German Aircraft Instrument Panels: Volume 1 (Inside) Hardcover – December 19, 2014

An excellent presentation. It lacks some details that I wish was included, such as panel attachments and even a photograph/drawing of the rear of the panels and instruments (for the extreme modeller). A note to the publisher, though - it would have been better for the last page of color images to have been a separate page and not glued to the back cover. Hopefully the series will be expanded to include side panels. In any event I enjoyed it and am looking forward to Vol 2.

I would like it to have more planes included, I suppose I will have to wait for the other volumes to be printed. Some thing really good is that it has many illustrations and does not have useless texts as some books do.

Great book. I would highly recommend.

This book shows detailed drawings of the German aircraft instrument panels in great detail. Also every single instrument is shown in the separate big drawing. The aircraft instrument panels depicted are: Bf (or Me if you prefer) 109 F-4, Bf 110 E, Fi 156 (Storch), Fw 190 A-3, Hs 123 A, Ju 88 A-4. These were the most popular and effective aircraft used by the Luftwaffe during World War II.While I can not confess to a long thwarted desire to see German Instrument Panels, I found myself thinking of the large number of people for whom this was probably their last view in this mortal life. Particularly the 109 pilots flying against England during the Battle of Britain and staring at fuel gauge getting lower and lower as they wondered if they were going to make it back to France across the channel.

Excellent overall coverage, but some needless duplication of standard instruments. No details of side or accessory panels are shown, which would have been useful
