Asus, and the colors were not as vibrant and rich as Hannspree.Hannspree monitor really surprised me. I hope people don't start buying these Hannspree's up and upping the prices on them :), because for a 26" inch monitor, this is a good one, and for cheap. Also, compared to the Asus monitor, this monitor was very easy to adjust settings. If wanted to spend the $$, i'd buy 3 of these monitors for surround gaming / video.Best monitor i've had, and great price.Southflalaw (World of Warcraft toon name)

Like it
I have to update my old review. Now that I have been using this for a while I knocked a star off of it for the way the screen is back lit. It is a wonderful monitor for me because I have this hooked up with DVI as my main display, my 21 inch Samsung syncMaster 215tw sitting next to it hooked up with the VGA, and a 55 inch Samsung 3D TV next to my computer desk to watch my Prime movies and all my AVI and MKV, etc... files on. However, if this will be your only monitor and you plan to watch movies on here I would recommend you look at a different monitor because movies do not look good on here. If you will be watching a widescreen movie with the bars on the top and bottom are especially bad with the light you see shining in the black bars. When you are looking at bright web pages like this review page on my screen now everything looks great. Even when I play the video games that I play on the computer (older ones mainly) everything is beautiful. I only get disappointed with this monitor when I open a video file or watch a blu ray movie with it. I do not regret my purchase at all, but since a lot of people probably want to use a monitor this size to watch movies on their computer with, I had to knock the star off and let people know about this flaw.

Great Monitor for the price
Side by side with my trusty Samsung 23" LCD and my Precision Laptop (which is LED backlit). Obviously much clearer and loads more contrast than the aged 23". I am not very mechanically inclined so I did struggle with the assembling the base to the monitor. Instructions could have been a bit clearer for me.I would give 5 stars if they had shipped the 4 little screws need to secure the base to the monitor. Several emails and phone calls have yielded no screws. Heck I even sent an email and access for the specs on the screws as I'd just go buy my own. NO RESPONSE.When I get set to replace the 23" for the price I won't hesitate to grab another one of these (and hope it ships with screws)
