Sabian is amazing
You cannot get better cymbals for the price than the Sabian B8 / SBR series. Period. They are tough, they have a nice tone and they are priced right. As a natural enemy and killer of cymbals, I will tell you flat out these are giving me a challenge!

Sabian does it again!Love it!
I am a drummer of over 25 yrs...name brand cymbals was never big to me as I use genric cymbals that sound better than name brands. I always like Sabian and that is the cymbal of my choice..when I saw this deal I knew it wouldn't disappoint and it didn't. this is the lower end of Sabian product but u will neve tell it...contructed excellent..better than a u would expect with the hammering done the attention around the outer cymbal for the crash..You can play jazz easily to hard rock!... nice bell on it..i use wooden tips and got a nice ring...technique has a lot to do with stroking the cymbal. So many sounds and lively I wouldn't dare trade it in for a $300 dollar cymbal that's crazy..this does the job!

Make sure to purchase in tandem with other cymbals.
To prefix this long review I have only been playing for about a year and half. It also sounds kind of bleak in the beginning and comes back in the end.I bought this in January to go with the rest of my sabien SBR set, which was given to me used by a friend. Overall I am quite pleased with the SBR set, I would recommend them in heart beat to any beginner. They are beginner cymbals, played by me, more or less a beginner. That being said, I have and would play a gig with them.As for this 18in cymbal, I didn't initially quite understand the concept of a crash/ride. When I first got it in January, it took me a little more effort then I liked to get it to crash, and it sustain was a little too long for my taste. It also just didn't blend super well with the used SBR cymbals I had. It stood out too much, especially when I would play one crash after the other. I expect a little variation given the size difference, but this was night and day.All that to say I was initially unhappy with it, I would even cringe on occasion, at how different it sounded to my 16in crash, but kept it around because it was the same series.Around June, I noticed that it blended better with my other cymbals and I found myself using it as both a crash and second ride.Maybe I just got used to the sound or maybe I subconsciously started hitting it differently, or maybe after being used I the metal changed. My guess is the later, they all sound similar new and as they age they mellow out. Which is something I have heard about cymbals in general, 6 months just doesn't seem like a long time when you consider cymbals still being sold on Ebay from the 50s and 60s. Still, because of this experience, I probably won't buy any more new cymbals.I will say with most other cymbals I have owned there has been a phase of getting used to the new sound. Just tweaking where and how hard I hit them, mostly subconsciously then noticing later. However, this one had the longest period and that was surprising given that it was the same series. All of that to say, I would recommend this cymbal to go with the SBR as long as it is purchased at the around same time as the others. It also pairs nicely with my meinl hcs effects cymbals, purchased around the same time. I am not sure how it would sound with other beginner set ups.One star got knocked because of my initial experience being poor, I think my frustration was mostly user error.

Buen cymbal para empezar con buenas marcas!
Me encantó. Es liviano pero se siente con cuerpo, me gustaron los sonidos de la campana y pienso que es muy versátil. Llegó antes de tiempo. Es mi primer platillo SBR así que me parece genial.

Best brass.
Can't beat it for the money. Not by a long shot. I have a number of sbr cymbals and am very happy with all of them. They sound good mixed in with B8X's.
