Reminds me of the Kraft cheese loaf that came in the blue box.
Years ago, Kraft made a shelf stable cheese that came in a blue box. It could be found next to the Velveeta at the supermarket. It had a smooth slightly processed cheese taste. I loved it and was so sad when it was discontinued. I've seen a similar Kraft product imported from Australia here at Amazon, but the price is too high for the amount you get. I ordered this Tastee cheese on a whim. While the texture is much firmer than the Kraft cheese and it doesn't melt nearly as well, the flavor is very similar to the cheese that came in the blue box. Add a slice of Tastee, a piece of Genoa salami on a Triscuit and I'm in savory heaven! As other reviewers mentioned, my can came severely dented and was very difficult to open. If the shipper could wrap the can in bubble wrap like they do with glass items, it would probably arrive without dents. If you liked the Kraft cheese in the blue box or Kraft's old English cheese slices that they used to sell many years ago, you may want to try this. It's close enough in flavor to satisfy my cravings for a taste of nostalgia.

A Superior product
Please refer to the review I provided on the 1.1 lb product. Just a larger size now that I've learned how delicious this product is. This 2.2 lb product allows for more experimentation for designing soups, sauces, dips ect....Then I'll purchase 4-5 of the 4.4 lb size to put back on the shelf. Comes in a metal container with a plastic lid to cover after opening and then requires refrigeration. Keeps well in the fridge after opening. Mine NEVER lasts that long to spoil, not after baking homemade soft pretzels with an accompanying Guinness beer cheese dip. Enjoy
